RAPPER WIZ KHALIFA ROLLS INTO CHAIFETZ ARENA OCTOBER 25

TICKETS GO ON SALE FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 7 AT 10 A.M. AT METROTIX.COM

(St. Louis – September 4, 2012) Rapper Wiz Khalifa brings The 2050 Tour to Chaifetz (SHAY-fetz) Arena at Saint Louis University on Thursday, October 25 at 7:30 p.m.  The Taylor Gang featuring Juicy J, Chevy Woods, Lola Monroe, Tuki Carter and Berner are also scheduled to perform.

Tickets are $31.50 and $41.50 and go on sale on Friday, September 7 at 10 a.m. at MetroTix.com, the Chaifetz Arena Box Office and charge by phone at 314-534-1111.

The son of two military parents, Khalifa first saw mainstream success with his 2010 hit “Black and Yellow,” which hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. In 2011 “Black and Yellow” was nominated as Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance at the Grammy Awards. The Pittsburgh-based rapper’s success continued in 2011, as released his first studio album “Rolling Papers” and was named Sprint’s Best New Artist at the 2011 American Music Awards and Best New Artist at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards.

Some of Wiz Khalifa’s success comes from his collaborations with other artists. Khalifa recorded “Young, Wild & Free” with Snoop Dogg, featuring Bruno Mars and was featured in Maroon 5’s song “Payphone,” which reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. The rapper’s second studio album, “O.N.I.F.C.” is scheduled to be released this month, and his first single “Work Hard, Play Hard,” dropped in April 2012.

Juicy J is an Academy Award-winning songwriter and co-founder and member of the rap group Three 6 Mafia.  Formerly known as Kev the Hustla, Chevy Woods is a MC from Pittsburgh who met Khalifa eight years ago in a Pittsburgh studio.  Lola Monroe is a rapper, model, and actress who made her acting debut on the Wendy Williams biopic “Queen of Media” and was nominated for BET Female Hip Hop.  Rapper Tuki Carter recently released his featured-single “Hustle On” and San Francisco-native Berner collaborated with Khalifa and Chris Brown on the single “Yoko Ono.”
