Critically Acclaimed Hit “I’m Not Gonna Miss You” Scores Best Original Song Nod

Nashville, TN (January 15, 2015) – Music Icon GLEN CAMPBELL’S GRAMMY® nominated song “I’m Not Gonna Miss You”
can now add OSCAR nominee to its growing list of accolades. It was
announced this morning that the song has been recognized by the Academy
of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences in the category of Best Original Song.
The song appears in the critically praised documentary GLEN CAMPBELL…I’LL BE ME, which follows Glen’s final tour and his struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Written by the legendary musician and producer Julian Raymond, the song is Glen’s final recording. Almost lumbering through the melody, Glen’s weathered tenor confesses the painful truths of what is lost, the cost – and the reality that it will all be lost to him, the man who can’t remember.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, only 20 Oscar nominations have ever been accorded to documentary features in categories other than the one designated for them (Best Documentary). GLEN CAMPBELL…I’LL BE will now be added to that list.

With a mere handful of piano chords and a swell of harmonies, the song opens into the poignant, yet clear–eyed revelation of the things Alzheimer’s steals. Pedal steel weeps, strings bathe the melody that rises against drums and an electric guitar that mirrors the unbreakable passage of life and time.

With over 14 million music video views and a historic ranking on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart, the song immediately struck a chord with fans and has been going strong ever since.

Big Machine Label Group President/CEO SCOTT BORCHETTA serves as an Executive Producer for the film and the soundtrack along with Keach.
NBC News secured an exclusive interview with Glen and the Campbell family in early October sparking a fire that ignited over four million views of the music video within hours. Both NBC Nightly News and TODAY profiled Glen and the music from the film, which was quickly followed by other national press including The New York Times, NPR and The Los Angeles Times.
