NASHVILLE, TN  – October 1, 2012 – CMA New Artist of the Year nominee Brantley Gilbert laid a solid foundation for his HELL ON WHEELS TOUR over the weekend, playing to over 14,000 screaming fans and hard-core BG Nation followers in Lafayette, IN (9/27); Poplar Bluff, MO (9/28) and Oklahoma City, OK (9/29) setting the attendance record for Poplar Bluff’s Black River Coliseum on Friday night.

From elaborate lighting effects and stage layout to the premium sound system and merchandise designs, Gilbert has overseen the entire HELL ON WHEELS TOUR experience. His set offers a wide range of music from country to rock with a few cover tunes, like David Lee Murphy’s “Dust On The Bottle,” as well as Gilbert’s own #1 hits, including “My Kinda Party,” “Country Must Be Country Wide,” “You Don’t Know Her Like I Do” and more.

During Saturday night’s show in Oklahoma City, more than 5,000 fans endured pouring rain throughout the high-energy set. Check out one fan’s video here of Gilbert’s Top 40-and-climbing single, “Kick It In the Sticks.”

“We have had an incredible time this year being out on the road with Eric Church and Toby Keith. Both of those guys have influenced parts of this tour. But I told my team earlier this summer that I wanted us to think about every detail of the show to ensure the fans walked away with a unique experience,” said Gilbert.

He continued, “If there is one thing I have learned over the years, it’s that my fans come from different backgrounds – Country fans, Rock fans, music fans. But when they come to my show, they are BG fans and I want to make sure they walk away with an even greater understanding of my music, and of me. I believe we delivered that this weekend … even in the downpour, I could hear them singing and saw their fists in the air. It was amazing!”

The tour will continue through the middle of November with a break on November 1 when Gilbert will head to Nashville, where the Country rocker earned his second-ever nomination at the 2012 CMA Awards. Gilbert is the only New Artist of the Year nominee to have a Gold album, a headlining tour, two consecutive #1 singles and over one million Facebook fans.
