THE BAND PERRY BRINGS HISTORY-MAKING CROWD TO HOMETOWN (GREENVILLE, TN) WITH FREE SHOW

NEW ALBUM PIONEER AVAILABLE TODAY

"To know where you are going,
you have to know where you've been..."
Nashville, TN - Republic Nashville sibling trio The Band Perry gave a special performance in their hometown of Greeneville, TN, debuting new music from their sophomore album, PIONEER. An estimated crowd of 25,000 took to the streets of the small mountain town to see the famous residents and a chance meeting in the autograph line that stretched nearly a mile down Main Street.  Their new CD, PIONEER, which releases today,  has already hit #1 on the iTunes Country chart!

The history-making crowd boasted approximately 15,000 out of town visitors, who made their way to see "their" band. With an invitation from The Band Perry, via Twitter (can we hyperlink to the tweet?), fans came from all over -- from Florida, Iowa, Texas and even Canada.

The event, which was presented by the Greene County Partnership and sponsored by General Mills and Outnumber Hunger, is believed to be the largest in recorded history in the East Tennessee town.  The Band Perry is among the pioneers putting this quaint town on the map and they were aptly recognized with a Proclamation honoring them, signed by Governor Bill Haslam and presented by State Representative David Hawk.

"We are so humbled by the show of support from our hometown, as well as our fans that traveled so many miles - and our neighbors just down the street - to see the show! We had a great time signing CDs for everyone who braved the crisp night air waiting to meet us and say hello. And to have Governor Haslam recognize us as we came home, what an incredible honor," says Neil Perry.

"To have so many people come out and celebrate with us in Greeneville is just amazing. Our hometown has given us a lot and we wanted to do something to give back. I think everybody had a good time, I know that we sure did," says Reid Perry.

"To know where you are going, you have to know where you've been.  We love small towns and embrace the nurturing they provide.  We will be the first to tell you that great things come from humble beginnings.  You don't have to think small just because you are from a small town and we want everyone to know that.  We had a great time performing for our friends in Greeneville this past weekend," says Kimberly Perry.

The Band Perry performed their PLATINUM-certified, multi-week #1 lead single "Better Dig Two" on ABC's "Good Morning America" this morning (include link if it's up by the time the release is serviced) and will be featured on ABC's "Nightline" tonight at 11:35P ET/10:35P CT. This Sunday (4/7) the Vocal Group of the Year nominees will perform on the 48th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, airing live from Las Vegas on CBS, and beginning at 8:00P ET.

ABOUT THE BAND PERRY: Siblings Kimberly, Reid and Neil Perry quickly catapulted into the mainstream with the success of their Quadruple-Platinum, breakout hit "If I Die Young." In 2011, the tune took the #1 position on both Country and AC charts as well as earned 2011 CMA Single AND Song of the Year. Their success continued with Platinum-certified "You Lie" and the Gold-certified, #1 smash "All Your Life." The Band Perry has won multiple ACM, CMA and CMT Music Awards as well as GRAMMY, TEEN CHOICE, AMA, ACA and Billboard Music Award nominations.
