10x grammy winners advocate for cannabis in "mellow" anthem

Filmed at Willie Nelson’s Luck, TX (‘Red Headed Stranger’ set), Asleep at the Wheel brings "award-winning credibility to the fight against prohibition” (PRØHBTD) in its new video for “Jack I’m Mellow,” out today (10.5).

As advocates for recreational marijuana use, the band takes on a light-hearted production of one of the first cannabis anthems. A track on the band’s latest album ‘New Routes’ (9.14), the "old-fashioned ode to getting high” (Rolling Stone Country) revamps the 1930s Trixie Smith tune with new-age, jazz-infused Western swing.

The video finds fiddle player and vocalist Katie Shore, also known as Miss 4/20, toking her way into a daydream as she dances around Luck with more than enough “reserve” for band-leader Ray Benson and the whole crew.
