NASHVILLE, TN - - Reigning ACM Vocal Group of the Year, THE BAND PERRY, received a nomination for the 2015 Academy of Country Music Awards.   The award-winning trio was once again nominated in the Vocal Group of the Year category.  The nominations were announced early this morning across the ACM's Facebook, Instagram and Twitter feeds.  The 50TH Academy of Country Music Awards, Country Music's Party of the Year®, will be broadcast LIVE from AT&T Stadium in North Texas on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at 8:00 PM live ET/delayed PT on the CBS Television Network.  

"We had just landed back in Tennessee early this morning when we found out about our nomination," said the members of The Band Perry.  "The recognition by the Academy of Country Music never fails to surprise us and we are grateful to the ACM, our musical peers and most of all to our fans in country music."

The Band Perry will also make an appearance at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards® in Los Angeles.  The trio is nominated in the category of Best Country Duo/Group Performance for their single "Gentle On My Mind," a spirited rendition of the Glen Campbell classic which isprominently featured on the soundtrack to the James Keach directed documentary Glen Campbell:  I'll Be Me.   The 57th Annual Grammy Awards®will be televised from the Staples Center at 8PM ET/PT on CBS.

In other news from The Band Perry, Kimberly, Reid and Neil were just added to the line-up for and will perform on Stevie Wonder:  Songs In The Key Of Life - An All-Star Grammy Salute.  They will share the stage with some of music's finest including Janelle Monae, Lady Gaga, Usher, Ed Sheeran, Ariana Grande, John Legend and more.   The show will tape on February 10th at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles and air Monday February 16th from 9-11PM ET/PT on CBS.

BRANTLEY GILBERT GETS PERSONAL WITH
“ONE HELL OF AN AMEN”
 

Watch Brand New Video Dedicated to the Memories of Close Friend and Military Hero

 

NASHVILLE  – Known for his patriotism and true-to-life storytelling, Platinum-selling BRANTLEY GILBERT is getting personal with his latest single, “One Hell of an Amen,” which is already gaining buzz from BG nation on social media. The brand new video pays tribute to the song he penned in honor of two brave men whose separate legacies prove to be as strong as their fights. One being Brantley’s close friend, Kory, who lost his battle with Leukemia while courageously telling his doctors to “bring it on.” The other is a hometown hero’s best friend named Jon who was killed in combat while defending others in Iraq. The Georgia native explained the inspiration behind “One Hell of an Amen” during a recent Google+ Hangout,

“One of my dear friends back home, Josh, went to Iraq on several tours,” said Brantley. “He had a best friend over there who passed away just a couple feet from where he was positioned. Josh told me the story and it made me feel like I was right there with him. I try not to write songs about things I haven’t been through or experienced, but the way Josh told me the story…it punched me in the chest.”

Brantley once again teamed up with director SHANE DRAKE, who spearheaded the singer’s previous video, “Small Town Throwdown” ft. labelmates Justin Moore and Thomas Rhett.

Splitting scenes between a graveyard and an old church, Shane incorporated real-life elements into the narrative structure of the music video, using photos and mementos from Kory and Jon’s families. In a reverent scene depicting the bravery needed to face cancer, Shane used Kory’s beloved “Bring It On” bandana to serve as a reminder to “fight the good fight until the good Lord calls you home.” This was the guiding principal Kory lived by and one of Brantley’s favorite lyrics in the ballad.

“It’s easy to say the song’s about death, but to me, it’s about the good fight,” explains Brantley. “It’s about the attitude, the strength and the courage those boys had for what they were going through. Kory battling Leukemia and Jon fighting in Iraq…it’s about two different wars. Anytime you go out fighting for your life or fighting for your country, that’s ‘One Hell of An Amen.’”

The track serves as a heartfelt catalyst and third single from JUST AS I AM, which garnered the American Music Award for Favorite Country Album. Brantley traveled nearly 3,000 miles to launch the album during “Athens to Arlington,” a motorcycle ride honoring American heroes and thanking the loyal BG Nation fans. The journey culminated at Arlington cemetery, where Brantley laid a wreath on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Footage of the ride is featured in the “One Hell of An Amen” video and helps to further tell the story of valor.

This summer, Brantley will join Kenny Chesney and Jason Aldean for THE BIG REVIVAL TOUR.

BRIAN WILSON'S 11^TH SOLO STUDIO ALBUM, TITLED 'NO PIER PRESSURE,'

New Album Features Collaborations with Beach Boys Bandmates,

Hollywood, California - - He is one of popular music's most deeply revered figures, a legendary writer, producer, arranger and performer of some of the most cherished music in pop music history. Indeed, it is no exaggeration to call Brian Wilson one of the most gifted and influential composers of the past 50 years. For the release of his 11^th solo studio album, titled No Pier Pressure, Wilson has returned to Capitol Records, his original label home with The Beach Boys.  The album will be released April 7 in standard 13-track and deluxe 16-track editions, each available on CD and digitally, as well as a 16-track 2LP edition on 180-gram vinyl.

For the No Pier Pressure sessions, Brian Wilson reunited with longtime collaborator Joe Thomas, with whom he co-produced The Beach Boys' No. 3 Billboard album That's Why God Made The Radio for the iconic band's 50^th anniversary reunion in 2012.  In addition, Wilson was  joined at Hollywood's Ocean Way Studios by talented musicians he personally invited to record with him, including his former Beach Boys bandmates Al Jardine, David Marks and Blondie Chaplin, as well as Kacey Musgraves, fun.'s Nate Ruess, She & Him's Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward, Peter Hollens, Capital Cities' Sebu Simonian, and trumpet master Mark Isham.  Wilson has also brought in session all-stars Don Was, Jim Keltner, Dean Parks, and Kenny Aronoff.  Members of Wilson's longtime touring band, including Scott Bennett, Paul Mertens, Darian Sahanaja, and Probyn Gregory also participated in the sessions, along with Matt Jardine, son of Al Jardine, and former bandmate Jeffrey Foskett. 

Wilson and Thomas began collaborating on the new songs during The Beach Boys' whirlwind 50^th anniversary activities throughout 2012, a banner year for the band which also included a GRAMMY® Award win for Brian for The Beach Boys' long-awaited SMiLE Sessions release.  He told family, friends, and journalists around the world that he looked forward to returning to the studio when he got back home to California.  

Always most inspired when creativity is given time and space to freely flow, Wilson initially envisioned the sessions for his new album with The Beach Boys in mind, but that was not to be.  Wanting to find the right voices to complete his vision, Wilson saw an opportunity to finally become hip with his kids and recruited some amazing young vocalists who have been inspired by his music to do the job. 
Throughout his iconic career, Wilson has brought ingenious vision to his own compositions, as well as to those for which he has collaborated, weaving a lush, vibrant tapestry of intricately nuanced vocal harmonies and instrumental arrangements for himself, his bandmates and others.  For more than 50 years, fans have marveled at the sheer beauty of the music that springs forth from Wilson's imagination into glorious song.
Camped out at Ocean Way, Wilson took a fluid, woodshedding approach to the recording process, deftly tailoring the vocal and instrumental parts and arrangements to each participant.  Wilson worked to hone the arrangements, often assembling pieces from various takes, a signature style of recording he has enjoyed since his earliest sessions with The Beach Boys.  In fact, several of the songs were written during the recording process.
Brian Wilson began his career as a teenaged founding member of The Beach Boys, who signed with Capitol Records in July 1962 and released their first album, Surfin' Safari, that same year. The band's initial surf-rock focus was soon broadened to include other themes, and 1966's Pet Sounds is universally hailed as one of the greatest albums of all time.  Wilson's innovative vocal and instrumental arrangements for major hits including "I Get Around," "California Girls," "Wouldn't It Be Nice," "God Only Knows," and the No. 1 smash "Good Vibrations" made The Beach Boys America's preeminent band of the 1960s.
Brian Wilson has also achieved great solo success with 10of his own albums released to date, including his acclaimed 2004 completion of an album he first began recording in the '60s, Brian Wilson Presents... SMiLE, which reached Billboard's Top 20 and earned him his first GRAMMY® Award for a recording.  Wilson won his second GRAMMY Award® for producing The Beach Boys' acclaimed 2011 release, The SMiLE Sessions.  Wilson has also performed major, sold-out SMiLE and Pet Sounds tours in recent years with his own band.  Wilson is a Kennedy Center Honors recipient, a Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee, and a UK Music Hall of Fame inductee.  As a member of The Beach Boys, Wilson was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988 and honored with The Recording Academy's Lifetime Achievement GRAMMY® Award in 2001.

Superstar Tim McGraw to perform Glen Campbell's "I'm Not Gonna Miss You at The Oscars

Nashville, TN  – Oscar® producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron announced this morning that best-selling Country superstar and critically acclaimed actor TIM MCGRAW will perform GLEN CAMPBELL’S “I’M NOT GONNA MISS YOU" during the live television broadcast of the Oscars®. “I’m Not Gonna Miss You” is nominated in the category of Best Original Song.

The song appears in the Critics’ Choice nominated documentary GLEN CAMPBELL…I’LL BE ME, which follows Campbell's final tour and his struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Recorded with the famed Wrecking Crew and co-written with producer Julian Raymond, the song conveys his personal experience with the disease and laments the memory of his wife and family. The recording of “I’m Not Gonna Miss You” was captured in a heartfelt scene near the end of the film. See it here.

The performance by McGraw will be a dedication to Campbell from the Country community that has rallied behind him and his family during this difficult time. Campbell, who received the GRAMMY® Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012 and is a member of the esteemed Country Music Hall of Fame, is no longer able to perform for public audiences due to Alzheimer’s progression. Campbell’s immediate family, who appears alongside him in the film, asked McGraw if he would be willing to honor the legend by performing the song at the upcoming awards.

Sugarland's Kristian Bush to release solo album April 7, writes intro to his fans

 

 

Southern Gravity comes out April 7. Here is a note from me to you about why I made this album.

I would like to announce the impending release of my debut solo album, Southern Gravity. It comes out on April 7th. I would love for you to buy it.

Rolling Stone reported the news today [read their article here], but there is more to the story.

You may have heard "Trailer Hitch," the first single from the album, either playing on the radio, or online, or from a friend. You may have heard some of the songs I have posted over the last few years here on my site for my Music Mondays series. Soon, about 10 weeks from now, you will be able to hear the rest.

I love this album. It makes me feel good to sing these songs, makes me smile when I hear them, and makes me proud when I play them for someone. I think I worked harder on this album than I have worked on any other in my entire career, and I am excited to share it with you, finally, 30 months and 300 songs later.

I can understand that some of you may be curious how it is that I am just now making a solo album -- and why I would be putting one out to begin with. The short answer is, because it is what I do all the time. I wake up, write a song, record it, and produce it.

The long answer is that I have had a 20 year string of record deals alongside two of the best singers I have ever met: Andrew Hyra and Jennifer Nettles. No kidding -- I know a lot of great singers, but none have ever come close to those two people. Standing next to them allowed me to become the producer and writer and dreamer, the rudder, the map. The songwriter, the creator. I learned how to tell the long story in the shortest art form I know: the song.

I learned every day. I learned how to be on a label, how to make an album, make a sophomore album, follow it up, make an outtakes album, a Christmas album... and this was all before 1997. By the age of 27 had an education in being an artist that I would have never imagined when I was 15.

Now I can show you in my first solo album what I have learned from these incredible singers, and these twice-in-a-lifetime experiences.

During Sugarland's In Your Hands tour a few years back, Jennifer told me she was going to have a baby and that she wanted to make a solo album. I was so excited for her on both counts -- and I saw that I was about to have some space on my calendar.

I immediately started making plans to spend the first summer home with my kids in eight years. I was going to finally be able to visit my friends, maybe make my own pizza, buy a bike. I was so excited. And I was very surprised by what happened next: I woke up a few days later and dreamed up a new song. I recorded it on my phone and wrote down the lyrics, and moved through the rest of my day. A week later it happened twice, and the following month it turned out that songs were showing up every other day, sometimes two at a time.

I was worried. This had never happened before. I started to record the songs at the studio I have in Atlanta. One song led to another, and where I usually have about 12 or 15 songs in a year, I suddenly had 150. That is when I felt like I had to do something about these recordings.

I started to send them to friends, other artists, publishers, my kids. They all loved them and asked for more. I kept writing, and started traveling far and wide to find writers to teach me. I started by asking myself the question, "What if I really have no idea how to write a song? Who can help me learn?" I went all over the US and Europe writing with people. It was grueling and humbling and wonderful and exciting. I would come home to Atlanta exhausted. I would wake up, drive carpool, and then go into the studio and start recording.

It was an amazing experience listening to these songs come to life so quickly after they were written. Some weeks I couldn't remember the song I had written the week before, and was so grateful that I had recorded it. The rest of the story is mostly music business, and how I got from there to here. It was a curvy road but these recordings and the people that have guided me are apparently good on the turns.

So this is why I am releasing my first solo album now. Because it is time, because my voice is ready, because the songs have appeared, and because I have found some of the best friends ever to work with. There are lots and lots of special thanks in the liner notes this time.

Southern Gravity is a first album. It has the energy of discovery and the mystery of music I still don't understand yet. It is intended to be played in the sunshine. I built it to work in your headphones and in your car radio. I hope it shakes your hips, makes you smile, and bounces your head along with the beat. I hope you hear your stories in here, no matter if you are standing up, falling down, or dancing in between the pieces of your life.

As for the title: No matter how far away I travel, people ask me why I think the Southern part of the US has such good food, why it has such good music and such a rich culture, why the women are so beautiful. I never know quite how to answer them, but I will say this: Those things create such a powerful combination that I can feel them pull me, over a great distance, ever so slowly back home, like gravity.

These songs are as much my home right now as the place that holds my bed. I hear the first few notes of each one and I relax, I let it all the troubles drift off of my shoulders and sink down. I truly can't believe how positive these songs are with the crazy things that have happened to me over the last three years, but they are. From the melodies to the backbeats, from the lyrics to the last notes, I hope they all hold inside them a piece of that promise that out there in the distance, way out past your worries, that it is all gonna be okay.

Nashville Natives to Join Eric Church’s THE OUTSIDERS TOUR this Spring

 

 NASHVILLE, TN  – THE CADILLAC THREE is back out on the road, bringing their high-energy show to clubs on the AVIATORS AND RADIATORS TOUR. Reigning the UK Classic Rock Roll of Honour Awards Best New Rock Band, who have been making waves in Europe with their gritty sound and thunderous live performances, will headline their own dates stateside over the next couple of months. This spring, the trio of Nashville natives – JAREN JOHNSTON (Guitar & Lead Vocals), KELBY RAY (Bass Steel Guitar, Dobro, Acoustic & Vocals) and NEIL MASON (Drums, Percussion & Vocals) – will once again join ERIC CHURCH as a special guest on select dates of THE OUTSIDERS TOUR.

 T. GRAHAM BROWN RETURNS WITH  

FOREVER CHANGED
SET MARKS HIS FIRST STUDIO ALBUM IN NINE YEARS

NASHVILLE, Tenn.  – It’s been almost a decade since T. Graham Brown has released a new studio album, but that drought comes to an end today with the release of Forever Changed. The disc is released by Mansion Entertainment and distributed by Sony RED Distribution and Provident. The album is also available through Cracker Barrel Old Country Store. Brown co-produced the disc with Mark L. Carman.

In addition to Brown’s trademark blues styling, Forever Changed features no less than twelve of Brown’s contemporaries and fellow artists lending their talents to the album. Among the guest list includes Vince Gill, Leon Russell, Steve Cropper, The Oak Ridge Boys, and Jimmy Fortune. The disc has already made a little bit of history for the Georgia native by garnering him his first ever Grammy nomination – in the category of Best Gospel Roots Album. Brown and his wife Sheila will be traveling to Los Angeles for the February 8 Grammy festivities.

Brown – whose last studio disc was 2006’s The Present – is very excited for his fans to hear the new music. “It’s a neat record. I think it’s probably the best one I’ve ever made, and I’ve got a lot of friends singing on it. I picked out a batch of songs I liked, and it turned out exactly like I wanted it to. Then, it gets nominated for a Grammy, and I’ve never been nominated for one before, so I’m loving every minute of it.” The album’s first single, “He’ll Take Care Of You,” the collaboration with Vince Gill, is currently making an impact at both Country radio and Southern Gospel radio.

Brown was born in Georgia, and played in local bands throughout the 1970s, making the move to Nashville in the early 1980s. His talent came to the attention of Capitol Records executive Jim Fogelsong, who signed him to the label. His first single, “Drowning In Memories,” immediately connected with fans, landing in the Top 40 of the Billboard Hot Country Singles Chart, but the best was yet to come. His sophomore release, “I Tell It Like It Used To Be,” hit the Top-10, kicking off a series of hits that included “Hell and High Water,” “Darlene,” “Come As You Were,” and “Don’t Go Out,” a 1990 hit single that paired him with Tanya Tucker. In 1998, Brown charted with the personal “Wine Into Water,” a song that detailed his long and painful struggle with alcohol addiction. Brown re-cut the song on Forever Changed with Jimmy Fortune.

2015 marks three decades since Brown first hit the charts, and the singer will celebrate by taking his unique blend of Country and Blues on the road.
