Matthew and Gunnar Nelson: This Christmas

The duo's first-ever holiday album will be available
digitally on Nov. 20 and in stores on Dec. 4

Celebrate "Christmas with the Nelsons" at shows across the country beginning on Nov. 20 in San Juan Capistrano, CA

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Matthew and Gunnar Nelson have achieved international success, with a double-Platinum album, multiple top 40 hits, including a No. 1 single, and sold-out concerts around the world on their list of accomplishments. Now, the duo are looking ahead to the next chapter, which begins with their first-ever holiday release, This Christmas. The album, currently available for pre-sale on iTunes and Amazon, will be available digitally starting on Nov. 20 and in stores on Dec. 4. More than just a collection of holiday songs, the album, which was produced by Matthew and Gunnar, affirms the power of their unique bond and family heritage.

"In addition to our original single 'THIS CHRISTMAS', we were able to rearrange Christmas classics that people the world over have loved like family members for generations,” said Matthew. “We've made them sound fresh and new while at the same time respecting their integrity and history. We're absolutely thrilled with the results, and hope our listeners will be too,” added Gunnar.

This Christmas Track Listing:
1. This Christmas (ft. Alyssa Bonagura)
2. Joy To The World
3. Santa Claus is Coming to Town (ft. Molly Cherryholmes)
4. Oh Come All Ye Faithful
5. Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree
6. Mele Kelikimaka (ft. Molly Cherryholmes)
7. Away In A Manger
8. Holly Jolly Christmas
9. Blue Christmas (ft. Molly Cherryholmes)
10. Jingle Bells
11. We Wish You A Merry Christmas (ft. Molly Cherryholmes)
12. White Christmas

An all-star support team added depth and dimension to the brothers' fundamental tracks, with Nashville studio veteran Ed Seay mixing and a lineup of musicians that included fiddle virtuoso Molly Cherryholmes and Michael Bonagura from Baillie & the Boys. Michael's daughter, singer/songwriter Alyssa Bonagura, plays a prominent vocal role on the title track, written by Matthew, Gunnar, Alyssa and Michael with an unusual narrative twist.

"It's a challenge to write a Christmas song that's not like something people have heard a million times before," Gunnar admitted. "So we started talking about this concept of two best friends that realize, on the night of miracles, that actually they're in love with each other and always have been. If miracles can happen on Christmas, maybe that's the night people in love can risk telling each other."

For all the wonders conjured throughout This Christmas -- the rich harmonies and imaginative thematic development in "Joy to the World," the fresh rhythmic perspective on "O Come All Ye Faithful," the intimacy of "White Christmas" – the title track most vividly forecasts what lies ahead.

Impeccably written, with a cascading motif adding a special shimmer to the story, it suggests that the Nelson brothers are about to pass their most significant career milestone since their debut.

"I believe we've reclaimed the same excitement we had before we made our first album," Matthew offered. "We were firing on all cylinders. We knew exactly what we wanted. We're there again -- two brothers with a vision and a sound that no one else has."

"We've made a conscious decision to come from the heart," Gunnar summed up. "It's amazing what happens when you stop fighting the universe and start doing what you were born to do."

For so many around the world, Christmas means rebirth. For Matthew and Gunnar Nelson, This Christmas heralds an adventure that's only beginning.

Mumford & Sons Can’t Get Enough Of The US; Announce Dates For The “An Arrow Through The Heartland Tour”

Mumford Sons are coming back to the US starting April 3 playing Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in the Space City itself, Houston (we don’t have a problem), Texas.   The four piece will be polishing off their tin stars as they go a-ridin into town, a-whompin and a-whumpin through Texas, the South and then shows in Midwest.   Says the band’s Ben Lovett, “Touring the United States of America in many ways fulfills the childhood dream of what touring might be like. Rolling from one great city to the next, each with its own personality and uniqueness whilst remaining familiar enough at the same time. Waking up every morning with a conversation amongst us about who wants to visit; bookshop or ultimate music shop or whatever the various cities had to offer”  Mumford & Sons will be on the road in support of their certified-gold album Wilder Mind. The last time they were in the United States, Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello, Blink 182’s Mark Hoppus, and T Bone Burnett were surprise guests on stage. Who knows who will be joining them onstage this time, but we do know that Blake Mills will be opening their shows with the exception of the show in Saratoga Springs.
Mumford & Sons coming to Scottrade Center Saturday, April 16 at 7:30 p.m. presented by Live Nation.

Tickets are $56.50 and went on sale Friday, November 13 at 10 a.m.
Tickets may be purchased at the Scottrade Center Box Office, all Ticketmaster Ticket Centers, by phone at 800-745-3000, or online at ticketmaster.com.

OLD DOMINION SERVES UP MEAT AND CANDY

Debut Album features Current No. 1 Country Radio Hit "Break Up With Him"

“Today, Old Dominion dropped Meat & Candy, their deceptively smart, occasionally cheeky, stellar debut.” –Entertainment Weekly

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (Nov. 6, 2015) – RCA Nashville’s Old Dominion released their highly anticipated debut album Meat and Candy, available everywhere yesterday. The GRAMMY Award-winning, Shane McAnally, produced the album that features the RIAA Gold certified “Break Up With Him,” which is currently the No. 1 song on the Billboard Country Airplay chart.

"... the five-piece band blends its well-oiled country songwriting chops with a rowdy rock aesthetic honed via a rollicking live show,” noted Vice Magazine.

Being that the members of Old Dominion have written hit songs for other artists such as Kenny Chesney, Dierks Bentley, Blake Shelton, Tyler Farr and The Band Perry, it comes as no surprise that they wrote every song on Meat and Candy, with “Break Up With Him” being the first song that all five band members wrote collectively as a group.

Leading up to today’s release the band that Billboard proclaimed ishelping usher in a new wave of country” has had several firsts. Before scoring their first No. 1 song at country radio as a group on Monday, they were tapped by NPR Music’s First Listen to stream Meat and Candy in its entirety, attended their first 49th Annual CMA Awards and now have their first album available for fans to buy.

To kick off a weeklong celebration of the release of Meat and Candy, Old Dominion will take their tour tonight to Tuscaloosa, Ala., and then on to Winston Salem, N.C., Indianapolis, Kansas City and then wrap up the full release week in Los Angeles on Thursday, Nov. 12.

No stranger to the road, by the end of 2015 Old Dominion will have performed over 170 shows which includes 18 stadium dates opening up for Kenny Chesney this summer on the Big Revival Tour. Furthermore, the band that’s comprised of lead singer Matthew Ramsey, multi-instrumentalist Trevor Rosen, drummer Whit Sellers, bassist Geoff Sprung and lead guitarist Brad Tursi will join Kenny Chesney head back out on the road in 2016 on Chesney’s Spread The Love Tour. In 2010, the band released their third studio album, Hands All Over, which featured the group's anthemic chart-topping smash single “Moves Like Jagger.” The song has since gone on to become one of the best-selling singles of all time. Maroon 5’s fourth album Overexposed quickly reinforced the group’s status as a powerhouse in popular music with all of its singles rising to the top of the charts and setting an all time record for the most #1s (six in total) by a group in the Top 40 chart’s 20-year history. In conjunction with that album, Maroon 5 wrapped one of the highest grossing tours of 2013 with over 50 million dollars in ticket sales.

“Raise ‘Em Up” by Keith Urban Featuring Eric Church Wins Musical Event of the Year; Maddie & Tae and Director TK McKamy Win Music Video of the Year for “Girl In A Country Song”
"Raise 'Em Up" by Keith Urban featuring Eric Church was named CMA Musical Event of the Year live on "Good Morning America" Wednesday from the Bridgestone Arena Plaza in Nashville.

NASHVILLE – Winners in two of the 12 CMA Awards categories were announced live on ABC News’ “Good Morning America” this morning from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, which is the site of “The 49th Annual CMA Awards.”
The news was delivered by GMA anchor Lara Spencer and welcomed by cheers from the thousands of fans gathered on the plaza at the Bridgestone Arena waiting to see three-time CMA Awards nominee Chris Stapleton, and a performance by Country superstar Tim McGraw.
“For a decade, ‘Good Morning America’ has set the tone for Country Music’s Biggest Night by jump starting the day with superstar performances from Nashville,” said Sarah Trahern, CMA Chief Executive Officer. “Announcing the winners in two of our categories is a great way to generate excitement and celebrate our artists and their music with fans across the country.”
Hosted by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood, “The 49th Annual CMA Awards” airs tonight (8:00-11:00 PM/ET) on the ABC Television Network.
Winning CMA Musical Event of the Year was Keith Urban and Eric Church for “Raise ‘Em Up.” This is Urban’s fourth win in the category. Previous wins include “Start A Band” with Paisley (2009); “Highway Don’t Care” with McGraw and Taylor Swift (2013); and We Were Us” with Miranda Lambert (2014). This win ties him with Vince Gill, McGraw, and Paisley for the most wins in the category. Urban is the only artist to win three years in a row.
"I've been real fortunate to get to collaborate with some great artists, but doing this song with Eric was truly magical," said Urban. "It's an incredible piece of songwriting, and we're both so grateful it's resonated the way it has! Big shout out to our fans and to Country radio and TV for all the support we've had along the way!"
One of the top nominees in 2015, this is Church’s second CMA Award – his first was for Album of the Year for Chief in 2012. His nominations include Entertainer, Male Vocalist, Single of the Year for “Talladega,” and Song of the Year for “Like A Wrecking Ball,” which he co-wrote with Casey Beathard
Winning CMA Music Video of the Year was Maddie & Tae and director TK McKamy for “Girl In A Country Song,” which generated widespread talk about gender role reversals, turning the tables on male/female lyrical stereotypes. Maddie Marlow and Taylor Dye, who recently turned 20, were just 17 when they penned the song. The pair received two additional nominations in 2015 including Vocal Duo and New Artist of the Year.
“I can’t even believe this!” said Marlow. “Last year, we were just excited to be going and being on the red carpet – and now we’ve got our first CMA Award?! That’s crazy, and awesome, and wow!”
Dye added, “This video was so much fun, but it also go a lot of people talking – and it says some stuff about what makes girls matter. I’m honored people saw it as we meant it: more than a joke, but proof you can speak your mind and not be mean.”
This marked the fourth year the categories were announced on “Good Morning America.” In previous years, the winners were announced in pre-televised activities and acknowledged during the CMA Awards broadcast. Frankie Ballard will host pre-tel ceremonies tonight and will present the trophies to the winners as well as Musician of the Year. In addition, Ballard will present two special industry honors and the CMA Broadcast Awards for Personality and Radio Station of the Year. The recipients will be acknowledged during the broadcast and participate in backstage media interviews.
MADDIE & TAE SCORE THEIR FIRST CMA AWARD!
“Girl In A Country Song” Takes Video of the Year on Good Morning America

First CMA Nomination/Win for Maddie & Tae + First Award of 49th Annual CMA Awards

Nashville, TN (November 4, 2015) – Tae Dye was still asleep. Maddie Marlow was on the couch in a t-shirt and slouchy pants, watching Good Morning America on ABC. Suddenly, the pair of songwriter sensations from Sugarland, Texas and Ada, Oklahoma were the first award winners for The 49th Annual CMA Awards.

“Oh, my… oh, wow… oh, OH, OH!” Maddie texted her team, “Tae and I just won a CMA!!” She followed the text with a video of her doing a happy dance because “Girl In A Country Song,” the pair’s gender-role-flipping video response to Bro Country, had just scored an upset for Video of the Year against Miranda Lambert’s “Little Red Wagon,” Little Big Town’s “Girl Crush,” Kacey Musgraves’ “Biscuits” and Carrie Underwood’s “Something In The Water.”

“We were just so glad to be nominated,” Tae said a few minutes later. “When you see all those amazing artists names, and you see yours, you think, ‘Wow.’ You don’t think about winning; you’re just glad to be there. But to win? That’s crazy.”

“Girl In A Country Song” took America by storm when it was released last fall. Media attention from The New Yorker to Entertainment Weekly, Rolling Stone to Atlantic Monthly to The Village Voice took Country where it rarely appeared – and Country radio agreed, making this only the third female duo in Billboard Country chart history to have a #1 debut single. The pair were recently honored with the NSAI's “10 Songs I Wish I Had Written.”

But it was the video – directed by TK McKamy – that really captured the spark. At a time when females in Country songs were mute Barbie dolls, Maddie & Tae turned the tables on real boys by casting some normal guys as video vixens. Or as NPR’s Ann Powers wrote of the power pair, “Maddie & Tae are more. They’re songwriters, powerful harmonizers…and in the video for ‘Girl In A Country Song,’ natural comediennes.”

“This video was so much fun, but it also got a lot of people talking,” Tae explained. “And it really says some stuff about what makes girls matter. I’m honored people saw it as we meant it: more than a joke, but proof you can speak you mind and not be mean.”

“Our parents raised us to stand up for ourselves,” Maddie continued. “To never let anyone tell us you can’t – as long as you do the work – and to know that what makes you matter is what’s inside your heart! We’re funny and smart and we have things to say, and with ‘Girl In A Country Song,’ especially the video, we did that!”

Surpassing 28 million VEVO views, “Girl In A Country Song” is not just one of Country music’s most talked about videos, it’s also one of the genre’s most watched. Believing there’s a place for plucky girls, Maddie & Tae have been smashing stereotypes and empowering young women since their first single dropped late last year.

After finishing Dierks Bentley’s SOUNDS OF SUMMER TOUR, they kicked off a headlining tour at NYC’s Highline Ballroom to strong reviews as Rolling Stone raved, “Maddie & Tae Launch Headlining Tour With Precocious Wisdom, Wit.” Now with their first CMA Award, they head into tonight’s show – airing live on ABC at 8/7c
vying for another win as Vocal Duo and New Artist nominees.

Kenny Chesney Spreads More Stadium Love

First Addition To 2016 Tour Is Louisville’s Cardinal Stadium May 28

Nashville, Tenn ( Nov. 4, 2015) - With 11 stadiums already on the books for Kenny Chesney’s 2016 Spread the Love Tour, the 8-time Entertainer of the Year is already announcing an addition to that line-up. On Saturday, May 28, Chesney will hit Louisville’s Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium for an all day celebration of fun, friends and music.

“You don’t wanna overdo the stadium thing to where it’s not special,” Chesney says of the latest addition to next year’s schedule. “But being outside in Louisville is one of those places where the music hits the night, and it’s not the same as being inside. As we’re looking at the routings and our history, I’m really glad we’re gonna be playing Cardinal Stadium ‘cause as great as the Yum! Center was, I think we’re gonna top that show!”

Having broken nine attendance records – many his own – and selling in excess of 1.3 million tickets on The Big Revival Tour, the man The Wall Street Journal called “The King of the Road” is serious about amping up the energy of last year’s audiences. Kicking off Spread the Love with April 23’s concert at Auburn’s Jordan-Hare Stadium, this is going to be a summer that takes no prisoners in terms of how he hits that stage.

“Last year, we stripped things back and we really learned how to push the energy between us and the crowd,” Chesney says of his focus coming into this year. “So getting ready for this year, we’re gonna keep the music a big part of it, and how the fans lean into those songs – the singing, cheering, dancing – so it’s all about that! When you see Miranda (Lambert), Sam (Hunt) and Old Dominion – you know those are all people who take connecting with the audience through their songs as seriously as I do.”

Still more stadiums will be announced. For now, though, it’s a dozen stadiums and counting for the songwriter from East Tennessee who so many set their summers by. Called “Two parts Mick Jagger, one part Bruce Springsteen and one part Billy Graham” by the Dallas Morning News this summer, Chesney is all about the live connection that music makes between people – and the further he can push the energy and the memory-making, the happier he is about being out on the road.

“Let’s face it,” he says, “we all have those songs that mark or define our lives. Those songs are literally the soundtrack of our memories, and the only thing better than having those songs is sharing them with friends. Since we started hitting the road as headliner, people have made our shows the meet-up point for friends, for family and even for people they’ve met in our parking lots over the years. I’ve seen people come back summer-after-summer, get engaged, get married, have kids and really come into their own.

“Those stadium shows really bring that home, and there’s nothing like them.”

Chesney is the only country artist on Billboard’s Top 10 Touring Acts of the Last 25 Years – in spite of only being a headliner for the last dozen. With Spread the Love, he’s planning to take it up a notch, and now Louisville’s part of Chesney’s summer 2016.

Experience Hendrix tour, featuring Zakk Wylde, Buddy Guy and a crew of favorites to hit the Fox Theatre in March

Buddy Guy, Zakk Wylde, Jonny Lang, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Eric Johnson and Dweezil Zappa are among the axemen assembling for evenings of guitar brilliance in 2016 for dates on the Experience Hendrix Tour, making a stop at the Fox Theatre in St Louis on March 8.

In its second decade, the “Experience Hendrix Tour” is as much a celebration of Jimi Hendrix as it is an exploration of the guitar with the musicians performing their takes on classic numbers such as “Voodoo Child (Slight Return)” and “Purple Haze.”
Heading up the rhythm section will be Billy Cox, who played bass for the Jimi Hendrix Experience and Band of Gypsys.
But Cox won’t be the only musician in the room with a direct connection to Hendrix.  Buddy Guy, who served as an inspiration to Hendrix, was also a personal friend of the guitarist who defined electric guitar in the late ’60s-early ’70s and inspired just about every axeman that followed.
The tour sees its fair share of musicians returning for more action.  Dweezil Zappa is returning for his third Experience Hendrix road trip and Guy climbing onboard the ol’ tour bus for his sixth adventure. Then there’s Kenny Wayne Shepherd who has been on every Experience Hendrix Tour since it began in 2004.
“As far back as I can remember, I’ve been listening to Jimi Hendrix,” Shepherd said.  “He has had an enormous influence on me as both a guitar player and a songwriter.  He was always trying new things and pushing musical boundaries, which enabled and encouraged me to push the boundaries in my music.  The Experience Hendrix Tour is an amazing tribute to the greatest guitar player of all time, featuring some of the greatest musicians in the world today.”

Fueled By Ramen recording group Twenty One Pilots will be returning to the U.S. this summer for a massive headline tour.  The “EMØTIØNAL RØADSHØW” tour will see the band bringing their explosive live show to arenas and amphitheaters across the country and is set to kick off on May 31st at Cincinnati, OH’s US Bank Arena. The summer‐long trek includes the chart topping duo’s biggest headlining shows in North America to date and will culminate with a special performance at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on August 10th (see attached itinerary).  Tickets for all dates will go on sale Friday, October 30th with additional dates to be announced shortly. For complete details and more information please visit www.twentyonepilots.com/tour.

Twenty One Pilot’s current “Blurryface Tour” has proven to be a phenomenal success with all dates swiftly selling out.   Highlights  from  the  road  have  included  a  stunning  two  night  stand  at New  York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom,  capacity crowds at Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheater and Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre as well as a victorious homecoming performance at Columbus, OH’s Schottenstein Center.     Furthermore, 2015 has also seen the duo of Tyler Joseph (vocals/piano) and Josh Dun (drums) performing top billed sets at Las Vegas, NV’s Life Is Beautiful, Austin, TX’s ACL Music Festival and Chicago, IL’s Lollapalooza where Rolling Stone declared the band to be among the “40 Best Things We Saw At Lollapalooza,” writing “(Twenty One Pilots) has succeeded as much as any band in recent history when it comes to over‐inclusion. By trying on nearly everything in the pop‐music spectrum (as well as nearly every form of headgear), (Tyler) Joseph and Josh Dun yielded huge, if unlikely, success.”

What’s more, the group recently performed “Tear In My Heart” at the 2015 MTV European Music Awards where they  also  received  a  nomination  for  “Best  Alternative.”    The monumental  performance  can  be  viewed  at http://tv.mtvema.com/video/mediabus‐fcs‐flow/hxxzi0.

Meanwhile, following the massive success of their #2 Alternative radio smash “Tear In My Heart,” Twenty One Pilots’ new single “Stressed Out” is rapidly climbing the Alternative radio chart. The track which is currently #3 at Alternative Radio has earned more than 28 million streams thus far while its companion video – directed by the band’s longtime collaborators at Reel Bear Media (“Fairly Local,” “Lane Boy,” “Car Radio,” “Guns For Hands”) –  has  scored  over  23  million  views  and  counting  at  Twenty  One  Pilots’  official  YouTube  channel, www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXRviuL6vMY.   “BLURRYFACE” – which follows Twenty One Pilots’ 2013 Fueled By Ramen debut, “VESSEL” – made a stunning chart  debut  upon  its  arrival  earlier  this  year,  entering  the  SoundScan/Billboard  200  at  #1 with  total  sales exceeding 147,000 and affirmed the duo as an international breakthrough, reaching the top 5 in Canada as well as the top 20 in Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. \

ARNOLD PALMER TO RECEIVE LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD FOR SPORTSMANSHIP AT THE MUSIAL AWARDS
IN ST. LOUIS ON DEC. 5

LAUREN HILL TO BE HONORED POSTHUMOUSLY WITH EXTRAORDINARY CHARACTER AWARD

TICKETS ON SALE TOMORROW FOR SHOW CELEBRATING
STAN THE MAN’S LEGACY AND ALL THAT’S RIGHT IN SPORTS

ST. LOUIS – Oct. 19, 2015 – The golf legend known as “The King” is receiving the ultimate award named for “The Man.”  Arnold Palmer will accept the Stan Musial Lifetime Achievement Award – the pinnacle honor for sportsmanship – at the Musial Awards in St. Louis on Saturday, Dec. 5.

Hosted annually at the Peabody Opera House in downtown St. Louis, the Musial Awards – presented by Maryville University – honor Stan the Man’s legacy by celebrating the year’s greatest moments of sportsmanship from throughout North America.  The program showcases remarkable examples of character, kindness, selflessness and integrity in sports – virtues Musial embodied.

The Lifetime Achievement Award is one of two special awards bestowed at the event.  It recognizes an iconic sports figure whose career is defined by class, dignity, generosity and excellence.  Like Musial, Palmer epitomizes those qualities.  One of the most popular and accessible sports figures, Palmer built an army of admirers through his down-to-earth, personable approach on and off the golf course.  His success in the sport – seven major championships including four Masters titles – is matched by his kindness and philanthropic commitment.  Palmer’s generosity has touched many across the nation.

In addition to being legendary ambassadors of their respective sports, Palmer and Musial are linked by their Western Pennsylvania roots – making it all the more fitting for the golfing great to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award named for Stan.

“I am humbled by the honor and its connection to Stan Musial and sportsmanship,” Palmer said.  “Stan and I were very good friends for many years.  He was one of my boyhood heroes and a man I came to admire even more in later years when our paths crossed fairly often.”

St. Louisan and United States Golf Association President Tom O’Toole Jr. will join the Musial family in presenting the Lifetime Achievement Award to Palmer at the Musial Awards.  O’Toole said, “Arnold Palmer is one of the greatest sports icons of all time, not only because of the competitions he won, but also because of the class and character he has exuded throughout his life.  Arnold treats everyone with the utmost courtesy and respect.  Stan was that way too, and it is why they are both so beloved.”

Palmer is the second recipient of the Musial Lifetime Achievement Award for Sportsmanship.  Baseball Hall of Famer Joe Torre accepted the inaugural honor at the Musial Awards in 2014.

HONORING LAUREN HILL:

The event’s other special award, the Musial Award for Extraordinary Character, will posthumously honor Lauren Hill, the college basketball player whose grace and determination inspired people around the world.

Diagnosed with terminal brain cancer at age 18, Hill made headlines last November when she fulfilled her goal to play in a college basketball game for Mount Saint Joseph University and score a basket.  A gesture of sportsmanship helped make that happen.   Mount Saint Joseph’s opponent, Hiram College, not only moved the contest up two weeks, the school also gave up its home court advantage so Hill could play in front of family and friends.  As it turned out, 10,000 fans showed up for the game at the Cintas Center in Cincinnati.

Hill fought a courageous battle against her disease and launched a tireless effort to generate awareness and funds for cancer research.  Prior to passing away in April, she raised more than $1.4 million through her LayupForLauren challenge, jersey sales and donations.

Hill’s parents, Lisa and Brent, will attend the Musial Awards to accept the Extraordinary Character award on their daughter’s behalf.  Presented last year to Little League World Series star Mo’ne Davis, the award recognizes an individual or team who demonstrates remarkable poise, perseverance and overall sportsmanship.  Lauren Hill personified all those traits and more.

“It is so meaningful to the Musial family that this year’s Lifetime Achievement and Extraordinary Character awards are being presented to Arnold Palmer and posthumously to Lauren Hill,” said Jean Musial Edmonds, Stan’s daughter.  “My dad had such great respect for Arnold and would be so thrilled to know he is receiving the award.  We also are honored to celebrate Lauren Hill and her courageous and generous spirit, and we’re grateful that her parents Lisa and Brent will be with us at the Musial Awards.”

In addition to the Lifetime Achievement and Extraordinary Character awards, the Musial Awards will recognize several other individuals connected to the most inspiring stories of sportsmanship in 2015.  The complete list of this year’s award recipients will be announced in early November.

MUSIAL AWARDS TICKETS:

Tickets for the Musial Awards go on sale at 10 a.m. tomorrow (Tuesday, Oct. 20).  Tickets are $50 (orchestra level seating) and $30 (mezzanine level seating), and can be purchased online at www.ticketmaster.com, at the Scottrade Center Box Office, all Ticketmaster Ticket Centers, or by phone at 800-745-3000.  Additional service fees may apply.

The Musial Awards also offers all-inclusive tickets and packages that provide prime seating for the awards show plus access to a pre-show dinner, reserved parking and more.  Information can be obtained at www.MusialAwards.com or by contacting Emily Thompson at 314-345-5111 and ethompson@stlsports.org.

In addition to the live awards show on Dec. 5, the Musial Awards will air as a primetime one-hour television special on KSDK-TV NewsChannel 5, St. Louis’ NBC affiliate, on Wednesday, Dec. 16 at 7 p.m.  An encore presentation will air on Christmas Day at noon.

The Musial Awards is produced by the St. Louis Sports Commission and the National Sportsmanship Foundation.  This marks the 10th year the event has taken place in St. Louis.  Show time on Dec. 5 is 7:30 p.m.

The St. Louis Sports Commission is the privately-funded nonprofit organization that grows, strengthens and moves St. Louis forward through sports.  The organization uses the power of sports to enhance the area’s quality of life and generate economic and social benefit for the St. Louis region.
