Kenny Chesney’s THE BIG REVIVAL 2015
Hits The Stadiums
Hitting Scottrade Center first on Wednesday
Joins Jason Aldean’s BURN IT DOWN To Open San Francisco’s Levi’s Stadium May 2 NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Monday, April 27, 2015) – When Kenny Chesney kicked off his The Big Revival 2015 Tour with two sold-out nights at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, he knew it was just the tip of the iceberg. The man who’s the only country artist in Billboard’s Top 10 Touring Acts of the Last 25 Years – headlining for only 12 – is the most alive when he’s taking his always high-energy shows to the largest venues. Saturday, May 2, Chesney merges THE BIG REVIVAL TOUR with Jason Aldean’s wildly successful BURN IT DOWN TOUR for the first of a dozen co-headlining shows. The pair will open San Francisco’s brand new Levi’s Stadium – bringing high impact country to the Bay area for one definitive night of music. “There is nothing I love more than playing stadiums,” Chesney says. “The energy and the size of the stage lets me get close to so many more people – and that is a feeling unlike any other. To be able to join up with Jason for these shows this summer, I think it’s the kind of night people won’t forget.” The man The Wall Street Journal deemed “The King of the Road” has a special place in his heart for the City By The Bay. As he says, “San Francisco has always been an amazing place for us. I’ve had Steve Miller and Sammy Hagar join me onstage there... The fans come early, they stay late – and they always send us into multiple encores. If this is how we’re kicking off the year in stadiums, this is going to be a pretty strong bar-setter.” Chesney, a 4-time Country Music Association and 4-time consecutive Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year, has had 26 #1s, 13 #1 Albums and sold in excess of 30 albums. Heralded as “The People’s Superstar” by The Los Angeles Times, his summer concerts are legend: indeed, many people plan their vacations around his tour schedule. Jason Aldean, whose Old Boots, New Dirt became his second #1 Billboard Top 200 Album chart debut, is known for high intensity shows, his sense of true grit and songs that capture the way his fans genuinely live. Country's most downloaded male artist and three-time Academy of Country Music Male Vocalist of the Year has extended his wildly successful BURN IT DOWN TOUR into 2015, including the dozen stadium shows with Chesney. This pairing extends beyond the two headliners. Joining them in San Francisco will be Jake Owen, known for his laid back, but invested take on country – including the #1 hits “Beachin’,” “Barefoot Blue Jean Night” and “What I Ain’t Got.” Also on the bill is Luke Bryan/Thomas Rhett/Florida Georgia Line hit songwriter/emerging artist Cole Swindell, whose hit #1 on his own “Chillin’ It” and “Hope You Get Lonely Tonight.” Kenny Chesney’s THE BIG REVIVAL TOUR is presented by Corona Light & Blue Chair Bay Rum. The tour, with Chesney headlining, and special guests Jake Owen and Cole Swindell hit the Scottrade Center on Wednesday, May 6. Tickets or available by logging on to www.livenation.com. Only Nashville, Tennessee could give birth to a band like the SteelDrivers: a group of seasoned veterans –each distinguished in his or her own right, each valued in the town’s commercial community – who are seizing an opportunity to follow their hearts to their souls’ reward. In doing so, they are braiding their bluegrass roots with new threads of their own design, bringing together country, soul, and other contemporary influences to create an unapologetic hybrid that is old as the hills but fresh as the morning dew. This is new music with the old feeling. SteelDrivers fan Vince Gill describes the band’s fusion as simply "an incredible combination."

Turkuaz is a 9-piece “Powerfunk” army hailing from Brooklyn, NY, whose modern twist on the classic sound has placed them at the forefront of a new funk evolution. With the obvious influences—Parliament, Sly & The Family Stone, Rick James and Zapp and Roger—as the basis for a recipe, Turkuaz adds healthy doses of Talking Heads inspired jittery, world-pop-dance grooves and a passion for The Beatles, Motown and R&B into the mix, resulting in a refreshing update to the funk idiom. A universally appealing dance band at its core, Turkuaz’s tightly arranged songs are built on thick grooves, driven by a powerhouse rhythm section and interlaced with swirling guitar lines and synthy keyboard riffs.

Kenny Chesney’s Two-Fisted No. 1 Party
“American Kids” & “'Til It’s Gone” Feted for Topping Country Charts
Nashville, Tenn. (April 28, 2015) -- When you reach for songs that capture people’s lives, country fans respond. For Kenny Chesney, who took a year off to concentrate on making what became The Big Revival, he’s already seen the project yield the GRAMMY - and triple Academy of Country Music-nominated “American Kids” and the surging “’Til It’s Gone,” his 25th and 26th No. 1 hits.
“I’ve
been blessed to know some of the very best songwriters there are,”
Chesney says, “starting at Acuff Rose as a kid, I learned when you can
give folks their lives, people will respond. It’s an honor to be able to
give songs like ‘American Kids’ and ‘’Til It’s Gone’ to the fans – and
to be able to call people like Rodney Clawson, Luke Laird, Shane
McAnally, David Lee Murphy and Jimmy Yeary my friends.”
The Big Revival, Chesney’s 13th
No. 1 Album debut, pushed country’s boundaries. Celebrating the way
people live in the flyover, both songs capture the details, realities
and especially the exuberance of the moments, memories and laughter that
define being absolutely alive in America today.
“With
two hooks, three rhythm scans and some of the most ingenious wordplay
I’ve ever heard, ‘American Kids’ was a song that stopped me in my
tracks,” Chesney says, “seven, eight, ten seconds in, I took my head
phones off and said to Shane (McAnally), ‘I’m gonna cut it.’ Songs you
can wrap your record around don’t come along very often. I’m glad this
one came to me.”
Written
by Rodney Clawson, Luke Laird and Shane McAnally, “American Kids”
evokes the little pink houses and "born in the USA" of several
generations, while embodying the swept-up-in-the-moment urgency and
complete abandon of today’s teens and twenty-somethings.
“'Til It’s Gone” gave Clawson back-to-back No. 1s at the party. “'Til It's Gone” was written with Jimmy Yeary and David Lee Murphy. With the sweeping melody and a bridge that breaks down the ultimate invitation to live and love in full, the man The Los Angeles Times deemed “The People’s Superstar” ratifies the power of music to inspire.
“When
Kenny Chesney cuts one of your songs, you know it’s going to get
delivered,” Murphy told publishers, songwriters and industry insiders
present to resounding applause.
“I
think it was David Lee who said to me,” Chesney responded, “‘Well, when
you get back out there, what do you want to say to your audience?’ And
this song is about living in the moment WITH someone, but if you back
away... and look at it as all those people (in the audience), that’s exactly what I wanted to say. I knew when I heard the demo, the groove, the mood, the lyric that was it! I’m blessed they send me their demos.”
Chesney's BIG REVIVAL TOUR hits the Scottrade Center on Wednesday, May 6. For tickets, log on to www.livenation.com
