MARCH 26, 2014 - Los Angeles, CA - UK duo Royal Blood (23 year-old vocalist/bassist Mike Kerr and 25 year-old drummer Ben Thatcher) will return to the U.S. in May for live dates in New York and Los Angeles. The trip will follow the band's recent sold out headline tour in the UK, a slot on the N.M.E. tour with Interpol, a nomination for the BBC Sound of 2014 poll, and four jam-packed sets at the 2014's SXSW Music Conference and Festival in Austin, Texas.  Tickets for the three newly announced U.S. dates will be available beginning this Friday, March 28th at 9:00 AM local time (ticket links below). Today it was also announced that the band will perform at Lollapalooza in Chicago, IL on August 2nd.

5/13 - Mercury Lounge - New York, NY | Tickets
5/15 - The Roxy - Los Angeles, CA | Tickets

Royal Blood is a mixture of anguished vocals, ferocious drumming and bass that provides intricate detail as well as a rumble of rhythm. The duo's sound is a result of a lineage that stretches from present day heroes Queens of the Stone Age to the influential Led Zeppelin, and all the way back to early blues pioneers... yet this huge wall of sound emerges from just two men.  In next to no time, the two have earned critical praise following the release of their debut single "Out of the Black" on the band's own label Black Mammoth Records last year. Now signed to Warner Bros. Records in the U.S., the label released Royal Blood's debut EP Out of The Black EP on March 18th.

Royal Blood will return to the studio later this spring to put the finishing touches on their debut full-length album due to be released before the end of the year.

Texas Melodic Metal Band SHATTERED SUN and Loudwire Premiere New Track “Hope Within Hatred”

Performing with SKID ROW @ The Whisky A Go Go in Hollywood, CA on May 17, 2014

Strong newcomers SHATTERED SUN are the first signing from Breaking Bands LLC and are currently working on their upcoming, currently untitled album. Meanwhile, the band wants to give fans a taste of what they can look forward to. Today, exclusively via Loudwire, SHATTERED SUN is releasing a brand new track, entitled ‘Hope Within Hatred’.

‘Hope Within Hatred’ portrays that even within moments of negativity and oppression, one can find the positive and make their own way. “When I wrote this song it seemed like my life was in a downward spiral. I was holding on to a lot of negativity and people who were truly bad for my future,” states vocalist Marcos Leal. “For some reason I could never see past this and always held on and avoided change. ‘Hope Within Hatred’ is the flip side of that, about having your own voice, embracing change and facing the ugly truth about things.”

‘Hope Within Hatred’, as well as the entire upcoming album, is produced by Robert Beltran of Precision Studio, LLC in Corpus Christi, TX. In addition to production from Robert, SHATTERED SUN also credits Spineshank guitarist Mike Sarkisyan with assisting with pre-production duties and general consultation. The band greatly appreciates the work put in by both Mike Sarkisyan and Robert Beltran.

“We’ve been working with Rob Beltran for a while now and he’s definitely become more than just our producer. To us, he’s family and at times feels like a seventh member of the band. In addition, we’ve learned a lot from Mike Sarkisyan through our early touring days and keep in contact with him still to this day,” adds Marcos.

Stay tuned for in-studio videos chronicling SHATTERED SUN’s recording experience, put together by their good friend Steve Garcia.

SHATTERED SUN boasts a potent mix of heavy thrash and melodic metal— featuring impressive guitar riffs, gripping vocals, memorable hooks, and a magnetic, raw appeal that allows them to create truly unforgettable music. The band offers a consistently brutal sound, but succeeds in bringing a riveting melodic touch to each track. SHATTERED SUN executes a truly exhilarating live show by bringing enormous amounts of force and energy to any and every venue they perform at. The band has effectively honed their performance craft based on their advanced ability to understand what their audience is truly craving in a live show.

Heads up, Hollywood! SHATTERED SUN is set to perform with hard rock legends Skid Row at The Whisky on May 17, 2014. For more show details, please visit http://www.whiskyagogo.com/site/event/skid-row/. SHATTERED SUN is available for interviews.

Keep an eye out for more great things coming soon – this is only the beginning for SHATTERED SUN.

'We Will Rock You,' Queen musical plays the Fabulous Fox Theatre through Sunday

The time is the future, in a place that was once called Earth. Globalisation is complete.

Everywhere, the kids watch the same movies, wear the same fashions and think the same thoughts. It’s a safe, happy, Ga Ga world. Unless you’re a rebel. Unless you want to Rock. On iPlanet all the musical instruments are banned. The Company Computers generate tunes and everybody downloads them. It is an age of Boy Bands and of Girl Bands. Of Boy and Girl Bands. Of Girl Bands with a couple of boys in them that look like girls anyway. Nothing is left to chance, hits are scheduled years in advance.
Caught in a landslide, no escape from reality.
But Resistance is growing. Underneath the gleaming cities, down in the lower depths live the Bohemians. Rebels who believe that there was once a Golden Age when the kids formed their own bands and write their own songs. They call that time, The Rhapsody.
Open your eyes, look up to the skies and see.
Legend persists that somewhere on iPlanet instruments still exist. Somewhere, the mighty axe of a great and hairy guitar god lies buried deep in rock. The Bohemians need a hero to find this axe and draw it from stone. Is the one who calls himself Galileo that man?
He’s just a poor boy. From a poor family.
But the Ga Ga Cops are also looking for Galileo and if they get him first they will surely drag him before the Killer Queen and consign him to Oblivion across the Seven Seas of Rhye. Who is Galileo? Where is the Hairy One’s lost axe? Where is the place of living rock?
Any way the wind blows.

The ‘rock theatrical’, built around 24 of Queen’s biggest hits delivered in a show that boasts the scale and electrifying spectacle that marked the bands’ legendary live performances, will launch a national tour in Baltimore, MD, at the France-Merrick Performing Arts Center, in October 2013.
This hilarious, multi-award-winning and record-breaking phenomenon is created by celebrated British comedian and writer Ben Elton (TV’s "Mr. Bean" and "The Young Ones"), and boasts a fantastic score of Queen’s biggest songs including "Another One Bites The Dust", "Crazy Little Thing Called Love", "We Are The Champions," "Bohemian Rhapsody" and, of course, "We Will Rock You".
Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor are musical supervisors to the show, taking an active role in casting the singer/actors and musicians for every production worldwide. On occasion, they have made surprise appearances with the cast to uproars of delight from the audience.
Unprecedented success around the world has now paved the way for We Will Rock You to launch its first North American tour.
The show is in its 11th year at The Dominion in London’s West End, one of London Theatreland’s biggest theatres, making it the venue’s longest-running production ever. The previous record holder was the original production of Robert Stigwood’s Grease which ran at the Dominion for 3 years and 3 months. We Will Rock You is now officially the 9th longest running show in the West End.
At the 2011 Olivier Awards, the UK equivalent of the Tony Awards, We Will Rock You was crowned the UK’s favorite show. In the only award category voted entirely by members of the public, the musical came out on top, beating a shortlist including Billy Elliot, Jersey Boys and Les Misérables.
Outside of the UK, the show has now been seen in local productions in 17 countries, playing to an audience of over 15 million people.
The complete North American tour route will be announced in the coming months.
We Will Rock You takes place in a future age on a planet once called Earth that is now controlled by a mighty corporation. Globalization is complete. Individuality is taboo. Everyone watches the same movies, wears the same clothes and thinks the same thoughts. Music is generated by the corporation’s computers, rock music is unheard and all musical instruments are banned. The hope of breaking free rests with an unlikely resistance – an alliance of rebel Bohemians, waiting for a hero to lead the battle to bring the power of rock back to the people.
"This show is all about legend," says Ben Elton. "We take the legend of Queen and create our own fantastical story of young kids battling the mighty corporation who wants to suppress their individuality and their love of music. They need a hero who can help them in their struggle, and we have two – the dreamer Galileo, and the sassy rock chick Scaramouche. Guess who ends up winning?"
"Creating the show with Ben was very much a three-way thing," says Roger Taylor. "It was great because he was a pleasure to work with and because he has such a fertile mind. He never stops churning out ideas."
Elton updates his book regularly, keeping the satirical edge of his script totally relevant to the time and location of the production.
Brian May adds, "The amazing bonus is that Ben's script subtly works as a metaphor too. People definitely come out of the theatre feeling that in a strange way they now know us, Queen, and our struggle, our journey."

In a future age of mindless manufactured music, where everyone dresses the same, thinks the same, is the same, hope of breaking free rests with an unlikely resistance - an alliance of rebel Bohemians deep below iPlanet, waiting for a hero to bring the power of Rock back to the people. And in Galileo they may just have found their man… that is, unless the terrifying Killer Queen gets to him first, or even worse, he's actually found somebody to love…
WE WILL ROCK YOU features the greatest hits of the legendary British rock group, Queen. Now in its 11th year in London and seen by a staggering 15 million people worldwide, this hilarious, multi-award-winning and record-breaking phenomenon is written by celebrated British comedian Ben Elton and boasts a fantastic score of killer Queen tunes that you just can't resist singing along to, such as “Another One Bites The Dust,” “Crazy Little Thing Called Love,” “We Are The Champions,” “Bohemian Rhapsody” and, of course, “We Will Rock You.” It's the world champion of musicals and the show that rocks harder than any other, so don't miss the party - book your tickets now at www.wewillrockyou.com

Drive By Truckers playing The Pageant Saturday, promoting English Oceans album

Fresh off the release March 3 of their latest album, English Oceans, the Drive By Truckers are on tour, and will stop at The Pageant on Saturday night, March 29. Members Patterson Hood and Mike Cooley recently discussed the creation and recording of the album.....
English Oceans, the 12th release by Athens, Georgia's Drive-By Truckers, is an elegantly balanced and deeply engaged new effort that finds the group refreshed and firing on all cylinders.
All but one of the collection's 13 new songs, written by singer-guitarists and co-founding members Patterson Hood and Mike Cooley, were recorded during 13 days of sessions in August 2013 with longtime producer David Barbe.
Six of the songs were the result of a burst of writing activity by Cooley.
"I had time to write," Cooley says. "After we came off the road last time, we decided we were going to let it rest for a while. So I had time to really focus. I kind of had to re-learn how to write, because I didn't write as many songs as I'd wanted on the last couple of records. I was happy with these songs, and thrilled to go in and record so many that I felt real strongly about."
Hood notes, "I don't think we've ever had a record where Cooley was as deeply involved in every aspect of the making of it as he was this time. With Cooley's writing, there's almost no precedent for it in our catalog. He came in with this stunning bunch of songs, full of this beautiful imagery."
Writing independently, Cooley and Hood penned songs that dovetailed brilliantly with each other. Hood says, "Every song on this record connects with another song. I noticed Cooley's got a line in 'Primer Coat' about 'apron strings,' and I have the exact same image in one of my songs, 'Hanging On.' It goes on and on and on like that on this record, and that's a pretty good sign for things, particularly given how different our temperaments are and our styles of writing are."
Cooley and Hood's brace of character-based songs depict a neatly interlocking gallery of relationships, often in dissolution and discord. The last song written and recorded for the album, Hood's rave-up "Pauline Hawkins," was based on a new novel by Willy Vlautin and penned after another of his compositions was scrapped.
Hood says, "There was such a balance between Cooley's songs and my songs that taking a song off the record would upset the balance a little bit. I liked the back-and-forth flow, like our shows tend to do. I got an advance copy of Willy's latest book, The Free. I've been a fan of his writing for a while. I read it in about three days. I finished it on Saturday, I wrote the song on Sunday, and then we cut it on Thursday and mastered the record on the following Monday. It sure makes it a better record."
DBT's ever-keen political edge can be seen in two songs on the release. Cooley's "Made Up English Oceans" derives from his interest in the career of Lee Atwater, the Republican operative who was active in the Reagan and Bush campaigns of the '80s. "He was the guy that Karl Rove and all of the modern dirty tricksters looked to – he was one of the granddaddies of it all. That song is from his point of view, fictionally of course. It's him making his pitch, telling what he understands about young, Southern men."
Hood says "The Part of Him" was inspired by the procession of scandals that plague the political world year after year. "It's about political assholery -- there's someone new playing that role every few months," he says. "As soon as we get rid of one of them, someone comes up and starts playing that part again."
Reflecting the renewed high level of collaboration between the band's two principals, English Oceans marks an unprecedented event: the recording of a Hood song, "Til He's Dead or Rises," with Cooley assuming the lead vocal.
Cooley says, "I remember Patterson was getting frustrated trying to sing it. He was doing fine, but it seemed like there was something he wanted to do that wasn't coming. I was in the control room thinking, 'I could probably sing this' -- though it wasn't like I was saying, 'Oh, I can sing this a lot better than that.' I was thinking, 'This sounds like something I could sing.' Right after that, he walks into the control room and says, 'You want to trying singing this? It sounds more like you than me.' I said, 'Yeah, I was just thinking that.'"
"Grand Canyon," the final song on the album, is an emotionally overwhelming elegy for Craig Lieske, a longtime member of DBT's touring family. The former manager of Athens' 40 Watt Club and a key player in the city's experimental music scene, Lieske died suddenly of a heart attack in January 2013 following the first night of the band's three-night homecoming stand in Athens. English Oceans is dedicated to him.
"I probably wrote it in 15 minutes," Hood says. "It wasn't any kind of a conscious thing. It's the most important song of mine on the record. I wrote new songs to go with it. It recalibrated something. It became a totally different record for me than the record I thought we were going to make."
The album was recorded with a compact, retooled lineup. Jay Gonzalez, who joined the band in 2008 as keyboardist, stepped into an expanded role by adding guitar to his duties, while bassist Matt Patton was drafted from the Tuscaloosa group The Dexateens. The unit was road-tested during dates in 2013.
Cooley says, "This lineup is so direct. It can go from this chainsaw rock 'n' roll to very delicate, pretty-sounding stuff. We wrote a lot of those kinds of songs, and this lineup got all of that well."
Hood agrees: "We recorded with a stripped-down lineup that gave things a more primal and immediate feel. It's a more turn-on-a-dime kind of thing, which suits these songs, and us as a band. It's a very tasteful group, and when it needs to be it can be a very big, powerful, over-the-top band, too, and it can go from one to the other seamlessly."
Looking at the accomplishments of English Oceans from the perspective of DBT's nearly three-decade history, both Cooley and Hood decline to hedge their bets on the quality of their latest work.
"You're always hesitant to say, 'Oh, this is the best record we've ever made,'" Cooley says, "because you always want to. And sometimes you say it, and sometimes you're right, and sometimes you think, 'Well, maybe I jumped the gun on that a little bit, I got excited.' But I think this just might be the best record we've ever made."
Hood concurs enthusiastically: "It's my favorite thing that we've ever done. I'm proud of our catalog – we always try to make as good a record as we can make. Sometimes things just work. This time, we made kind of a magical record. I've always felt that Decoration Day was our best record, and this is the first one that I think is a better record than that was. Every piece of the puzzle fit."

Randy Houser to appear on Merle Haggard tribute album, coming to Chaifetz Thursday night

Randy Houser will appear on Merle Haggard's upcoming tribute album, "Working Man's Poet: A Tribute To Merle Haggard," which will be released April 1st on Broken Bow Records. Physical copies of the album will be available exclusively at Walmart and digital copies will be available exclusively from iTunes.
Other artists on the project include: Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Garth Brooks, Luke Bryan, Kristy Lee Cook, Ben Haggard, Toby Keith, Dustin Lynch, Joe Nichols, Jake Owen, Parmlaee, Thompson Square, and James Wesley. Garth Brooks to appear on WalMart Exclusive only.

Houser will perform "Misery and Gin" on the album, and is the first track.

Houser is currently on tour with Justin Moore, who is bringing his Off The Beaten Path Tour to Chaiftetz Arena, Thursday, March 27. Also on the bill is Josh Thompson.

Randy Houser is a man refreshed. “I don’t know how it happened, but everything in my life has started lining up,” says the Lake, Mississippi native. “I must have done somebody right in the past.”

Houser’s own past contains no shortage of achievement, including multiple nominations for ACM and CMA Awards, a #2 single in the form of “Boots On,” and songwriting credits for major names such as Trace Adkins, Justin Moore and Chris Young. In 2008—mere months after the release of his debut single, “Anything Goes”—Houser was even asked by David Letterman himself to appear on the Late Show. The singer’s first full-length, Anything Goes, came out later that year, followed in 2010 by They Call Me Cadillac.
And yet despite this early success, Houser now admits that he wasn’t truly happy. “It seemed like professionally things weren’t as great as they could be, and that was part of it,” he says. “But the biggest thing was not having a homebase. I needed an anchor.” He found one after marrying his wife, Jessa. “All of a sudden it was like I had this piece that had been missing,” he says with audible gratitude. Another piece—son West Yantz Houser—arrived this past spring, as did a crisp new look and a pact with Stoney Creek Records.
“Everybody there feels like part of my family,” Houser says of the independent imprint, where he happily signed following a long stretch of intensive touring. (How intensive? Think 150 shows a year.) “You walk in the door and everybody seems really happy with their job; there’s no strife in the air. That’s really important for me to have right now. It’s comforting.”

As for the album’s sound, Houser says it’s his most expansive outing yet, with more bells and whistles than he’s used in the past; it also showcases the remarkable voice that led Vince Gill to call Houser “one of the best in the new crop of country singer-songwriters” and caused his pal Jamey Johnson to say, “I watched a blind man jump to his feet and drop his crutches the first time he heard Randy Houser sing.”

Still, the heart of the album—of Houser’s entire outlook right now—remains the story of a man who’s moved through darkness into light. “I feel like I’ve reached such a special moment,” he says, and it’s a true pleasure to hear him inside it.

Tickets to events at the Chaifetz Arena can be purchased in person at the Box Office, online through www.thechaifetzarena.com, or charge by phone at 1-800-745-3000. Please be aware that tickets purchased through phones, Internet and outlets are subject to additional convenience charges.

SLEEPER AGENT'S ABOUT LAST NIGHTRELEASED TODAY

"The Kentucky group's sharp bracing examination of inner collapse should stoke buzz for the follow up to 2011's Celabrasion." - USA Today

"An album of stomping anthems" - Electronic Musician

"'Waves illustrates the album's sonic maturity by experimenting with atmospheric instrumental arrangements" - Alternative Press
LOS ANGELES, CA - MARCH 25, 2014 - Sleeper Agent's new album About Last Night is out today on RCA Records / Mom & Pop. To purchase the album now, click HERE.

See below from Sleeper Agent's Tony Smith:

About Last Night is OUT TODAY and that... is unbelievable. August 2012 was a pivotal month for us as a band. For the first time in two years, we had nothing to do. All of the tours, festivals, video shoots and meet and greets were gone. The "Celabrasion" was over. Alex and I moved into a quaint apartment, Scott began recording other bands, Justin started a new band, Lee bought a zillion vinyl records and Josh picked up odd jobs. We had a moment to reflect and it was BORING! We immediately got together and knocked out 3 new songs: "Be Brave", "Bad News" and "Eat You Up". Something felt different. The silly group of kids who wrote "devil-may-care" anthems, wrought with sexual innuendo, were gone. It was terrifying and yet, it felt right. As we plunged deeper and deeper down the rabbit hole it became clear that we had something special on our hands. We kept our grip tight on what we had. Today, with white knuckles and a heavy heart, we loosen that grip and hand About Last Night over to you. Pick up a copy, learn every word and join the family. We can't wait to share the experience of About Last Night with you every night. See you soon.

-Tony Smith, Sleeper Agent

In celebration of About Last Night, tonight at 5:00 PM CST Sleeper Agent will appear at Mellow Matt's Music & More in their hometown of Bowling Green, KY for an in-store acoustic performance and signing. "LIVE FROM THE ARTISTS DEN" EPISODE PREMIERES IN APRIL ON PUBLIC TELEVISION

TOUR INCLUDES PERFORMANCES AT BONNAROO, HANGOUT AND GOVERNORS BALL MUSIC FESTIVALS

Fresh off a European tour where Fitz and The Tantrums' new single "The Walker" is featured in a Renault commercial, Vogue's "Hardest Working Band" continues their onslaught with a sold out hometown show at The Palladium in Los Angeles on April 5 and a jam packed summer. Fitz and The Tantrums - praised by The Washington Post for their "captivatingly crazy" live show - will kick off an extensive summer headline tour on June 8 in Hampton Beach, NH. Tickets are on sale now for the run, which will come on the heels of the band's performances at the Hangout Beach, Music and Arts Festival in Gulf Shores, AL (May 16-18) and The Governors Ball Music Festival in New York City (June 6-8).  The band will also perform at the Bonnaroo Music Festival (June 12-15). See below for itinerary, which also includes Fitz and The Tantrums spring dates.

The band, which is touring in support of its latest album, More Than Just a Dream (Elektra Records), will perform on "Late Night with Seth Meyers" on April 9 and on "TODAY" April 10. Fitz and The Tantrums'episode of "Live from the Artists Den," filmed at the newly reopened Theatre at Ace Hotel in downtown Los Angeles, premieres on public television in April. For airdates and a first look at the episode, visithttp://artsts.de/1hT40el

"The Walker," the new single from More Than Just a Dream, is already a multi-format hit - #6 at both Alternative and Triple A formats and #15 at Hot AC - and the track just went to Top 40 radio. Fitz and The Tantrums are featured in Clear Channel's Artist Integration program this month, which increases awareness of new music projects through on-air and online promotional campaigns.

Beginning on Major League Baseball's Opening Day, March 31, "The Walker" will serve as the theme for MLB Network's newest daily studio show "High Heat with Christopher Russo." The video for "The Walker,"which was directed by Warren Kommers, has more than 1.3 million views. The track is also heard in the trailer that launched The Oscars' "Here We Go" promotional campaign, which has more than two million views, and The Dairy Council's "Laughing Cow" television ad campaign, which is airing now.

Fitz and The Tantrums - comprised of Fitz (vocals), Noelle Scaggs (vocals/tambourine), James King (saxophone), Jeremy Ruzumna (keyboards), John Wicks (drums) and Joseph Karnes (bass) - played their first show in December 2008 and self-released the EP Songs for a Breakup, Vol. 1 shortly thereafter. Soon the band was appearing on KCRW's "Morning Becomes Eclectic" and touring with Maroon 5. Their full-length debut, Pickin' Up the Pieces, spent 73 weeks on Billboard's Heatseekers chart, peaking at No. 1, and they were named a "You Oughta Know" artist by VH1.

The 2013 release of More Than Just a Dream - produced by Tony Hoffer (Beck, M83, Depeche Mode, Phoenix) - ratcheted things up several notches. "Out Of My League," the album's first single, hit No. 1 on Billboard'sAlternative Songs chart and was one of only eight songs to top the chart in 2013.

The official video has racked up more than three million views to date. USA Today noted, "the Los Angeles sextet is more than ready for the big leagues" while Rolling Stone said the group "is all about irrepressible energy: hopped-up rhythms, shout-it-out choruses, hooted background vocals." Fitz and The Tantrums have performed on numerous television shows, including "Jimmy Kimmel Live," "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," "Late Show with David Letterman," "Conan," "Good Morning America" and "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno."
