Bob Dylan's Fallen Angels Receives Critical Raves Album Is Available Now In CD, Vinyl & Digital Formats

NEW YORK, -- Bob Dylan's new album, Fallen Angels, is available now in CD, vinyl and digital formats.  Showcasing the artist's singular interpretive artistry on twelve classic American songs, Fallen Angels is the 37th studio album from Dylan and the first since last year's Shadows In The Night.  Produced by Jack Frost, Dylan's unique approach to recording the songs included refining complicated arrangements for 30-piece orchestras down to those uniquely tailored for his five-piece band.  The album can be found at Amazon, iTunes and at all music retail outlets and major streaming services.
Critical response to Fallen Angels has been enthusiastic, with rave reviews coming in from around the globe:
  • Randy Lewis wrote in The Los Angeles Times, "[Dylan] immediately liberates songs from the big band/big orchestra world from which they emerged, and in which they are most frequently revisited…. [He] reaches to the blues at the core of many of these songs. Thus, they elicit the ache of romantic yearning and loss that often gets subsumed by swelling orchestral forces, background choirs or by singers who are more focused on crafting elegant vocals than finding emotional resonance."
  • Entertainment Weekly's Jim Farber opined, "Dylan alights on these words with a wry delicacy…Tellingly, he delivers these songs of love lost and cherished not with a burning passion but with the wistfulness of experience. They're memory songs now, intoned with a present sense of commitment….Standards likes these and Dylan's own songs now stand as equal American totems."
  • In her 5-star review of the album, The Telegraph's Helen Brown wrote, "Like Sinatra — Dylan's always had a knockout knack for putting a lyric across. Whether whispering into your ear in the jingle jangle morning (he wrote most of his own songs at dawn) or snarling at you from the street corner, he made every word matter….Now he inhabits classic lines by songwriters like Johnny Mercer with weathered ease….These recordings have the relaxed intimacy of a band alone, playing on long after the engineer has set the levels."
  • Rolling Stone's Will Hermes wrote of Dylan's singing on the album, "His phrasing remains spectacular, sometimes heartbreaking, sometimes hilarious" and of the musicianship, "the playing is sublime."
  • In another 5-star review, NOW's Vish Khanna wrote, "Dylan highlights the art of crooning, commanding the prettiest version of his multi-faceted, distinctive voice. This album is not a trifle; in some instances, these might well be newly definitive recordings of the songs. Fallen Angels is a hazy, laid-back history lesson with as many enigmatic twists and turns as a classic double-cross caper. It subverts archetypes of romance, heroism and interpersonal connection to reveal something more sinister about human intent, all packaged in beautiful musicianship of the highest order."
Bob Dylan's six previous studio albums have been universally hailed as among the best of his storied career, achieving new levels of commercial success and critical acclaim for the artist. The Platinum-selling Time Out Of Mind from 1997 earned multiple Grammy Awards, including Album Of The Year, while "Love and Theft" continued Dylan's Platinum streak and earned several Grammy nominations and a statue for Best Contemporary Folk album.
Modern Times, released in 2006, became one of the artist's most popular albums, selling more than 2.5 million copies worldwide and earning Dylan two more Grammys. Together Through Life became the artist's first album to debut at #1 in both the U.S. and the UK, as well as in five other countries, on its way to surpassing sales of one million copies.  Tempest received unanimous worldwide critical acclaim upon release and reached the Top 5 in 14 countries, while the artist's globe-spanning concert tours of the past few years have heavily emphasized that album's singular repertoire.
Shadows In The Night, on which Dylan paid tribute to Frank Sinatra with distinctive interpretations of ten songs previously recorded by Sinatra, debuted in the Top Ten in 14 countries.  The album entered the charts at #1 in the United Kingdom, Sweden and Ireland, #2 in Denmark, the Netherlands and Switzerland, #3 in Austria, Japan and Spain, #6 in Germany and Belgium, #8 in Finland and #10 in Canada.  The album also debuted at #6 in the United States, making it the artist's 17th studio album to debut in the Top 10 in this country.
These six releases fell within a 19-year creative span that also included the recording of an Oscar- and Golden Globe-winning composition, "Things Have Changed," from the film Wonder Boys, in 2001; a worldwide best-selling memoir, Chronicles Vol. 1, which spent 19 weeks on the New York Times Best Seller List, in 2004, and a Martin Scorsese-directed documentary, No Direction Home, in 2005. Bob Dylan also released his first collection of holiday standards, Christmas In The Heart, in 2009, with all of the artist's royalties from that album being donated to hunger charities around the world.
In recent years, Bob Dylan was the recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the United States' highest civilian honor. He was awarded a special Pulitzer Prize in 2008 for "his profound impact on popular music and American culture, marked by lyrical compositions of extraordinary poetic power." He was also the recipient of the Officier de la Legion d'honneur in 2013, Sweden's Polar Music Award in 2000, Doctorates from the University of St. Andrews and Princeton University, as well as numerous other honors.
Bob Dylan has sold more than 125 million records around the world.

Fallen Angels
The Critics Have Listened
Dylan, who also produced under his pseudonym Jack Frost, immediately liberates songs from the big band/big orchestra world from which they emerged, and in which they are most frequently revisited…. Dylan reaches to the blues at the core of many of these songs. Thus, they elicit the ache of romantic yearning and loss that often gets subsumed by swelling orchestral forces, background choirs or by singers who are more focused on crafting elegant vocals than finding emotional resonance.

Rolling StoneWill Hermes
Bob Dylan is a great singer….  His skill has always been in connection, in expression, in using his voice to capture the essence of the song he is singing.  And with Fallen Angels…Dylan shows how his connection to these songs and to his fans has only grown stronger….Fallen Angels is so well-crafted, the impressive work of a great singer.
NewsdayGlenn Gamboa
Dylan alights on these words with a wry delicacy…Tellingly, he delivers these songs of love lost and cherished not with a burning passion but with the wistfulness of experience. They're memory songs now, intoned with a present sense of commitment….Standards likes these and Dylan¹s own songs now stand as equal American totems.
Entertainment WeeklyJim Farber
Like Sinatra — Dylan's always had a knockout knack for putting a lyric across. Whether whispering into your ear in the jingle jangle morning (he wrote most of his own songs at dawn) or snarling at you from the street corner, he made every word matter….Now he inhabits classic lines by songwriters like Johnny Mercer with weathered ease….These recordings have the relaxed intimacy of a band alone, playing on long after the engineer has set the levels.
The Telegraph - Helen Brown
Dylan digs back into the treasure trove that is the American songbook. The focus here is generally on breezier fare….There is a loose, playful quality to much of the singing here, and to the tracks, which Dylan produced under his nom de studio, Jack Frost. ….This is what a seasoned performer can do with words and music, whether his own or someone else's. Dylan deserves thanks for reminding us of that, again.
USA Today – Elysa Gardner
Dylan highlights the art of crooning, commanding the prettiest version of his multi-faceted, distinctive voice. This album is not a trifle; in some instances, these might well be newly definitive recordings of the songs. Fallen Angels is a hazy, laid-back history lesson with as many enigmatic twists and turns as a classic double-cross caper. It subverts archetypes of romance, heroism and interpersonal connection to reveal something more sinister about human intent, all packaged in beautiful musicianship of the highest order.

ACE FREHLEY AND PAUL STANLEY INTERVIEW

ACE FREHLEY DEBUTS “FIRE AND WATER” INTERVIEW
FEATURING KISS FRONTMAN PAUL STANLEY

FIRST INTERVIEW WITH ACE + PAUL IN 15 YEARS
ORIGINS VOL. 1 OUT NOW
-- 2014 Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame member ACE FREHLEY today has released, via 95.5 KLOS, a brand new video interview show on set immediately after the video shoot for his cover of Free’s 1970 hit “Fire and Water” featuring none other than KISS frontman PAUL STANLEY.  The six minute clip is the first time the two have been interviewed on camera in over 15 years. The last time the two sat for an interview was during the KISS farewell tour in 2002 in Australia.

The video notches itself into rock and roll history as the first time both Frehley and Stanley appear in a music video since KISS’ music video for “Psycho Circus” released in 1998. It’s also the first time in 14 years that the two shared a stage since KISS’ appearance at the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City. Finally, it’s the first time Frehley has released a music video since 1989, which was Frehley's cover of "Do Ya" released by both The Move and ELO.

Last month, ACE FREHLEY cracked the U.S. top 10 with his latest effort Origins: Vol. 1 charting at #1 on the Billboard Hard Music Chart, #3 on the Billboard Rock chart and #6 on the Billboard Current Chart selling more than 16k units in its first week of release according to Nielsen Soundscan. Internationally, the LP most notably came in at #2 on the Sweden Hard Rock Charts and #05 on the England Indie Album Breaker Charts.

Origins: Vol.1 and its success serves as the follow up to Space Invader, which debuted at #9 on the Top 200 Chart in 2014, the same year Ace Frehley was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as an original member of KISS.

ACE FREHLEY released Origins Vol. 1, a collection of 12 newly recorded classics from Ace’s formative years featuring some of the biggest names in rock and roll on April 15, 2016. This collaboration marks the first time that Ace and Paul appear on the same studio recording since KISS' 1998 reunion album Psycho Circus.

Ace spoke with Rolling Stone about the new record, his guest players and recording with Paul after all these years. Rolling Stone writes: Regarding his reunion with Stanley, Frehley shrugs off any residual tension between the two of them. "We've always been friends," he says. "The press seems to amplify negativity. I guess it makes good copy."

Rolling Stone debuted "White Room," a few months ago, the classic hit originally performed by Cream. Other guests are none other than Slash trading leads on Thin Lizzy's classic "Emerald," Lita Ford singing and playing lead on The Troggs staple "Wild Thing," Rob Zombie guitarist John 5 playing guitar alongside Ace as he sings his classic KISS composition "Parasite" for the very first time, as well as Jimi Hendrix's "Spanish Castle Magic," and Pearl Jam's Mike McCready also plays guitar with Ace as he finally sings his KISS “Alive!” mainstay "Cold Gin."

KRISTIN KONTROL ANNOUNCES HEADLINE TOUR IN SUPPORT OF DEBUT ALBUM, X-COMMUNICATE, SET FOR RELEASE ON MAY 27 ON SUB POP RECORDS

X-COMMUNICATE - WHICH IS STREAMING NOW ON PITCHFORK - INTRODUCES NEW SOLO PROJECT FROM KRISTIN WELCHEZ, FKA DEE DEE OF THE DUM DUM GIRLS

KRISTIN JOINS GARBAGE ON TOUR THIS SUMMER

LOS ANGELES, CA - May 25, 2016 - Kristin Kontrol will kick off an East Coast tour on June 15 at BSP in Kingston, NY. After the short headline run, which will wrap up on June 22 at Baby's All Right in Brooklyn, NY, she'll be opening for Garbage. The band's summer tour kicks off on July 22 in Minneapolis and includes concerts at Ryman Auditorium in Nashville (July 20) and SummerStage in NYC's Central Park (August 1). See below for itinerary. Tickets can be purchased HERE.

Pitchfork is now streaming X-Communicate, Kristin Kontrol's debut album, in its entirety HERE. Fans who pre-order the album, which is set for release on May 27 via Sub Pop Records, will instantly receive two tracks: "X-Communicate" and "Show Me."Pitchfork said, "Eighties synth-pop provides the foundation for 'X-Communicate,' the first single...But the results are far too opulent to scan as merely retro."

Kristin Kontrol is the new project from Kristin Welchez - fka Dee Dee, leader of internationally
acclaimed rock outfit Dum Dum Girls. Dum Dum Girls was Kristin's guise for the best part of a decade. After posting her bedroom recordings online, she caught the ears of Sub Pop, assembled a group of badass, black-clad cadets and toured the world. Over the course of three albums, four EPs and numerous singles, Dum Dum Girls morphed from the girl group-gone-bad moves of debut album I Will Be (2010), to the comparatively plush noir-pop of 2014's Too True.
Now she's shed her skin, ditching Dee Dee - the name she had assumed for Dum Dum Girls
- for her given name, Kristin. She recorded X-Communicate with producers Kurt Feldman (of Ice
Choir) and Andrew Miller (who played guitar in the Dum Dum Girls' last incarnation).
"She's hitting reset, forcing us to rise to the occasion and see female creators as something more
than our preconceptions," said MTV News. Stereogum observed, "Kristin Kontrol is radically
different from anything we would've expected from Welchez as Dee Dee. It draws on various
strains of pop from various eras, collapsing them together into slick, infectious synth-pop... X-
Communicate and the evolution into Kristin Kontrol show Welchez becoming an absolute
machine when it comes to hooks."
"Kristin Kontrol's first album is a comet-powerful, bright, and trailing glitter as it goes...a
smashingly fun debut album that will leave you hungry for more," said Bust. "Yes, this is a dance-
pop record, but think a modern spin on Kate Bush's The Hounds of Love, Siouxsie and the
Banshees' Tinderbox," noted Under the Radar. Idolator said, "The title track takes Berlin's buoyant synth-pop and gives it a goth nail polish sheen, and it features some
of the strongest vocals of her career."

Kristin talks about her early influences and the "scary but totally liberating" transition from the
Dum Dum Girls to her new project in
this Instagram blog feature. Other recent features on Kristin include Interview and Paste Magazine. You can check out her playlist of sadder-than-the-album-versions for The Guardian HERE and view Kristin performing "Pop Life" in the studio with Neon Indian and Friends in this video.

The Monkees
Good Times: The 50th Anniversary Tour
At The Family Arena – Saturday, November 5

WHAT:         An Evening with The Monkees

When four young men were cast in the television roles of a struggling rock band inspired by The Beatles’ A Hard Day’s Night, few could have predicted the impact The Monkees would make on music and pop culture at large, an impact that still reverberates 50 years later.

Assembled in Los Angeles in 1965 by Bob Rafelson and Bert Schneider for the television series The Monkees, the quartet of Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith, Peter Tork, and the late Davy Jones brought a singular mix of pop, rock, psychedelica, Broadway, and country to their music.

The Monkees’ first single, “Last Train to Clarksville,” was released in August 1966, hitting #1 and serving as advance publicity for their series, which debuted on September 12. When the group’s self-titled debut album arrived in stores a month later, it quickly headed for the top spot of the Billboard charts, where it would ultimately sit for 13 of the 78 weeks it remained in the Top 200.

By the time the group’s TV series aired its final new episode on March 25, 1968, the Monkees had seen three further albums top the charts – More of the Monkees, Headquarters, and Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones, Ltd., all of which were released in 1967, staggeringly enough – while racking up several more hit singles, with “I’m a Believer,” “(I’m Not Your) Steppin’ Stone,” “A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit You,” “The Girl I Knew Somewhere,” “Pleasant Valley Sunday,” “Words,”  “Daydream Believer,” “Valleri,” and “Tapioca Tundra” all finding their way into the Billboard Top 40.

Now, Micky Dolenz and Peter Tork carry on that tradition with a full evening of magic music and multi-media splendor, including clips from their Emmy Award winning series. Their new show features all of the Monkees hits, plus an intimate acoustic set and solo spots for each of the singers. This Evening With The Monkees is sure to please every fan of the band.
