– Spearheaded by George Lopez, “A Night For Richard” will honor the legacy of Richard Pryor in a historic,one-night-only show at the SMG managed Peoria Civic Center, in Peoria, Illinois, on Sunday, November 2nd to benefit the Richard Pryor statue. Lopez has invited some of the biggest names in comedy to join him in honoring Pryor, including Cedric ‘The Entertainer’, D.L. Hughley, Eddie Griffin, and Mike Epps. The seven-and-a-half foot clay carving of Richard Pryor by Peoria-based artist Preston Jackson will serve as the gateway to the city’s developing Warehouse District. It is slated for unveiling at the end of 2014. The late comedian's wife, Jennifer Lee Pryor, has also given her support to the event. “There is no greater tribute than when your hometown honors you. I am thrilled and moved by this beautiful work of art by Preston Jackson. I know Richard is happy too and is smiling down. Cedric ‘The Entertainer’ is an actor and game show host, best known for co-starring along with Harvey on “The Steve Harvey Show” and starring as ‘Eddie’ in the Barbershop films. D.J. Hughley was a member of The Original Kings of Comedy, a correspondent for The Jay Leno Show, host of D.L. Hughley Breaks The News on CNN and the original host of BET’s ComicView. Eddie Griffin appeared on the big screen in Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo, Scary Movie 3, John Q, and Armageddon to name a few. Griffin performed on Simmons’ “Def Comedy Jam,” many standup specials and starred in hit comedy series “Malcolm and Eddie” he even wrote and produced four episodes, one of which featured his mentor, Richard Pryor. Mike Epps got his big break as ‘Day-Day’ in Next Friday and Friday After Next. (St. Louis, MO – February 6, 2013) Queen of Comedy Sommore, alongside veteran comedians Bruce Bruce, D.L. Hughley, Tony Rock and Arnez J. will command the stage at Chaifetz Arena at Saint Louis University with “The Royal Comedy Tour” on Saturday, May 11 at 8 p.m.

As the undisputed “Queen of Comedy,” Sommore is widely considered one of America’s top comedic female entertainers and combines sass and class to entertain audiences. She is the star of the upcoming comedy special “Chandelier Status” and was the first woman to host BET’s “Comic View.” Sommore offers a hilarious, yet piercing look at today’s issues from a woman’s perspective, which led Oprah Winfrey to proclaim her “a force to be reckoned with in the new millennium.” Before becoming a comedy star, Sommore taught algebra in the Atlanta public school system. Sommore has been featured in numerous films including “Friday After Next,” “Family Reunion,” “Soul Plane,” “Something New” and “Dirty Laundry.”

Bruce Bruce’s steady style of captivating improv skills and larger-than-life comedic style has been showcased across the country. The road to comedic success began when he was working as a chef after high school where he would entertain his customers while cooking up BBQ dishes. He later worked as a Frito-Lays salesman where he did everything from shelf placement to performing comedy sets during corporate meetings. Eventually, Bruce Bruce brought his comedy routine to the Comedy Act Theater in Atlanta and was an instant hit. Bruce Bruce has appeared in “Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector,” “Who’s Your Caddy” and Ice Cube’s “XXX: State of the Union.”

Los Angeles native D.L. Hughley’s career has made waves in the television, film and radio arenas. Hughley was the star of the long-running sitcom “The Hughleys” and was one of four comedians featured in “The Original Kings of Comedy.” He has also been the host of CNN’s “D.L. Hughley Breaks the News” and has been a correspondent for “The Jay Leno Show.”

Younger brother of Chris, Tony Rock has also hosted several of his own shows, including the “Tony Rock Project” and a feature on “Comedy Central Presents.” Rock is currently hosting the newly revamped talent competition “Apollo Live” and is a series regular on season 2 of BET’s “Reed Between the Lines.” Rock appeared as a recurring character in the TV series “Everybody Hates Chris” and has had numerous appearances on the big screen, with roles in films such as “Hitch,” “Three Can Play That Game” and “Life Support.”

After realizing that stand-up comedy was his true calling, Arnez J. began to work the comedy circuit in Georgia. Arnez J. has made television appearances on Comedy Central’s “Make Me Laugh,” Russell Simmons’ “Def Comedy Jam” and “Louie Anderson’s Comedy Showcase” among others.
