STIFEL THEATRE ANNOUNCES 2019-20 BROADWAY SEASON 
Lineup Includes A Night With Janis Joplin, An American In Paris, THE COLOR PURPLE, and THE SPONGEBOB MUSICAL

ST. LOUIS – Stifel Theatre announces A NIGHT WITH JANIS JOPLIN, AN AMERICAN IN PARIS, THE COLOR PURPLE, and THE SPONGEBOB MUSICAL will visit the historic venue as part of the 2019-20 Broadway Series.
Opening the season Oct. 8-9 with two shows, A NIGHT WITH JANIS JOPLIN starring Mary Bridget Davies, reprising her Tony Award nominated title role. Get ready to sing and dance along to your favorite Joplin songs, including “Piece of My Heart,” “Cry Baby,” “Me and Bobby McGee,” and many others.
Filled with romance and adventure, AN AMERICAN IN PARIS is set to take the Stifel Theatre stage on Feb. 12. Winner of four Tony Awards and inspired by the Academy Award winning film, this exquisite production features your favorite Gershwin songs including “I Got Rhythm,” “Liza,” “'S Wonderful,” “But Not for Me,” and “Stairway to Paradise.” 2016 Tony Award® winner for Best Musical Revival,
THE COLOR PURPLE has been hailed as “a direct hit to the heart” (The Hollywood Reporter). This joyous American classic about a young woman’s journey to love and triumph in the American South comes to St. Louis on April 11.

 A NIGHT WITH JANIS JOPLIN is a musical journey celebrating Janis Joplin and her biggest musical Influences trailblazers like Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Odetta, Nina Simone and Bessie Smith, all of whom inspired Joplin to become one of Rock ‘n’ Roll’s greatest legends. Like a comet that burns far too brightly to last, Joplin exploded onto the music scene in 1967 and, almost overnight, became the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll. Audiences will enjoy Joplin’s favorites, including “Piece of My Heart,” “Cry Baby,” “Me and Bobby McGee,” and many others.
