Luke Bryan has announced the second leg of his 2014 That’s My Kind of Night Tour. Bryan revealed his touring plans for the new year at a press conference on Tuesday morning (Jan. 14).
The cross-country trek will feature Lee Brice and Cole Swindell as Bryan’s opening acts. Swindell and Bryan are longtime friends, and the ‘Drink a Beer’ singer said he was thrilled to have him along on the road.
“Cole is a dear friend of mine from many years ago that actually sold t-shirts for me for three years,” Bryan recalled. “He always had artist aspirations. I fired him from t-shirts,” he joked. “We’re so excited to have him, he’s been writing and I think his album goes for pre-sale today, and he’s knocking some of my songs down the chart.”
He also called Brice “an amazing artist, incredible vocalist,” adding, “It’s gonna be an amazing year out there on the That’s My Kind of Night Tour.”
The new tour will include two-night stands in select cities.
“It’s a testament to the fans and the relationship and the years of coming there, to get to do two nights,” Bryan stated. “It’s fun rolling in and doing a show, going and riding around the city, eating some of the local fare, and not another bus ride. We can sit back and enjoy and be rested and be ready for a second show. It’s gonna be great.”
Other highlights of the tour will include a June 21 gig at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, which will also feature Bryan’s good friend Dierks Bentley. Bryan is also slated to play at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center on Aug. 15, a show that he hints will feature some surprises.
Bentley will join Bryan, Brice and Swindell again on Aug. 31 at Chicago’s Soldier Field. The tour is slated to wrap up at the Hollywood Bowl.
