Willie Nelson and William Shatner record new album,
‘Where No Man Has Gone Before”
April 1st, 2011Lost Highways Records announced that Willie Nelson and William Shatner have recorded a new duets album. The album, titled, “Where No Man Has Gone Before” is set to be released in September 2011. The friends got together in a California recording studio last year and recorded some of their favorite tunes. The album was produced by Ken Stroud.
Nelson and Shatner are long time friends. “Yeah, we’ve talked about doing an album for years,” said Nelson, who was reached by telephone on his bus in Texas. “We know the same people, we like the same songs, grew up watching the same movies. It was an easy album to do. He’s a good singer.”
Shatner reported that the two had a hard time picking the songs they would sing. ”There are so many great songs out there! I want to sing them all with Willie! I am more excited about this album than I was the first Star Trek Movie! I still can’t believe it. This is a dream come true.”
This is William Shatner’s 7th album, and Willie Nelson’s 107th album. The recording sessions were recorded, and a dvd will ready by Christmas.
There is no artwork available for the album, but the track list has been released:
