CHRIS STAPLETON LEADS NOMINEES AT 55TH ANNUAL CMA AWARDS

September 9, 2021—Ten-time CMA Award winner Chris Stapleton leads nominees at the 55th Annual CMA Awards with nominations in five categoriesEntertainer of the YearMale Vocalist of the YearAlbum of the Year (Starting Over), Single of the Year (“Starting Over”) and Song of the Year (“Starting Over”), while also earning additional producer credits in both the Album of the Year and Single of the Year categories. The awards ceremony will be broadcast live on ABC from Nashville on Wednesday, November 10 at 8:00pm ET/7:00pm CT.
The nominations add to yet another monumental year for Stapleton, who is currently in the midst of his extensive “All-American Road Show” tour. Of recent performances, the Charlotte Observer praises, “In a live setting, Chris Stapleton is a bit of a revelation, vocally and sonically, able to produce note-perfect facsimiles of the already-astounding studio versions of his Southern rock and outlaw country and bluegrass songs,” and went on to praise him as, “the soul of the show, the deliverer of raw, powerful, beautiful lyrics by way of one of the most uniquely arresting voices in country music today,” while the Austin American-Statesman asserts, “there’s probably no better touring act in country music at present.”
Upcoming “All-American Road Show” stops include New York’s Madison Square Garden, two nights at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena and Washington State’s Gorge Amphitheatre as well as “A Concert for Kentucky”—a special performance to be held at University of Kentucky’s Kroger Field on April 23, 2022. The concert is the first ever held at UK’s Kroger Field and will feature very special guests Willie Nelson and Family, Sheryl Crow and Yola. 100% of the concert’s net proceeds will benefit Stapleton’s newly created Outlaw State of Kind Hometown Fund. Established in partnership with the Blue Grass Community Foundation, the fund will specifically support local and national organizations directly impacting Kentucky, with initial grant distributions focusing on music and arts education. Tickets are on sale now at ChrisStapleton.com. See below for complete itinerary.
The tour further celebrates the release of Starting Over, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Country Albums chart. Moreover, the album’s title track recently reached #1 at country radio’s Mediabase Chart, only Stapleton’s second chart-topping single as an artist following 2018’s “Broken Halos.” Released this past fall on Mercury Records Nashville (stream/purchase here), Starting Over is an album of startling prescience, featuring fourteen tracks that examine life’s simplest joys and most serious struggles. Once again produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Dave Cobb, the record won Album of the Year at the 56th ACM Awards and landed on several “Best of 2020” lists including NPR Music, Rolling StoneBillboardEsquire, Vulture, The Tennessean and The New York Times, who declares, “Chris Stapleton’s roar isn’t designed to scare you off. It’s regal, an announcement of an alpha figure asserting his primacy…on this, his fourth album, the thrill is back.”

14 rich, intricately-wound odes to tiny admissions and big emotions”—Esquire
“mixes beautifully stark songwriting with blues, country, and rock melodies, allowing Stapleton’s sturdy, propulsive vocals to carry the show”—GQ

“Chris is at the top of his game with this record. It sounds like a record from a great.”
NPR Music
Starting Over may be Stapleton’s best album yet…every song on the album comes as a perfectly wrapped gift to the listener”—No Depression

The chill Nashville trailblazer feels at home in songs that echo his pop songwriting and his
country roots.

“if Starting Over offers a statement of principles, it’s that Stapleton is going to make Stapleton music, equal parts country, Southern rock, raw sentimentality, and self-reflective singer-songwriter-ism.”—Slate
“It is easily one of the best records I’ve heard this year. It’s easily one of the best country records I’ve heard in a long time. And I have no doubt it’s going to be one of the best country records I’ve heard this decade once everything is said and done.”

He has [Willie] Nelson’s tender touch, but his bluesy side is much louder; his is a part-acoustic, part-stinging approach in which Nelson’s Trigger meets B.B. King’s Lucille.”Variety
“It’s every bit the tour de force his breakthrough album was…Elegant writing and delicate musicianship combine in an album ranking among the year’s best.”—Vulture
Kentucky-born Stapleton is a 5x Grammy, 10x CMA and 9x ACM Award-winner and one of the country’s most respected and beloved musicians. Following 2015’s quintuple platinum breakthrough solo debut album Traveller, Stapleton released two #1 albums in 2017. Both From A Room: Volume 1 (certified platinum) and From A Room: Volume 2 (certified gold) take their name from legendary RCA Studio A, where they were recorded with Cobb. Released to overwhelming critical acclaim, The Tennessean praises, “Both are rich with the textures of Stapleton’s vocals that make him one of country music’s most beloved artists, classic country sounds and thoughtful articulate lyrics about love, life and pain.” He was also recently announced as the first-ever “Artist-Songwriter of the Decade” recipient by the Academy of Country Music.

LUKE COMBS NOMINATED FOR THREE CMA AWARDS INCLUDING ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR

the most promising and influential new country star of the last five
years”—The New York Times
September 9, 2021—Reigning Male Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year award-winner Luke Combs is nominated in three categories at the 55th Annual CMA AwardsEntertainer of the YearMale Vocalist of the Year and Song of the Year (“Forever After All”). The awards ceremony will be broadcast live on ABC from Nashville on Wednesday, November 10 at 8:00pm ET/7:00pm CT.
The nominations add to a monumental year for Combs, who recently earned his eleventh-consecutive #1 single with the platinum-certified “Forever After All,” a first on the chart the Billboard Country Airplay chart. “Forever After All” was also his tenth single to spend multiple weeks atop the chart and his eighth consecutive, multi-week #1 single. The song, which debuted at #2 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 chart this past November—the highest entrance ever for a male country solo artist—is also the sixth-consecutive #1 from Combs’ deluxe album, What You See Ain’t Always What You Get, tying the record for most #1 singles to come from the same album. Furthering his triumphant run at county radio, Combs’ current single, “Cold As You,” is currently top 15 at country radio and rising. Moreover, Combs recently released his new song, “South On Ya,” which has been selected as the official theme song for the SEC Network’s 2021 football season.
Out now via River House Artists/Columbia Nashville, What You See Ain’t Always What You Get debuted at #1 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart as well as Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart last fall. The deluxe edition features all 18 tracks from Combs’ double Platinum-certified, global #1 album, What You See Is What You Get, as well as five new songs. With the release, Combs reached #1 on Rolling Stone’s Top 200 Albums chart, Top 100 Songs chart and Artists 500 chart—the first country artist ever to lead all three charts in the same week and first to top the Artists 500.
Combs also recently made history as the first artist ever to have their first two studio albums spend 25 weeks or more at #1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart—breaking Taylor Swift’s previously held record at 24 weeks. The achievement comes as What You See Is What You Get topped the chart for the 25th time last summer, while his 2017 debut, This One’s For You, has spent 50 non-consecutive weeks at #1—tying the record for the longest reign atop the chart with Shania Twain’s Come On Over in 1997.
Adding to an already groundbreaking and historic career, Combs will embark on an extensive headline arena tour this fall featuring a special new in-the-round stage design. Kicking off this weekend at Raleigh’s PNC Arena (two nights), the tour includes stops at New York’s Madison Square Garden (two nights), San Francisco’s Chase Center, Houston’s Toyota Center, Chicago’s United Center (two nights), Dallas’ American Airlines Center (two nights) and Boston’s TD Garden (two nights) among several others. See below for complete itinerary.

NASHVILLE, TN (September 9, 2021) – CARLY PEARCE is living in her truth, and it turns out she is not alone. Since her breakout debut with “Every Little Thing,” the chart-topping singer/songwriter from Taylor Mill, Kentucky has sung her heartache with a side of sass rare in modern Country. Carly today earned her first CMA Awards nominations for both Female Vocalist and Album of the Year with 29, part one of a creative expression that will expand to 15 tracks as 29: Written In Stone is released on September 17 via Big Machine Records. With the album preview featuring two-time – and the first female – CMA Musician of the Year Jenee Fleenor, Carly has found a new confidence in the music she was born to.

Leading up to the moment, Carly will make her maiden solo appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! next Wednesday (9/15) to perform the looking-out-for-your-sister “Next Girl.” Tune in at 11:35/10:35c on ABC (check local listings).

Additionally, the GRAMMY Museum® invites Carly for an intimate discussion with Rolling Stone writer Samantha Hissong about the making of 29: WRITTEN IN STONE and a preview of some of the new tracks. Purchase tickets here and view the current COVID-19 safety policy here. Select content will also be available on 9/18 for their public programs digital series Spotlight Saturdays.

Fiercely rooted in the classics, the girl who left her Kentucky home and high school at 16 to take a job at Dollywood has grown into a woman who embraces the genre’s forward progression and is confident in what she wants to say. In a full circle surprise, iconic superstar and Grand Ole Opry member Dolly Parton extended the coveted invitation to Carly after 85+ appearances. The accolade follows her 2X PLATINUM-certified No. 1 “I Hope You’re Happy Now" duet with Lee Brice, which won both the CMA and ACM Awards for Musical/Music Event of the Year as well as ACM Single of the Year.

A committed songwriter, she believes truth and songs are the greatest form of resilience, whether facing the loss of her longtime champion and producer busbee or the end of her marriage. Crowning her upcoming release is “Dear Miss Loretta,” a from-the-heart outreach to Country Music Hall of Famer Loretta Lynn featuring fellow Kentucky icon Patty Loveless. She doubles down on real Country truth-telling with the double-crossed scorn of Ashley McBryde collaboration “Never Wanted To Be That Girl.” Carly not only dissects the human heart through song, but also considers the healing that comes with time. Fans can experience live versions as Carly joins Lady A’s WHAT A SONG CAN DO TOUR -- visit CarlyPearce.com for dates.

ASHLEY McBRYDE EARNS THREE NOMINATIONS FROM
THE COUNTRY MUSIC ASSOCIATION

Arkansas-Native Receives Nods for Female Vocalist of the Year,
Single and Song of the Year for Critically Acclaimed Platinum-Certified

“One Night Standards”
WATCH: The official music video for Ashley McBryde’s RIAA Platinum-Certified single “One Night Standards.”
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Following a three-night sold-out run of shows at the historic Ryman Auditorium, Ashley McBryde continues soaring to new heights in 2021 with three nominations from the Country Music Association: Female Vocalist of the Year, Single of the Year and Song of the Year for her critically acclaimed, RIAA Platinum-certified track “One Night Standards,” from her Warner Music Nashville follow-up Never Will.

“Hot damn!” the 2019 CMA New Artist of the Year exclaims. “I’m so excited for ‘One Night Standards’ to be nominated for both Song and Single of the Year, and I’m so glad to have my friends and cowriters Nicolette Hayford and Shane McAnally along for the rewarding ride this track has given us.

“Female vocalist category is STACKED!” she continues, praising, “I’m honored and stoked to be in this category with these women who all work so hard and entertain their asses off.”

Lead single “One Night Standards” emerged as McBryde’s first Top 10 hit after landing on
NPR’s “25 Best Songs of 2019,” while The New York Times named the track in the top three “Best Songs of 2020,” marking the only country song in the top 15, with Jon Pareles sharing, “Ashley McBryde provides pithy, matter-of-fact details of a random hookup — ‘I don’t really care if you’re here when I wake up’ — and while the music swells, her heart stays cold.”

Last month, the Arkansas-native fulfilled another milestone in her career, selling out three consecutive nights at Ryman Auditorium from Aug. 26 through Aug. 28, marking her headlining debut at the Mother Church of Country Music. Fans were thrilled to experience a wide breadth of songs from throughout McBryde’s career, singalongs with opening acts Lainey Wilson, Caylee Hammack and Caitlyn Smith, along with surprise special guests Eric Church and Terri Clark, the latter surprising McBryde on stage with a plaque commemorating the RIAA Platinum status of “One Night Standards.”

During night one, Aug. 26, McBryde beamed at the at-capacity crowd and shared, “Here’s one of my other favorite reasons to love country music, live music period. For as long as I stand here, as long as Lainey (Wilson) stands here, as long as you stand or sit here, nothing else gets to matter. For 90 minutes, I’ve got no problems. There’s nothing else in this world that can accomplish not giving a shit that doesn’t come in a bottle or a pill. Country music, it only elevates. So, if you had a great day today, we’re so happy you chose us to celebrate with, and if you had a shit day today, you leave the rest of that to us.”

About Ashley McBryde
Ashley McBryde cut her teeth playing country songs in rural biker bars – and it shows. Her 2018 major label debut Girl Going Nowhere (Warner Music Nashville) charmed the New York TimesNPRRolling StonePasteThe Washington Post, and more, all en route to landing a GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Album. McBryde closed out 2019 with ACM New Female Artist, CMT Breakout Artist of the Year, a New Artist of the Year win at the 53rd Annual CMA Awards and two nominations for the 2020 GRAMMYs for Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance for “Girl Goin’ Nowhere.” Her follow-up Never Will, released April 3, was tagged by Rolling Stone as one of the most anticipated of the year alongside NPR, who also ranked her Top 10 RIAA Platinum-Certified single “One Night Standards” as one of the best songs of 2019. Produced once again by Jay Joyce, Never Will reveals the witty, confessional, detail-driven songwriting addressing a wide spectrum of blue-collar Southern women’s experience introduced on Girl Going Nowhere is still here, but perhaps even sharper, earning McBryde a 2021 GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Album, making Never Will the only album nominated for Country Album of the Year by the ACMs, CMAs and the Recording Academy in the same award season. The music itself is stadium-ready rock-and-roll with a bluegrass wink or two and country music’s storytelling heart––and McBryde, no longer new, is the music’s ordained and highly capable standard bearer. Recognized by the Country Music Association, McBryde is up for three 2021 awards: Female Vocalist of the Year + Single and Song of the Year for “One Night Standards.” McBryde’s This Town Talks Tour is currently underway with over 35 stops before wrapping on Jan. 15, 2022. #w/ The Cold Stares

For their newest release, out September 17th, Larkin Poe partnered with innovative hybrid orchestra Nu Deco Ensemble for Paint the Roses: Live in Concert -- a new album that reinterprets Larkin Poe’s music, including their 2020 release Self Made Man and more, through an orchestral lens. Paint the Roses documents a collaborative, livestreamed concert by the two artistic groups in December 2020 at Miami’s North Beach Bandshell. The performance was part of Nu Deco’s 2020-21 virtual and socially-distanced concert season, which featured the ensemble’s genre-bending orchestral music and its powerful first collaboration with Larkin Poe.

In 2020, Larkin Poe ascended to #1 on an array of Billboard charts with their widely-acclaimed fifth studio album, Self Made Man, available via the band's own Tricki-Woo Records. The COVID-19 lockdown didn’t keep the Lovells from reaching their fans; the duo performed a number of "Home Sweet Home" livestream concerts and added to their much-loved YouTube covers series. Last summer, they released their second full-length of the year, Kindred Spirits, a self-produced collection of stripped-back covers both classic and new, including songs by the Allman Brothers Band, Robert Johnson, Elton John, Post Malone, Ozzy Osbourne, and more.
