GEORGE JONES 'AMAZING GRACE'
TO BE RELEASED SEPTEMBER 10, 2013
Nashville, Tenn. (July 31, 2013) - Bandit Records will proudly releaseGEORGE JONES – AMAZING GRACE on September 10th, two days before what would have been Jones’ 82nd birthday.  Jones, a partner in Bandit Records, recorded the gospel songs with producer Billy Sherrill in 2002 with the exception of one track, “Great Judgment Morning,” which was produced by Brian Ahern in 1994.

The Billy Sherrill songs represent the final sessions between Jones and Sherrill.  Sherrill had retired and was not interested in going back into the studio.  Jones was persistent in trying to get Sherrill to do one last project and they finally agreed to do a Gospel Collection.  It also marked the first time that Jones’ had actually recorded an entire Gospel project and not just isolated songs tacked onto the end of secular sessions.

“Great Judgment Morning” was one of those songs tacked onto the end of his Bradley Barn recording sessions.  Assembled that day were friends such as Waylon Jennings, Jessi Colter, Travis Tritt, Ricky Skaggs, Marty Stuart and Connie Smith who all added their vocal interpretations of that classic gospel favorite.

Jones passed away on April 26, 2013 surrounded by family and friends. AMAZING GRACE had already been planned and blessed by Jones before his passing.  Gospel music had always brought peace and calm to Jones throughout his turbulent life.  He was reverential in his approach to singing sacred songs and didn’t believe vocal theatrics should be involved.

His eloquent and moving rendition of “Amazing Grace” was used during the video/ bio segment of his Kennedy Center Honors Induction in 2008 and resulted in hundreds of calls asking for the recording.  The record has not been in the marketplace since 2005 (to the degree that is possible in the digital age).

George Jones was a partner in Bandit Records and his widow, Nancy Jones, continues to be.  Bandit Records was established in 2000 and served as the first label that Jones had a vested interest in and the final record label in Jones illustrious career.  During that time and in spite of his advanced age, his recordings continued to excite audiences, earn major award nominations and sell in respectful numbers.  It is a testament to his talent that Jones had charting records in six decades and earned Gold certification well into his late 70s.

Armed with a trademarked style, incomparable delivery, impeccable comedic timing and a signature voice, comedian Chris Tucker brings his 2013 World Tour to the Fabulous Fox Theatre on October 5!
In the early '90s, Tucker became one of the top performing comedians, gaining the national spotlight after he was invited to perform on Russell Simmons’s HBO showcase Def Comedy Jam. In movies like Quentin Tarantino’s Jackie Brown and the cult comedy classic Friday, Tucker stood out as a comedic actor. But it was his co-starring role in the 1998 action comedy blockbuster Rush Hour, alongside Jackie Chan, that turned the comedian into an international star. The action comedy would transfix audiences and surpass box office records, making the feature length film a certified success. The widely popular movie spawned an even more popular sequel further establishing Tucker as one of the highest paid actors in history. The third installment of the mega hit went on to debut as the number one movie in America. Tucker is also a humanitarian and spends much of his spare time traveling and working with his foundation. He recently appeared in the Oscar nominated film Silver Lining Playbook with Robert DeNiro, Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper.

HANK3 Announces TWO New Releases
Hitting Stores on October 1, 2013
New Country DOUBLE ALBUM, “Brothers Of The 4x4” // New Punk Album, 3’s “A Fiendish Threat”

Upcoming Headline Tour Dates Announced for August/September 2013

Hank3albums

The king of hellbilly, Mr. HANK3 himself, is pleased to announce a triple-threat of new releases, hitting stores October 1, 2013. HANK3 will release a brand new DOUBLE country album, entitled Brothers of the 4x4, and a single punk album, entitled A Fiendish Threat, with his new project “3”.  Brothers of the 4x4 will also be available as a single LP vinyl version, and A Fiendish Threat will be available as a double LP vinyl version.

Recording in his own home and releasing music on his own label, the Megaforce distributed HANK3 Records, allowed Williams complete creative control during the four month period it took to make both records.

Besides living the songs subject matter first, HANK3 sang and played both guitar and drums on the records. As if pulling triple duty wasn't enough, he engineered, produced, mixed and mastered all the tunes as well.  Not bad for someone who in his own words is dyslexic and has ADD,  ccording to HANK3 “my mind is all over the place”. But even a man talented and driven enough to do (count 'em) seven jobs at once has his limits, so HANK3 has once again assembled a top-notch ensemble of pickers and pluckers for Brothers Of The 4x4 and A Fiendish Threat.

The required stand-up bass holds the low end down at the deft hands of Zach Shedd, with David McElfresh and Billy Contreras whipping razor sharp bows across the fiddle. Daniel Mason handles banjo, with a special guest appearance on "Possum In A Tree" by former National Old-Time Banjo Champion Leroy Troy working his banjo in the old school clawhammer style, while Andy Gibson wrings the sweetest of notes out his stand up steel guitar. Finally, long-time collaborator and fellow multi-instrumentalist extraordinaire Johnny Hiland rips his chicken pickin' guitar to feathers and shreds.

HANK3's latest country record is just that- country, and the realness of it shines throughout the record like moonlight hitting a mason jar of corn liquor- it ain't always the smoothest, and it doesn't come wrapped in a fancy package, but it's 100% pure whoop-ass in a bottle that gets the job done quicker and better and reminds you of where you originally came from once you figure out what just hit you. On "Outdoor Plan" he sings of fishing and hunting as a way of life, and it's a fact that more than one deer and turkey has met its maker at the end of HANK3’s gun's barrel. The title track, "Brothers of the 4x4" celebrates the wide open full throttle love of off roadin' and rootin' in a four wheel drive- the cover of the record shows Williams mud bogging in a custom 4x4, and it's not some redneck rental- that's his ride. And because life ain't always happy, when the heartbreak and hard times cracks through the sonic celebration on songs like "Loners 4 Life" and "Ain't Broken Down", it's because HANK3 is well acquainted with the darker side of life, and not as some tourist. The album is a rich and gritty sounding mixture of sadness, pride, hope- in other words, it's a great country record.

As mentioned above, HANK3 will head out on a headline tour of select major markets on August 24th. The tour will kick off in Austin, TX at The Austin Bat Fest, and will tour several cities, coming to a close on September 8th in Atlanta, GA at The Masquerade.

With Brothers of the 4x4 and A Fiendish Threat set for release October 1st, Williams is ready to hit the road, and when he hits the road, he hits it much harder than most. Hank 3 shows are legendary for their length and intensity, averaging three hours a night, starting with a country set and ending with whatever his latest musical experiment happens to be. For this touring cycle, fans will get to taste the hardcore punk horror rock of A Fiendish Threat, a rippingly fast blast of sounds reminiscent of The Misfits, Minor Threat, 7 Seconds, The Ramones and other punk rock greats that are as much a part of Hank 3's musical identity as his country roots. But A Fiendish Threat, like all of the man's musical output, is anything but a formulaic, by-the-numbers rehash of what has been previously done by others. Stand up bass, fiddle, and banjo are not exactly standard instruments in punk rock, but they are on this record, riding beneath 3's howling distorted vocals. Perhaps this is the birth of rebelcore punk? Whatever you want to call it, Williams has left his own touch on the genre, even utilizing a bizarrely beautiful Hula-music-on-acid sounding Hawaiian guitar at times. Some of the songs can make the listener feel like someone dropped LSD in their cheap draft beer at a CBGB matinee show headlined by a ghoulish Hawaiian punk band. A Fiendish Threat is yet another of Williams already numerous signature sounds, and he's excited to put it in front of the audience for the first time. "You know when you do a new record, you just want to play it for all your friends. That's what I'm excited for with this punk record, I get use a voice that doesn't get used that often, and pay respects to some of my influences at the same time. Doing this record made feel like I was growing stronger- it took some of the years off me, to tell you the truth. Playing it makes me feel young again," he laughs, "How long I will be able to pull it off all depends on the voice, man.”

With these dual releases, Brothers Of The 4x4 and A Fiendish Threat added to his already huge and varied arsenal of music, HANK3 will be raising all sorts of hell on stage while the fans raise their glasses in the audience once again, and you can bet your last dollar a damn good time will be had by all. The man goes full throttle all the time, every time, as anyone who has ever been to one of his innumerable shows will attest.

Listen to Brothers of the 4x4 and A Fiendish Threat, go to a show, and find out for yourself. Just remember the next day, after a few aspirins, a dinner at your own table, and a sleep in your own bed, that HANK3 will be down the road doing his thing again, and for that rebel, “doing the best I can” means something a little different than it does for the average man.

HANK3’s new biography was recently penned by none other than heavy metal renaissance man and self-proclaimed redneck Randy Blythe of Lamb of God. Who better than a backwoods brother from another mother to conjure up a personal summary of HANK3’s recent successes and future plans?

THE ARISTOCRATS: ‘Culture Clash’ Lands in the Top 10! #8 on the Billboard Contemporary Jazz Charts and #16 on the Jazz Album Charts

On Tour in the U.S. Now!

Featuring Guthrie Govan (Steven Wilson, Asia/GPS), Bryan Beller (Dethklok, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani) and Marco Minnemann (Necrophagist, Kreator, Adrian Belew, UKZ, Steven Wilson)

Aristocrats forwebsite

THE ARISTOCRATS are pleased to announce that their new release Culture Clash is a Top 10 record! The album has charted at #8 on the Billboard Contemporary Jazz Album charts and #16 on the Billboard Jazz charts within the first week. Boasting elements of jazz, rock, metal, fusion and more, this genre-defying release has truly proven to be a bona fide crossover hit!

See what the press is saying about Culture Clash:

“As you’d expect from this cast of characters, the resulting jamfuckery of music is equal parts fusion, funk, jazz, prog rock and metal, and all parts awesome. These musicians are all in the upper echelon of their craft…” –MetalSucks.net

“Oh, that all modern instrumental music was this soulful and interesting. As the title hints, stepping across stylistic boundaries is what Bryan Beller, Guthrie Govan, and Marco Minnemann aim to do, and their pursuit of no-holds barred fun - as well as their virtuosic command of their instruments - is a blast to hear. The chops are fierce, the tones are primo (check out Beller on "Ohhhh Noooo"), and the moods cover the spectrum, from groovy to menacing to playful to thrashing to introspective. Highlights include the arpeggiator-like 16ths on "Dance of the Aristocrats" and the "Bright Size Life"-ready bass solo in "Gaping Head Wound." - E.E. Bradman, Bass Player Magazine

“Okay, music isn’t a sport. But even so, after listening to Culture Clash, we’re left pondering how Guthrie Govan gets equipment up the ramp of his flying saucer after gigs in a flightcase fitted with castors?”
“It’s a team effort though… Minnemann’s drumming is sublime, while tracks such as “Ohhhh Noooo” see Beller hard at work as Guthrie builds evolving, Zappa-esque riffs around his mobile, creative basslines.” – Guitarist Mag

“[Culture Clash is] brimming with tasteful and virtuosic playing from each member. But like their first record, it’s not just a show-off fest of three very capable musicians; the nine songs on Culture Clash are also masterworks of creativity and musicality.” – Guitar-Muse.com

The band’s new album Culture Clash is out now, and you can order it at http://thearistocrats.spinshop.com. When ordering, you have the choice of purchasing a copy of the regular edition, or the deluxe edition, which includes “Accept The Mystery: The Making Of The Aristocrats' Culture Clash”, a 33-minute DVD documentary shot while THE ARISTOCRATS were tracking the album in Nashville, TN. Containing both studio footage and exclusive interviews with each member of the band, “Accept The Mystery: The Making Of The Aristocrats' Culture Clash” is a special behind-the-scenes look at THE ARISTOCRATS that fans have never seen before.

JONNY KAPLAN & THE LAZY STARS
SET TO RELEASE ALL-STAR PACKED FOURTH ALBUM,
‘SPARKLE AND SHINE,’
OCTOBER 8 ON RECKLESS GRACE MUSIC;

TITLE TRACK AVAILABLE FOR STREAMING NOW
VIA AMERICAN SONGWRITER’S WEBSITE

– Singer/guitarist/songwriter Jonny Kaplan of JONNY KAPLAN & THE LAZY STARS is a travelling troubadour in the truest sense.  Whether sailing to a far off island, playing sold-out shows in Europe with his stellar band, The Lazy Stars, riding motorcycles up and down the West coast or wandering around a developing country with his acoustic guitar in hand, it’s all part of the same journey.  And it’s the journey of a true artist that is finally leading him home to his initial U.S. release, to complement his three critically acclaimed albums that have been released in Europe.

SPARKLE AND SHINE is the long-awaited fourth album from JONNY KAPLAN & THE LAZY STARS, which is due out October 8 on Reckless Grace Music.  The Southern California band has created an innovative and engaging collection of American rock numbers that opens Kaplan into a new era of his musical career.  The title track made its world premiere on American Songwriter magazine’s website yesterday, which can be heard here:http://bit.ly/138C9RD.

It’s the product of collaboration, bringing together a slew of talented musicians whose presence augments the quality of the songs.  The Lazy Stars include Rami Jaffee (Foo Fighters, The Wallflowers) on keyboards, bassist Jokin Salaverria, guitarist Dan Wistrom and drummer Joey Galvan.  Jonny also enlisted help from some very cool friends:  The Black Crowes keyboardist Adam MacDougall, Blind Melon bassist Brad Smith, Jessy Greene on violin (who also plays with Foo Fighters), and actress Daryl Hannah, who lends her vocals to two tracks.  “I think Daryl on vocals is going to surprise a lot of people who just know her as an actress,” Kaplan says.  “She has an amazingly beautiful voice that blends perfectly with mine.”

The end result of all these talented musicians coming together is a striking collection of rock numbers that draw from Americana, country and folk, recalling artists like Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Ray LaMontagne, The Band and Gram Parsons.  “It was apparent in the songwriting that there was an extreme diversity on the record in what kinds of songs they are,” states Kaplan.  “A lot of the songs needed to be recorded completely differently.  Sometimes you set up and make everything on the record have a similar sound, but there’s a lot of different sounding music on this record.  It was also a definite conscious decision from the beginning to add an element of sophistication to the record.”

The variety in the music on this album is one of its best aspects.  “I’ll Be Around” is a hook-laden track that recalls classic FM rock radio.  “Sweet Magnolia Flower,” a sparse acoustic ballad, reveals Kaplan’s emotional tendencies, while “The Child Is Gone” is an eight-minute desert rock number, harkening back to Crosby, Stills & Nash.  Album opener “Sparkle and Shine,” a grandiose rocker, showcases stadium-sized riffs, an apt juxtaposition to the record’s more introspective songs.

There is a sense of motion in the music, an aesthetic that comes from Kaplan’s ongoing travels, which have taken him across the U.S. and Europe and around South America and Japan. The musician, who lives on a sailboat in Marina Del Rey when he’s home in California, has stayed true to his inherent identity as a traveling troubadour.

For Jonny Kaplan, SPARKLE AND SHINE also represents an opportunity to bring his music to new audiences, particularly live.  The musician’s songs frequently appeared on major network TV shows like USA’s Graceland, FOX’s House and NBC’s Grimm, and over the years he’s played with artists like Kings Of Leon, The Wallflowers, Lucinda Williams, Keith Richards and Wilco.  But this album will be his first to receive a proper release in the U.S., giving him the opportunity to earn the sort of passionate acclaim stateside that he’s cultivated in Europe.  From 1999’s CALIFORNIA HEART, named U.K.-based Mojo magazine’s “Americana Album of the Month” upon release, to 2002’s RIDE FREE to his last album, SEASONS, Jonny has built an extensive fanbase internationally.  The musician’s new album feels like the right release to finally match that overseas attention at home.

“It seems as if we’ve been soaring just under the radar in the U.S. for years,” Jonny says.  “But that being said we’ve done tons of great stuff and have tons of very passionate fans here at home.  Right now, with this U.S. release, we really just need to connect the dots properly.  Luckily for me, travelling and singing my songs for people are my two favorite things to do.  There’s nothing bad about this life.”
