Toby Keith To Have "Drinks" With Wild Shot Winners "Drinks After Work" Sweepstakes Starts May 1; Mezcal Tours With Toby Again
NASHVILLE, Tenn., -- How badly do fans want to have "Drinks After Work" with chart-topping superstar Toby Keith? Bad enough that at his charity golf tournament last year, someone paid $4,000 to take a shot of Toby's signature Wild Shot Mezcal with its namesake. Twice!
While that $8,000 was a nice bump for the Toby Keith Foundation's charitable efforts, it's likely out of the realm of possibilities for most fans. That's where the "Drinks After Work" Sweepstakes comes in. Named for his current album, the contest offers winners a one-of-a-kind experience with Keith later this year.
Fans 21-and-over can enter once-per-day now through Aug. 31 by registering at facebook.com/wildshotmezcal. No purchase is necessary. Five grand-prize winners and a guest get to have "Drinks After Work" with Toby at one of the Toby Keith's I Love This Bar & Grill locations. Winners will be revealed Sept. 12 on the aforementioned Facebook page.
Of course, thousands more will get to have a drink with Keith at one of his many tour stops this summer. For the third year in a row, Wild Shot will bring its inflatable bar on the road. Attendees of the Shut Up And Hold On Tour Presented by Ford F-Series, will be able to enjoy shots of Wild Shot and the wildly popular "Blue Mezcalita" cocktails. And starting today, the national chain Glory Days Grill (22 locations) will feature their own Wild Shot cocktail, Red Solo Cup Sunrise (recipe below).
As he prepares for next month's tour launch, Keith is coming off a high-profile prime time performance on the highly rated Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas. He also taped a performance for the ACM's All-Star Salute To The Troops (airing May 20 on CBS), during which he was honored with the Spirit of the USO Award for his tireless work in support of America's fighting men and women. Meanwhile, music's "$500 Million Man" (Forbes) continues to be a top-drawing performer and successful entrepreneur in music, restaurants (Toby Keith's I Love This Bar & Grill) and, of course, spirits.
About Wild Shot: Toby Keith launched Wild Shot, a handcrafted, 100% green agave, 86.8 proof mezcal, in 2011 and almost immediately it began winning awards. Wild Shot was named the top premium mezcal in the United States according to industry publication Beverage Media. In 2013, Wild Shot received a gold medal in the "Best Mezcal" awards by award-winning lifestyle website TheFiftyBest.com, raters of "the finest in wines and spirits." Publications Food and Drink, Shanken News Daily and The Tasting Panel also weighed in with high praise. Wild Shot is imported by Shaw-Ross, a leading importer and marketer of fine wines and spirits and is available in 41 states. Many of the Wild Shot cocktails, including the "Ciudad" and "Swamp Water," were created at Keith's restaurant, I Love This Bar & Grill, the home of Wild Shot Mezcal. Find them at www.wildshot.com.
