BRENT COBB’S NEW ALBUM PROVIDENCE CANYON OUT MAY 11

Grammy nominated singer, songwriter and performer Brent Cobb will release his highly anticipated new album, Providence Canyon, May 11 on Low Country Sound/Elektra Records (pre-order).
Recorded at Nashville’s RCA Studio A with Grammy Award-winning producer Dave Cobb, the album features eleven songs including “King of Alabama,” which is premiering today (watch/share the official music video HERE). Already receiving acclaim, NPR Music’s Ann Powers praises, “Cobb,
a troubadour whose classic country-rock songs are enhanced by his warm
heart and keen eye, tells Mills’ story with grace and discretion, as
does the charming animated video…Cobb kicks out a Keith
Richards-in-Muscle Shoals riff on his acoustic guitar and it melds
perfectly with the organ to form a foundation that’s pure, easy
locomotion. Each verse follows another like the stretch of blacktop
between exits, resolving in a chorus that’s breezy and uplifting without
unsettling the song’s groove. Far from maudlin, Cobb’s tribute does
exactly what Mills did: it keeps on rocking, headlights on, until the
last note.” Each digital pre-order comes with an immediate download of “King of Alabama” as well as “Ain’t A Road Too Long,” which debuted last year.
In
celebration of the album, Cobb’s “Ain’t A Road Too Long” tour is
currently underway. Featuring special guest Savannah Conley, the
extensive tour includes upcoming stops at DC’s DC9, Philadelphia’s Boot
& Saddle, New York’s Mercury Lounge and L.A.’s The Troubadour.
Following these headline dates, Cobb will once again join Chris
Stapleton on his “All-American Road Show” this summer
and fall including dates at L.A.’s The Forum, Chicago’s Hollywood Casino
Amphitheatre and New York’s Madison Square Garden. See below for full

The new album and tour follow a breakthrough few years for Cobb, who was nominated for Best Americana Album at the 60th GRAMMY Awards for his major label debut, Shine On Rainy Day. Released in 2016 to overwhelming acclaim, The Tennessean calls
the album, “…an outstanding piece of work and a collection of true,
country songs,” while WXPN World Café asserts, “…a gorgeous solo album
that promises to place him in the top echelon of this century’s young
troubadours…” Since the album’s release, Cobb
was also nominated for Emerging Artist of the Year at the 2017
Americana Honors & Awards and made his television debut on CONAN.
Cobb
was born in Americus, Georgia, about an hour east of Columbus, in the
rural south-central part of the state. In addition to his work as an
artist, Cobb is widely respected as a songwriter garnering cuts by Lee
Ann Womack, Luke Bryan, The Oak Ridge Boys, Little Big Town, Miranda
Lambert and more.
