NASHVILLE, TN (July 7, 2017) – From adolescent basement sessions to walking down the aisle, Music City born-and-bred trio THE CADILLAC THREE were destined to leave a mark. The title track from their forthcoming album offers a rare sonic twist for the notoriously full-amped musicians and is out today in advance of LEGACY, out August 25 on Big Machine Records. American Songwriter premiered the title track, noting that the musical co-conspirators "exploring deeper themes and experimenting with new sounds." A natural progression for the band who has been creating music together since high school, “Legacy” offers a deep understanding of what is truly important – relationships. GRAMMY®-nominated, chart-topping songwriter and frontman Jaren Johnston penned the track alongside Ben Burgess and Laura Veltz delicately crafting lyrics like:
When I’m gone, my name carved in stone
Over husband, friend, and father
Survived by son, wife, and daughter
It won’t be songs that keep me livin’ on
Girl, as hall of fame as I wanna be
It’s a lot of love and a little family tree
Hell, that’s a legacy
Over husband, friend, and father
Survived by son, wife, and daughter
It won’t be songs that keep me livin’ on
Girl, as hall of fame as I wanna be
It’s a lot of love and a little family tree
Hell, that’s a legacy
"’Legacy’ is a song I am super proud of! In the past, I’ve given away songs of this caliber because I didn't feel our band was ready to take on that role … or maybe I wasn't ready to sing those types of lyrics, shared Jaren with American Songwriter. “I think our band is ready, and I am there now. This is the perfect song for where we all are in our lives.”
Another part of TC3’s past and future is their hometown heritage. On August 31, they will take the stage for their first-ever headline show at the historic Ryman Auditorium. “You grow up seeing your favorite bands with your buddies, date nights with your love and special shows with your family here,” explains Neil. “The Ryman is an institution, and we’re really excited – and honored – to share the night with so many people who’ve been a part of our journey. It’s always a crazy ride with The Cadillac Three!”
They’ll headline clubs and join festival lineups throughout the summer, blending “twang and classic lyrics about tailgating and whisky with the power chords of a metal group, proving how vast country and western music has become” (Winnipeg Free Press).
More fans across the globe will have a chance to see “Legacy” come to life when TC3 returns to Europe for their fall headline LONG HAIR DON’T CARE TOUR with special guests Brothers Osborne and Broken Witt Rebels. “We all may be from different parts of the world but it’s really cool to have the spirit of a song bring us together!” said Kelby. “We’re really looking forward to introducing some new tunes.” Already A listed at Planet Rock in the UK, lead single “Dang If We Didn’t” officially impacts Country radio in the US on July 10.
