New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival announce 2015 talent lineup
 

New Orleans, LA (January 12, 2015) — The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival presented by Shell today announced the music lineup for the 2015 Festival scheduled for April 24 - 26 and April 30 - May 3.

This year’s listing of over 500 bands marks an unprecedented musical gathering, even by Jazz Fest standards. Happiest of Fests to everyone; away we go!”
The mission of the Festival is to annually celebrate the unique culture and heritage of New Orleans and Louisiana alongside nationally and internationally renowned guest artists.  Jazz Fest takes place at the Fair Grounds Race Course and will once again feature twelve stages of music in such varied genres as rock, pop, R&B, gospel, blues, traditional and contemporary jazz, Cajun, zydeco and much more.  The Festival will present more than 500 bands during the seven-day event with over eighty percent of the performers hailing from the city and region.
Advanced single-day tickets for Jazz Fest are $58. The gate price ticket will be $70.  Children’s tickets (ages 2 - 10) are still only $5 and are available at the gate only.  Single-day tickets to Jazz Fest are on sale by specific weekend, with each ticket valid for a single day’s attendance. Tickets can be purchased in person at the Smoothie King Center Box Office.  All general admission Jazz Fest tickets are subject to additional service fees and handling charges.
All of the Festival’s hugely popular VIP packages are on sale while very limited supplies last.  The Jazz Festival offers three distinct VIP opportunities to experience the event in style: the Festival’s popular Big Chief VIP Experience ticket package provides special viewing access at most of the Festival’s stages; the Grand Marshal VIP Pass allows for up-close access at the three major stages; and the Krewe of Jazz Fest VIP Pass which entitles patrons to special covered seating at the Acura Stage audience area  (See attachments for details). The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and Foundation, Inc., is the nonprofit organization that owns the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival presented by Shell. The Foundation uses the proceeds from Jazz Fest, and other revenues, for year-round activities in the areas of education, economic development and cultural enrichment. Education programs include the Don “Moose” Jamison Heritage School of Music, the Tom Dent Congo Square Lecture Series and the Class Got Brass competition. Economic Development initiatives include the Community Partnership Grants, the Sync Up entertainment industry conference and new programs such as the Catapult Fund and Brass Tacks. Cultural events include the Jazz Journey concert series and free community festivals: the Crescent City Blues & BBQ Festival, the Congo Square New World Rhythms Festival, the Louisiana Cajun-Zydeco Festival and the Tremé Creole Gumbo Festival. The Foundation also owns radio station WWOZ 90.7-FM and the Jazz & Heritage Archive. In December 2014, the Foundation opened a new building, the George and Joyce Wein Jazz & Heritage Center – an education and community facility named for Jazz Fest founder George Wein and his late wife Joyce.
The much-beloved Jazz & Heritage Foundation Gala will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2015.  The Gala is an evening of music, food and fun that directly supports the Don Jamison Heritage School of Music, a free music instruction program that reaches more than 85 students each week. Jazz Fest will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the New Orleans Center For Creative Arts (NOCCA) at this year’s event. The Festival will feature the NOCCA Pavilion, a large tent located at the heart of the Fair Grounds, showcasing the next generation of local artists.   Presentations from NOCCA students will include multidisciplinary live shows on the NOCCA Stage inside the Pavilion and the painting of a 20’ mural in front of the tent. Photo and multimedia exhibits will complete the presentation.
