ELI YOUNG BAND DEBUTS AT #1 ON iTUNES COUNTRY ALBUM CHART WITH CRAZY GIRL EP

Nashville, TN (May 4, 2011) – Republic Nashville artist the Eli Young Band made its debut yesterday at #1 on the iTunes Country Album Chart with the CRAZY GIRL EP. 

The album made the climb to the top of the chart 8 hours after itsrelease and marks the band’s second #1 on iTunes in just two months. The single “Crazy Girl” also made its debut at #1 on the iTunes Country Singles Chart with over 45,000 downloads sold in its first week. 

Since the song’s release online, it has sold over 200,000 downloads in two months, averaging 25,000 each week.  The video for the singlemade its debut at #1 on CMT.com and has been viewed over 1 million times between YouTube and CMT alone. “We’re fortunate that we have fans that are hungry for new music from the band,” said bass player Jon Jones.  Lead singer Mike Eli echoed the sentimentadding, “we are so very lucky to have such loyal fans that love the song as much as we do.”

This week, “Crazy Girl’ climbs into the Top 30 at country radio, making the track the fastest rising EYB single to date.   The early success of the single and the EP is a clear indicator that the Eli Young Band has struck a nerve with country fans that have gone crazy for “Crazy Girl.”
