HUMAN NATURE TO RELEASE THE CHRISTMAS ALBUM

LAS VEGAS, NV (October 6, 2014) – Human Nature, Australia’s #1 vocal group, is celebrating the spirit of the holidays with the gift of music and have produced an album with some of the most loved holiday songs ever. Human Nature – The Christmas Album is also accompanied by a portfolio of 6 music videos including an extraordinary clay animation video of “White Christmas” which captures Human Nature’s sentiment of the season with their own interpretation of the story. This project is being released on HN Entertainment and Distributed by RED Distribution through BFD on October 14, 2014.

On The Christmas Album, Human Nature recorded versions of such seasonal standards as “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)”, “Santa Claus is Coming To Town”, “White Christmas,” “Sleigh Ride,” and “Winter Wonderland,” all of which are stamped with Human Nature’s inimitable style and groove, with that special touch of soul they have. “Every year it seemed there was something about us doing Christmas and holiday songs that was a perfect fit,” explains Andrew. “We've collected a repertoire of Christmas songs over the years, but we just wanted to choose some of our favorite songs and also some songs that people may not be too familiar with.”

Among those lesser-known or forgotten gems are the Jackson 5’s “Give Love on Christmas Day” and Donny Hathaway’s “This Christmas.” Human Nature put their own spin on the classic tracks such as combining 'Silent Night' and 'O Holy Night' into one beautifully realized performance and a stunning a-capella take on “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” There’s an upbeat collaboration on “Sleigh Ride” with Robin Meade, a duet with Smokey Robinson on “Please Come Home for Christmas,” and a sweeping rendition of “Amazing Grace” with The Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. The album also carries an original number, “Christmas Without You.” The song, penned by Andrew, drips in the Motown sound which is now infused with Human Nature’s unique vocal DNA. “They’re definitely among the most loved Christmas songs of all time on the record, but there are some surprises on this album as well.” explains Andrew.

He cites “Christmas Baby Please Come Home” as “the benchmark for the rest of the record. I had always imagined us recording that song. The album was so much fun to do. Just a great time from beginning to end.”

With Christmas just around the corner, these four superlative vocalists are making their list and checking it twice for one of their most spirited album releases ever. Having become a successful pop group who honed their craft with yuletide tunes, it’s fitting they've finally recorded their first Christmas album. “When we started out busking on the streets as kids we were mostly singing Christmas songs. But somehow it took us more than 20 years to produce a full Christmas album,” explains Phil.

As high school friends – brothers Andrew and Michael Tierney, Toby Allen and Phil Burton – came up from street performers to national talent show phenoms and launched their professional careers in 1996 with a quadruple-platinum debut album selling more than 2 million albums in Australia alone while racking up a collection of #1 hits and awards.

Since signing with Sony Music Australia in 1995, Human Nature have released nine albums - five of which went to No. 1 in Australia. All told, they've achieved 23 platinum awards, 17 top 40 hits and five top 10 hits worldwide. In 2005, Human Nature released the five-time platinum album Reach Out – The Motown Record, a collection of Motown hits. It went on to become the highest-selling Australian album of 2006, according to ARIA, and it reached No. 1 on the US Billboard Heat Seekers chart.

This was followed up in 2006 with Dancing In The Street – The Songs of Motown II. The next year, Human Nature returned with Get Ready featuring such Motown superstars as Mary Wilson, Martha Reeves, The Temptations and Smokey Robinson.
