LOS ANGELES, CA -  - Royal Blood's self-titled debut album has been nominated for a Mercury Prize, one of the UK's most prestigious music awards, judged by a panel of critics, DJs, musicians, and other industry figures. The winner will be chosen on October 29th. Previous winners include Suede, Primal Scream, PJ Harvey, Arctic Monkeys, Alt J, and Pulp. This week the band was also nominated for a Q Award for Best New Act by the UK's Best Selling Music Monthly. 

Royal Blood's album was released on August 25th by Warner Bros. Records. The album debuted at Number 1 on the UK Album Chart, selling over 65,000 copies in the UK alone. In the U.S. the album debuted at Number 2 on the Alternative Albums Chart Number 8 on the rock album chart. To purchase the album on iTunes, click HERE
