JACKSON BROWNE RETURNS TO THE FOX THEATRE

FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY ON NOVEMBER 2!

 

St. Louis, MO/October 2, 2012Singer-songwriter Jackson Browne will bring his 2012 U.S. Acoustic Tour to the Fabulous Fox Theatre on Friday, November 2 at 8 p.m.  Playing guitar and piano, Jackson will perform songs from his entire body of work.  Singer-songwriter and fiddle player Sara Watkins will open the Acoustic Tour as a special guest. Tickets are on sale now through MetroTix and ticket prices start at $43.50. This performance is being presented by The Nine Network and Fox Concerts.
 
Jackson Browne has written and performed some of the most literate and moving songs in popular music and has defined a genre of songwriting charged with honesty, emotion and personal politics. He was honored with induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, and the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame in 2007.
 
Jackson's career began in the mid-60s in Los Angeles and Orange County folk clubs. Except for a brief period in NYC in the late 1960s, he has always lived in Southern California.  His debut album came out on David Geffen's Asylum Records in 1972. Since then, He has released thirteen studio albums and three collections of live performances; his most recent, Love Is Strange features David Lindley.  
 
Beyond his music, he is known for his advocacy on behalf of the environment, human rights, and arts education. He's a co-founder of the groups Musicians United for Safe Energy (MUSE), Nukefree.org, and, Success Through the Arts Foundation, which provides education opportunities for students in South Los Angeles.
 
Sara Watkins first gained recognition as a founding member of the GRAMMY-winning trio Nickel Creek. Sun Midnight Sun, the second solo album from acclaimed singer, songwriter, and fiddle player was released this past May. Produced by guitarist, singer, and songwriter Blake Mills, co-founder of the band Simon Dawes, the album features special guest appearances by Fiona Apple, Jackson Browne, Taylor Goldsmith (Dawes), Benmont Tench, and Sean Watkins.
 
“I’m really excited to have Sara joining me on this tour,” says Jackson.  “We've played together a number of times in the last few years, sometimes on her show and sometimes mine, and it's always been a thrill for me. I'm floored by her amazing instrumental virtuosity and by her beautiful voice, and most of all, I love her songs.”
