Chicago's brightest rising star and NBC’s The Voice Season 3 contestant DE'BORAH is releasing her debut single, ‘Coming Out Looking Good’, on March 12, 2013 exclusively via Liquid Spins (this single will not be available at any other digital retailer). Co-produced by WuLi Records producers Ryan T. McGuire and Louis Svitek along with DE'BORAH’s older brother Troy (TJ) Garner (and processed in cutting edge MAX·D HD audio), ‘Coming Out Looking Good’ is the first exclusive new release from any artist at Liquid Spins. Featuring choir-like backing vocals, a pulsating and anthemic drum beat, and the fierce vocals that DE‘BORAH is known for from her run on Season 3 of The Voice, it is clear that this track is a strong debut from a gifted artist who isn’t afraid to be true to herself and to her art.
‘Coming Out Looking Good’ spreads DE’BORAH’s message of “being yourself” and her passion of raising awareness about LGBT rights and related bullying in America. “We’re
going through a tough time in America right now with bullying and it’s
never too late to be educated. Even the wise needs wisdom,” states DE’BORAH.
“I’m happy to be a part of this movement. Any step that I can take in
motivating or encouraging youth and society in any way, I’m happy to be a
part of. I have seven younger siblings myself and I want them to be
able to be themselves, straight or gay.”
‘Coming Out Looking Good’ showcases DE’BORAH’s
visceral and sometimes raw vocal strength, which says a lot about her
personality and her willingness to take risks. She describes her music
and overall swagger as very eclectic—energetically intertwining rock,
alternative, soul and pop into her own unpredictable range of styles. DE’BORAH believes music is about stories and writes music from within, often relating her experiences to today’s youth. She states, “Music will always reflect who I am.”
DE'BORAH's voice is uniquely mature for a 25-year-old. She is never complacent and she seeks constant improvement in all areas. DE'BORAH takes and applies all the advice she was given from Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine on The Voice
and all the music industry professionals she has had the opportunity to
come across. Cee Lo Green told her he loved her “swag,” attitude and
energy. Christina Aguilera said she had “so much fun” listening to her
performances.
DE'BORAH is no stranger to the stage. DE'BORAH’s
live performances started locally in her hometown church and high
school music department in Chicago Heights, IL. Since performing as a
contestant on The Voice, DE'BORAH has been singing at countless events across the country. She has upcoming performances set to be announced soon.
