Ashanti Releases New Single "Never Should Have" From Forthcoming Album "Braveheart"

ASHANTI CURRENTLY STARRING IN SEASON 7 OF LIFETIME'S HIT DRAMA ARMY WIVES

NEW YORK, - Grammy Award winning, multi-platinum singer/songwriter, actor and author Ashanti announces the release of her new single, "Never Should Have." The heartfelt ballad is now available on iTunes and is the latest single from her forthcoming album, "Braveheart," which will be released on June 11, 2013 on Written Entertainment/eOne Music.  A video for the single was just shot in Santa Barbara, CA with director Sanji Senaka (David Guetta & Nicki Minaj, Nelly, Common, Jennifer Lopez, etc.) and will be serviced shortly.
Additionally, Ashanti made her series regular debut on Army Wives this season as "Latasha Montclair," a force of nature and an indomitable spirit for whom "southern hospitality" isn't just a concept, it's a way of life.  Latasha finds joy in navigating the daily chaos of singlehandedly wrangling her three children while her husband, "Quincy" (Joshua Henry, Godspell, The Scottsboro Boys), is deployed overseas.  Ashanti's new single "Never Should Have" is currently featured in the promos for Season 7 and will be in an episode of the series as well.

Her self- titled debut Album landed at the #1 spot on the Billboard Top 200 and R&B album charts. It sold a whopping 504,000 in the first week granting her a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records. She also won a Grammy for Best Contemporary R&B Album. She has since released four albums, achieving multi-platinum success.
