WHAT | The Minority Scientists Showcase will take place this weekend in conjunction with Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Designed to help break down racial, gender and occupational barriers, this unique career awareness opportunity brings scientists and local youth together to discuss careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). During this three-day event, scientists, engineers and other professionals will demonstrate their work, share their insights and encourage youth to pursue academic and professional success. In addition, the Science Center will extend its hours for the MLK Holiday weekend and remain open on Saturday, Sunday and Monday until 5:30pm. |
