Los Angeles, CA -
September 25, 2012 - AWOLNATION and Red Bull Records are proud to
unveil the latest in fan-to-band-to-fan networking called The AWOL "NATION" Project,
an innovate new community-driven site that creates a living, breathing
interactive experience centered around fan-contributed content. Fans can
post anything they want on Twitter, Instagram, YouTube or Vimeo and if
it's tagged with the hashtag #awolnation, it will show up on the new AWOL "NATION" fan site in real-time at: http://nation.awolnation.mx.
The same feature is currently being added to incorporate Tumblr. As
fans around the world talk about AWOLNATION and tag their content
(photos, videos, comments), the site continuously evolves, allowing fans
from across the globe to explore and engage with both the band and each
other like never before. Additionally, if fans geo-tag their posts,
those posts show up on a custom Google-powered map, allowing fans from
around the world to interact with the band and each other.
Behind the scenes, The Uprising Creative, the design and development company behind the site,
built it on top of a customized Wordpress install and used custom-built
tools to tap into the APIs from these four services Twitter, Instagram,
YouTube and Vimeo. As posts are found via the APIs, they are pulled
into the site, and anything with a geo-tag is additionally mapped to its
specific coordinates using the Google Maps API. The site is fully
responsive, allowing it to be usable and optimized at any browser size
automatically without the need for a separate mobile web version of the
site. Additionally, Topspin Media is used to power the email list,
Facebook Comments for the ability for fans to interact with each other,
and a variety of customized share tools allow fans to spread the word
about the site and its content.
Keep up with, and meet up with other fans and the band during the AWOLNATION "Never Let Your Fear Decide Your Fate"
U.S. tour, with the rapidly on-the-rise alternative band Imagine
Dragons and indie hip-hop artist Zeale. Tickets are going quickly with
the band selling out shows across the country! A complete list of
