(St. Louis – February 5, 2013) Rising rapper Kendrick Lamar and DJ Steve Aoki electrify Chaifetz Arena at Saint Louis University on Wednesday, April 17 at 7 p.m. during the Verge Campus Spring Tour 2013.

General admission floor tickets are $37.50, general admission lower level seats are $31.50 and general admission upper level seats are $24.50. Tickets go on sale on Friday, February 8 at 10 a.m. at MetroTix.com, charge by phone at 314-534-1111 and at the Chaifetz Arena Box Office.

Fresh off his Jan. 26 “Saturday Night Live” appearance, Kendrick Lamar is hip hop’s newest golden child. The “King of Compton” performed platinum hit “Swimming Pools (Drank)” and “Poetic Justice” and was featured in an SNL digital short with The Lonely Island in a song called “YOLO.”

Lamar’s debut album “good kid, m.A.A.d. city” had the most successful opening week of any rap album in 2012, and the Compton, Calif. native hit the mainstream after Time declared it one of the 10 best of the year. With this album, which features rap legends Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, Lamar also was named “Rookie of the Year” by The Source, hip hop music’s leading news source.

The 25-year-old MC’s tell-all lyrics, which expose his audience to the setbacks and defeats of growing up in the inner city, earned him “Lyricist of the Year” at the 2012 BET Awards.

Considered one of the most enticing and electrifying DJs, Steve Aoki solidifies his reputation of being a “raucous” showman by showering his fans with champagne, crowd-surfing in his inflatable raft and playing high-energy, catchy and party-inducing house music.

Aoki is nominated for Best Dance/Electronica Album in the upcoming 55th Annual Grammy Awards for his latest album “Wonderland,” which was released in January 2012.

The Los Angeles native is a veteran in the Electronic Dance Music scene, having founded his own record label, Dim Mak Records, in 1996. The label helped him launch careers of artists such as Dada Life, Zeds Dead, Datsik, Block Party, The Kills and others. His label has released more than 250 records to date.
