Experience Hendrix tour, featuring Zakk Wylde, Buddy Guy and a crew of favorites to hit the Fox Theatre in March

Buddy Guy, Zakk Wylde, Jonny Lang, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Eric Johnson and Dweezil Zappa are among the axemen assembling for evenings of guitar brilliance in 2016 for dates on the Experience Hendrix Tour, making a stop at the Fox Theatre in St Louis on March 8.

In its second decade, the “Experience Hendrix Tour” is as much a celebration of Jimi Hendrix as it is an exploration of the guitar with the musicians performing their takes on classic numbers such as “Voodoo Child (Slight Return)” and “Purple Haze.”
Heading up the rhythm section will be Billy Cox, who played bass for the Jimi Hendrix Experience and Band of Gypsys.
But Cox won’t be the only musician in the room with a direct connection to Hendrix.  Buddy Guy, who served as an inspiration to Hendrix, was also a personal friend of the guitarist who defined electric guitar in the late ’60s-early ’70s and inspired just about every axeman that followed.
The tour sees its fair share of musicians returning for more action.  Dweezil Zappa is returning for his third Experience Hendrix road trip and Guy climbing onboard the ol’ tour bus for his sixth adventure. Then there’s Kenny Wayne Shepherd who has been on every Experience Hendrix Tour since it began in 2004.
“As far back as I can remember, I’ve been listening to Jimi Hendrix,” Shepherd said.  “He has had an enormous influence on me as both a guitar player and a songwriter.  He was always trying new things and pushing musical boundaries, which enabled and encouraged me to push the boundaries in my music.  The Experience Hendrix Tour is an amazing tribute to the greatest guitar player of all time, featuring some of the greatest musicians in the world today.”
The tour also features guitarist Mato Nanji of Indigenous, vocalists Henri Brown and Noah Hunt, and drummer Chris Layton, who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble.  The tour’s special guest list includes Keb’ Mo’, Doyle Bramhall II, Ana Popovic, and The Slide Brothers appearing on select dates.

GRAMMY-nominated Joe Bonamassa to Release New Solo Album "Different Shades Of Blue" on September 23

Guitar superstar writes all-new record with Nashville greats

Fans use social media to catapult guitarist to #1 in the world

LOS ANGELES,  -- GRAMMY-nominated guitar superstar Joe Bonamassa announces today his brand new solo album Different Shades Of Blue (J&R Adventures) to be released September 23, 2014. This is Bonamassa's first studio album in two years and the first album of his career to feature all original material. The result is a record with more of an experimental edge than previous Bonamassa records. It's a blues record that explores the outer reaches and the many different sounds that shape the genre.
"It's been a while since I've been involved in the writing on an entire album. So I decided I wanted to make a completely original blues album," said Bonamassa. "I've really had to push myself to make everything I do better than the last project. I know the fans expect it. And I feel like I owe it to the fans to give them an original record after all these years."
Click here for updates on Different Shades Of Blue and a free download from Joe's last #1 Billboard album Driving Towards The Daylight: www.jbonamassa.com/dttd/?id=DSOBpr.
To prepare for the record, Bonamassa took 2013 off from releasing any new studio material, a rarity in the tireless bluesman's career, and instead spent time in Nashville writing with Jonathan Cain (Journey), known for hits "Who's Crying Now," "Open Arms," and "When You Love A Woman;" James House (Diamond Rio, Dwight Yoakam, Martina McBride), and Jerry Flowers (Keith Urban).
"The writers really inspired me, and having access to really great lyricists and songwriters made it such a great experience," said Bonamassa.
Recorded at Studio At The Palms in Las Vegas, NV, Different Shades Of Blue was produced by Kevin Shirley (Black Crowes, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin), who has helmed Bonamassa's last fifteen projects including his solo projects and collaborations with Black Country Communion and Beth Hart. To compliment Bonamassa's signature guitar style and vocals, Shirley brought together a group of musicians including Reese Wynans (organ, piano), Carmine Rojas (bass), Michael Rhodes (bass), Anton Fig (drums, percussion), Lenny Castro (percussion), Lee Thornburg (trumpet, trombone), Ron Dziubla (saxophone), the Bovaland Orchestra (strings), and Doug Henthorn and Melanie Williams (background vocals).
"It's definitely my favorite Joe Bonamassa record to date," said Shirley. "It's an album that deserves to be listened to in its entirety. Luckily Joe's fan base really seems to appreciate a body of work and not just songs."
Each year, Bonamassa strives to deliver something new for his fans to thank them for their loyalty, dedication, and enthusiastic activity on Twitter, YouTube, Instagram and Facebook which has helped grow the guitarist's reputation exponentially in the U.S. and abroad.
Shirley said, "I think Joe has learned the value of not underestimating his audience. He plays music as well as he can, and always tries to bring music of depth to his audience. We try very hard to make the records as multidimensional as possible and really try not to cut any corners in delivering them."
Bonamassa has twelve #1 Billboard Blues Albums (more than any other artist) and received his first GRAMMY nomination in 2013 for his collaboration with Beth Hart on the duo's sophomore album Seesaw. His 2013 solo acoustic project An Acoustic Evening at the Vienna Opera House was nominated by the Blues Music Awards for Best DVD and his 2009 DVD Live From The Royal Albert Hall recently received RIAA Platinum Certification.

The O'Jays and Chaka Kahn coming to The Fox

The O'Jays are living legends…American treasures. The term "living legend" is often overused and abused, but with The O'Jays, well, there's little argument that the honorable tag truly applies. With their place in modern music secure, The O'Jays could have cruise-controlled to that comfy hammock on a sandy beach, umbrella-decorated drinks in hand. Why? (1) An ocean-wide body of work that spawned 24 Top Ten smashes and 59 total charted songs. (2) Incredibly energetic and dynamic live shows. (3) Mad respect for their Olympian vocals. And (4) their social and political impact on generations and nations.??But doing things slowly is not Eddie Levert, Sr., Walter Williams, Sr. and Eric Nolan Grant’s modus operandi. After 40+ years making such international hits as "Back Stabbers," "For The Love Of Money," "Darlin' Darlin' Baby," "Love Train," "I Love Music," "Use Ta Be My Girl" and "Have You Had Your Love Today,".

There have been “four faces” of The O’Jays. This vocal group from Canton, Ohio originated with Eddie Levert, SR., Walter Williams, SR., William Powell, Bobby Massey and Bill Isles and they were named after Cleveland DJ Eddie O’Jay. Isles left the group in 1965. Massey left to become a record producer in 1971 and Levert, Williams and Powell continues as a trio. Powell retired from touring due to illness in late 1975, passing at the age of 35 in 1977 and was replaced by Sammy Strain, formerly with Little Anthony & The Imperials. Strain returned to his former group in 1993 and was replaced by Nathaniel Best. After the departure in 1995 of Nathaniel Best, Eddie Levert, SR. and Walter Williams, SR. reached out to Eric Nolan Grant, a gifted vocalist who was already a part of the group’s extended Cleveland-based musical family. Their chart-topping album “Love You To Tears” marked Grant’s first appearance with the group.

Chaka Khan is one of the world's most gifted and celebrated musicians, with a rich musical legacy, the 10-time GRAMMY® Award-winner is looking forward to a celebration of a lifetime. A songwriter, actor, author, philanthropist, entrepreneur and activist, Chaka Khan has influenced generations of recording artists. She has the rare ability to sing in seven music genres, including R&B, pop, rock, gospel, country, world music and classical. Affectionately known around the world as Chaka, she is revered by millions of fans as well as her peers for her timeless, classic and unmatched signature music style and ability. The late, great Miles Davis often said, "She [Chaka] sings like my horn." And the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin says, "[Chaka] is a one- of- a -kind, premier vocalist."

'We Will Rock You,' Queen musical plays the Fabulous Fox Theatre through Sunday

The time is the future, in a place that was once called Earth. Globalisation is complete.

Everywhere, the kids watch the same movies, wear the same fashions and think the same thoughts. It’s a safe, happy, Ga Ga world. Unless you’re a rebel. Unless you want to Rock. On iPlanet all the musical instruments are banned. The Company Computers generate tunes and everybody downloads them. It is an age of Boy Bands and of Girl Bands. Of Boy and Girl Bands. Of Girl Bands with a couple of boys in them that look like girls anyway. Nothing is left to chance, hits are scheduled years in advance.
Caught in a landslide, no escape from reality.
But Resistance is growing. Underneath the gleaming cities, down in the lower depths live the Bohemians. Rebels who believe that there was once a Golden Age when the kids formed their own bands and write their own songs. They call that time, The Rhapsody.
Open your eyes, look up to the skies and see.
Legend persists that somewhere on iPlanet instruments still exist. Somewhere, the mighty axe of a great and hairy guitar god lies buried deep in rock. The Bohemians need a hero to find this axe and draw it from stone. Is the one who calls himself Galileo that man?
He’s just a poor boy. From a poor family.
But the Ga Ga Cops are also looking for Galileo and if they get him first they will surely drag him before the Killer Queen and consign him to Oblivion across the Seven Seas of Rhye. Who is Galileo? Where is the Hairy One’s lost axe? Where is the place of living rock?
Any way the wind blows.

The ‘rock theatrical’, built around 24 of Queen’s biggest hits delivered in a show that boasts the scale and electrifying spectacle that marked the bands’ legendary live performances, will launch a national tour in Baltimore, MD, at the France-Merrick Performing Arts Center, in October 2013.
This hilarious, multi-award-winning and record-breaking phenomenon is created by celebrated British comedian and writer Ben Elton (TV’s "Mr. Bean" and "The Young Ones"), and boasts a fantastic score of Queen’s biggest songs including "Another One Bites The Dust", "Crazy Little Thing Called Love", "We Are The Champions," "Bohemian Rhapsody" and, of course, "We Will Rock You".
Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor are musical supervisors to the show, taking an active role in casting the singer/actors and musicians for every production worldwide. On occasion, they have made surprise appearances with the cast to uproars of delight from the audience.
Unprecedented success around the world has now paved the way for We Will Rock You to launch its first North American tour.
The show is in its 11th year at The Dominion in London’s West End, one of London Theatreland’s biggest theatres, making it the venue’s longest-running production ever. The previous record holder was the original production of Robert Stigwood’s Grease which ran at the Dominion for 3 years and 3 months. We Will Rock You is now officially the 9th longest running show in the West End.
At the 2011 Olivier Awards, the UK equivalent of the Tony Awards, We Will Rock You was crowned the UK’s favorite show. In the only award category voted entirely by members of the public, the musical came out on top, beating a shortlist including Billy Elliot, Jersey Boys and Les Misérables.
Outside of the UK, the show has now been seen in local productions in 17 countries, playing to an audience of over 15 million people.
The complete North American tour route will be announced in the coming months.
We Will Rock You takes place in a future age on a planet once called Earth that is now controlled by a mighty corporation. Globalization is complete. Individuality is taboo. Everyone watches the same movies, wears the same clothes and thinks the same thoughts. Music is generated by the corporation’s computers, rock music is unheard and all musical instruments are banned. The hope of breaking free rests with an unlikely resistance – an alliance of rebel Bohemians, waiting for a hero to lead the battle to bring the power of rock back to the people.
"This show is all about legend," says Ben Elton. "We take the legend of Queen and create our own fantastical story of young kids battling the mighty corporation who wants to suppress their individuality and their love of music. They need a hero who can help them in their struggle, and we have two – the dreamer Galileo, and the sassy rock chick Scaramouche. Guess who ends up winning?"
"Creating the show with Ben was very much a three-way thing," says Roger Taylor. "It was great because he was a pleasure to work with and because he has such a fertile mind. He never stops churning out ideas."
Elton updates his book regularly, keeping the satirical edge of his script totally relevant to the time and location of the production.
Brian May adds, "The amazing bonus is that Ben's script subtly works as a metaphor too. People definitely come out of the theatre feeling that in a strange way they now know us, Queen, and our struggle, our journey."

In a future age of mindless manufactured music, where everyone dresses the same, thinks the same, is the same, hope of breaking free rests with an unlikely resistance - an alliance of rebel Bohemians deep below iPlanet, waiting for a hero to bring the power of Rock back to the people. And in Galileo they may just have found their man… that is, unless the terrifying Killer Queen gets to him first, or even worse, he's actually found somebody to love…
WE WILL ROCK YOU features the greatest hits of the legendary British rock group, Queen. Now in its 11th year in London and seen by a staggering 15 million people worldwide, this hilarious, multi-award-winning and record-breaking phenomenon is written by celebrated British comedian Ben Elton and boasts a fantastic score of killer Queen tunes that you just can't resist singing along to, such as “Another One Bites The Dust,” “Crazy Little Thing Called Love,” “We Are The Champions,” “Bohemian Rhapsody” and, of course, “We Will Rock You.” It's the world champion of musicals and the show that rocks harder than any other, so don't miss the party - book your tickets now at www.wewillrockyou.com

Charlie's TWO NAACP Image Awards Nominations
A big congratulations to Charlie on earning two NAACP Image Awards Nominations for Outstanding Male Artist and Outstanding Album for Love Charlie! Be sure to wish him congrats!

"I'm really excited about working with Pharrell and Justin Timberlake again and then, of course, Kanye," the R&B legend says

Charlie Wilson plans to hit the studio again this month, and the R&B veteran and former Gap Band member has big plans for his follow-up to 2013's "Love, Charlie."
"This time I'm gonna go back to some of my favorite nephews who have some really big records out right now," Wilson told Billboard Magazine last week. "I'm really excited about working with Pharrell again and Justin Timberlake again and then, of course, Kanye (West). And there's a lot of people I've always wanted to work with -- Jimmy Jam and Terry (Lewis), L.A. (Reid) and Babyface, and Teddy Riley. There's some guys I've always wanted to work with that maybe this time around I might get a chance to pull them in."
Still burning rubber on stage, the energetic Wilson averages 75-100 shows a year between concert tours, festivals and private events. He will play at the Fabulous Fox Theatre in St Louis on Saturday night
He also finds time to give back. Wilson remains committed to promoting awareness and educating the male community about prostate cancer. A survivor of a disease that afflicts one in six American men—and one in three African-American men—Wilson became a spokesperson for the Prostate Cancer Foundation in 2008. In April 2012 he announced his partnership with Janssen Biotech to launch the company’s Making Awareness A Priority (M.A.P.) campaign. The program brings together leading voices in advocacy and health education through live events in select cities across the country (www.myprostatecancerroadmap.com).

Since its inception in 2004, Celtic Woman has emerged as both a spectacular commercial success and a genuine cultural phenomenon.  The group's uplifting mix of timeless tradition and contemporary craft has transcended national and cultural borders to touch the hearts of a loyal international fan base, who've embraced Celtic Woman's hugely successful public television specials and made their eight CDs and seven DVDs into multi-platinum best-sellers.  The multitalented ensemble has sold more than eight million copies of its releases, all of which have debuted at #1 on Billboard's World Music chart.  As a live act, they continue to sell out concert halls around the world, having performed for nearly three million fans.

Celtic Woman has won a particularly passionate audience in America, where their elaborately staged, visually stunning concert tours consistently draw sellout crowds.  The group has performed twice at the White House, as well as making high-profile appearances on such American television shows as Dancing with the Stars and the daytime drama The Bold and the Beautiful.

Celtic Woman recently completed a successful month-long tour of European concerts, encompassing performances in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium and Switzerland.  The busy group is currently preparing for its third annual holiday tour of North America, accompanied by a full symphony orchestra.  The group then plans to kick off 2014 with a rare tour of Australia.

Singing songs of love, loss, hope and inspiration, Celtic Woman celebrates Ireland's centuries-old musical and cultural traditions, while taking advantage of the limitless options of state-of-the-art stage production.  The result is a breathtaking musical and theatrical experience to be enjoyed by multiple generations of concertgoers.

When disco diva Deloris Van Cartier witnesses a murder, she is put in protective custody in the one place cops are sure she won't be found - a convent!  Disguised as a nun, she finds herself at odds with both the rigid lifestyle and an uptight Mother Superior.  Using her fabulous disco-ness and killer voice to inspire the choir, Deloris breathes new life into the church, but in doing so blows her cover.  Soon it’s nun-on-the-run time but she finds salvation in the heavenly power of her newly found sisterhood.  Based on the mega-hit feature film, SISTER ACT features an original Alan Menken/Glenn Slater score with a vast inspiration of musical styles from Motown, soul and funk to great big disco anthems and Barry White inspired musical comedy.

SISTER ACT features scenery by Klara Zieglerova, costumes by Lez Brotherston, lighting by Natasha Katz, and sound by John Shivers.  The music department includes Musical Supervisor Michael Kosarin, Music Director Brent-Alan Huffman, and orchestrations by Doug Besterman.
Elisabeth Vincentelli of The New York Post calls SISTER ACT, “One of the season’s happiest surprises! Off the charts and packed with goodies, to which we say: Amen!” Joe Dziemianowicz of The New York Daily News raves “A blessed event has landed on Broadway. Sister Act is a feel-good crowd pleaser worth celebrating. It keeps on purring from one happy moment to the next.”  Charles Isherwood of The New York Times says, “When the wimples start quivering and the nuns start rocking to raise the Gothic rafters, all’s right in the kingdom of musical comedy!” and Mark Kennedy of The Associated Press calls SISTER ACT, “In a word, divine. This is a musical that hits all the right spots, achieving something close to Broadway grace. It will convert you.”

Robin Thicke has established himself as one of the most respected singer-songwriters in soul and R&B music today. The musician, composer, and actor, released his critically acclaimed debut album, A Beautiful World, in 2003 under the name “Thicke.” Soon after, he came out with his breakthrough second release, 2006’s The Evolution Of Robin Thicke. Now on the way to double platinum status, Evolution’s mega hit “Lost Without U” became the #1 most played song in Urban Adult Contemporary BDS and topped four Billboard charts simultaneously. The award-winning multiplatinum superstar returned to center stage in 2008 with Something Else, a joyful and modern tribute to the ‘70s soul and pop records that have inspired an extraordinary career. Revered by critics as one of the best soul albums in years, this ‘70s-inspired album dealt with racism, poverty, and love in the hits “Dreamworld,” “Magic,” and “The Sweetest Love.” In December of 2009 Robin released Sex Therapy. The title song was hailed by critics as “the sexiest song of the year.” Robin’s fifth studio album, Love After War was released in December of 2011.
