The international Tony® Award Winning musical, MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET is set on December 4, 1956, when an auspicious twist of fate brought Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley together. Sam Phillips, the “Father of Rock ‘n’ Roll” who was responsible for launching the careers of each icon, brought the four legendary musicians together at the Sun Records storefront studio in Memphis for the first and only time. The resulting evening became known as one of the greatest rock ‘n’ roll jam sessions in history.
MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET brings that legendary night to life with an irresistible tale of broken promises, secrets, betrayal and celebrations featuring an eclectic score of rock, gospel, R&B and country hits including; “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Fever,” “Sixteen Tons,” “Who Do You Love?,” “Great Balls of Fire,” “Matchbox,” “Folsom Prison Blues,” “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On,” “Hound Dog,” and more.
Portraying these icons are, James Barry as Carl Perkins, David Elkins as Johnny Cash, Ben Goddard as Jerry Lee Lewis, Cody Slaughter as Elvis Presley (April 23-28) and Billy Woodward as Elvis Presley (April 30-May 5). The “Father of Rock ‘n’ Roll” Sam Phillips is played by Vince Nappo (April 23-28) and Scott Moreau (April 30-May 5). The cast also features Kelly Lamont as Dyanne, and musicians Billy Shaffer (Fluke, drums), and Corey Kaiser (Jay Perkins, bass). CRAIG CAMPBELL SETS MAY 7 RELEASE DATE
FOR SOPHOMORE ALBUM NEVER REGRET
Announces Inaugural Celebrity Cornhole Challenge
Benefitting TJ Martell’s Colon Cancer Research

Nashville, TN…(March 28, 2013)…After selling more than a half-million tracks from his debut effort, Bigger Picture artist Craig Campbell today revealed on his Facebook page the street date and cover artwork for his highly anticipated sophomore album, NEVER REGRET. The twelve-song project, which features the evocative lead single “Outta My Head,” will join the ranks of country music hit-makers Lady Antebellum and Pistol Annies to release on May 7, 2013. On this second record, Campbell continues to work with Grammy Award winning producer Keith Stegall (Alan Jackson, Zac Brown Band) and CCMA Album of The Year producer, Matt Rovey.

Shortly after the release of his sophomore record and in honor of his late father, Craig will host the inaugural Celebrity Cornhole Challenge to benefit the TJ Martell Foundation’s colon cancer research efforts. The announcement of June’s event comes at a timely moment as National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month is coming to a close. “This tournament will benefit colon cancer awareness and research, which I am very passionate about,” states Campbell. With a smile in his eyes, he continues, “my father passed away at the age of 36 from the disease, and what better event to benefit colon cancer care than a ‘Cornhole’ tournament.” Just last week, Craig joined Alan Jackson to perform at the Stars Go Blue concert in Nashville to benefit the Colon Cancer Alliance.

The Craig Campbell Cornhole Challenge will take place on June 4th from 2pm-7pm at the Public Square in Downtown Nashville as the unofficial kickoff to 2013’s CMA Music Festival week. Craig will be joined by fellow country artists and celebrity friends including Chase Rice, THE FARM, Gloriana, Greg Bates, Jerrod Niemann, LoCash Cowboys, Love and Theft, Rachel Bradshaw, Australian duo Baylou, GAC’s Suzanne Alexander, Titans Kicker Rob Bironas, and more to be announced. In addition to playing cornhole with Craig and his celebrity friends, participants and attendees will be entertained by live music and great local food and drinks. Tickets for the event can be purchased HERE.

ABOUT CRAIG CAMPBELL: After moving from his hometown of Lyons, Georgia to Nashville in 2002 to pursue his country music dreams, American Country Awards nominee Craig Campbell quickly picked up work as a keyboardist in Luke Bryan and Tracy Byrd’s bands and was later discovered playing a regular gig at legendary Nashville honky-tonk, The Stage. Since signing with Bigger Picture, he has entertained crowds across the U.S., Australia and Switzerland, performed for national TV audiences on Fox & Friends, Huckabee and Marie and has been profiled in HLN’s series Road Warriors. The singer-songwriter has earned well-deserved praise from the country’s toughest critics for his 2011 self-titled debut album, which has sold more than a half-million tracks. Campbell’s autobiographical lead single, “Family Man” was a top 15 hit followed by fan-favorite “Fish.” His current smash "Outta My Head" is the title track to his 5-song digital EP and the lead single from his sophomore album, set to release on Tuesday, May 7. To learn more about Craig, visit www.craigcampbell.tv and follow him on Twitter @craigcampbelltv.

St. Louis To Host Historic National Poetry Event
7th Grade Poetry Foundation’s Award Winners Read Poems for Live Audience April 17 for World To See

St. Louis, MO, March 28, 2013 – National Poetry Month will be celebrated in St. Louis with a world wide livestream of the 7th Grade Poetry Foundation’s  (7GP) annual event: Poetry On Their Terms.  The winning poets of this nationwide contest have the opportunity to read their compositions before a live audience on April 17th.   7GP will broadcast the event simultaneously online through their website 7thgradepoetry.org.  Viewers from anywhere in the world with an internet connection will be able to watch history being made.

On April 17th, a capacity crowd will join together at the St. Louis Public Library’s (SLPL) newly restored Central Library in Downtown St. Louis to hear 93 winning poems from across the country.  St. Louis Board of Alderman President Lewis Reed and SLPL Executive Director Waller McGuire will present awards and poets Cheryl Walker and Nicky Rainey will host the ceremony.  71 of the winning students will attend while those unable to attend will submit videos to be shown or have a guest reader do the honors.  The broadcast will be available to watch online beginning at 4:30pm CT on the 7GP website.  Winners will have their poems published in an anthology donated to their schools and public libraries and receive a cash prize.  Videos of past winners reading their poems are archived on the Foundation’s site.

This is the first year a poetry contest of this kind has been open to any 7th grader in the United States, with 92 schools from 7 states (MO, IL, NM, SD, NY, AR, TX) participating.  The St. Louis-based charity hosted the contest for their metro area for two previous years inviting every charter, faith-based, private and public school to enter.  “According to the Harvard Business Review blog, two of the top skills that businesses are looking for in employees are creative thinking and succinctly making a point.  This is what writing poetry trains you to do,” said Founder Aaron Williams.  “With statistics showing severely deficient writing and literacy skills in our youth, the Foundation’s mission is to create a writing revolution by giving all students the chance to have their poetic voices celebrated.”

Feedback from the schools have shown that this contest not only validates a student’s writing ability outside of the classroom, but provides a creative and mature outlet for their feelings and improves self-esteem.  Participating teachers told Williams that this contest has given them insight into their students not reflected in general class work.  Educators also found that students not normally interested in writing or recognized for academic achievements stepped up and demonstrated a natural talent for poetry writing.  “The Library is delighted to host 7GP. Though these poets are only in 7th grade, they have strong messages to share.  Anyone who comes to listen will be wowed by the depth of feeling, as well as their use of sophisticated poetic styles,” said Patty Carleton, Director of Youth Services for the St. Louis Public Library.

Earlier this year, Williams donated a prized piece of Polish contemporary art by Wojciech Fangor that was auctioned by Sotheby’s New York .  Proceeds from the painting’s sale were matched by Williams and approximately $70,000 was awarded to 7GP.  He hopes that others will be inspired by his personal commitment to the Foundation’s cause and choose to make their own charitable donation.

The 7th Grade Poetry Foundation collaborates with educators to improve academic outcomes, and unites families and communities through an enhanced appreciation of poetry.  To carry out its mission, the charity sponsors this school-based poetry writing contest for students in the 7th grade — the year schools are required to teach poetry as part of the Common Core State Standard Initiative.  Students are given the freedom to write on any topic in any style of poetry.  Each school selects its own winner based solely on the written words.  School registration for their 2013-2014 event is a simple process and can be done on their website.

Coming April 1: Budweiser Clydesdale Farm to Open for 2013 Season

Public Invited to Visit Baby Clydesdales, Including Super Bowl TV Star 'Hope' and 'Stan,' Named After Baseball Great Musial

BOONVILLE, Mo.,  -- Spring means the return of baseball and, in just a few days, opening day celebrations around the United States. It also marks another annual event celebrated by fans of the Budweiser Clydesdales – "opening day" at Warm Springs Ranch in mid-Missouri for public tours, where more than 35 baby Clydesdales are expected to be born in 2013.
Jeff Knapper, general manager for Clydesdale operations for Anheuser-Busch, said that through March 27, seventeen baby Clydesdales have been born at Anheuser-Busch's state-of-the-art Clydesdale breeding farm, which is home to more than 100 Budweiser Clydesdales.  This includes Hope, the star of Budweiser's award-winning and top-ranked Super Bowl commercial, and Stan, the first-born foal of 2013, named after all-time MLB great Stan Musial. Public tours begin Monday, April 1, and the ranch remains open until Oct. 31.
"Some tour dates, particularly Saturdays in the spring, already are sold out," Knapper said. "On some other days there is limited availability. The popularity of the Super Bowl spot has certainly piqued the public's curiosity around the training of Budweiser Clydesdales and how they spend their early years."
The ranch offers twice-daily tours every day except for Wednesday. The tour costs $10 per person and lasts one-and-a-half hours. To reserve a tour spot (reservations are required) or for more information, visit www.warmspringsranch.com.
New for 2013, the ranch now offers a VIP tour. On the tour, guests climb aboard a custom-built vehicle to enjoy a private excursion on the 300-plus acres and talk with Clydesdale handlers. The VIP tour also includes time in the pastures with the Clydesdales, as well as samples of Budweiser for adult guests older than 21 at the end of the tour and a photo opportunity with one of the world famous Budweiser Clydesdales. Each VIP tour costs $500 and can accommodate up to 16 guests, with the tour offered once daily.
In a little more than a week, on April 7, the Clydesdales will celebrate a major milestone – the 80th anniversary of their association with Anheuser-Busch. The Budweiser Clydesdales have been an integral part of Anheuser-Busch's heritage since April 7, 1933, and their strength and majesty symbolize Budweiser quality and team spirit.  They were formally introduced to celebrate the repeal of Prohibition for beer.
John Soto, supervisor of Warm Springs Ranch, has been providing care for the Clydesdales for 33 years. In fact, he was the inspiration for the handler featured in the "Brotherhood" Super Bowl commercial that won USA Today's AdMeter.
"Since the Super Bowl, many people have asked me what it feels like to have been portrayed by an actor on such a large stage," Soto said. "I tell them I'm humbled and lucky, but that's really how I feel every day, getting to share my life with and care for these beautiful animals, each of which has their own personality."
In 2012 Warm Springs Ranch welcomed 16,252 visitors from around the world, up more than 36 percent from the year before, and also welcomed 28 baby Clydesdales: 18 fillies (girls) and 10 colts (boys). For opening week this year, visitors from more than 10 states, spanning from California to Florida, have already reserved spots on the tours.
About Warm Springs Ranch
Warm Springs Ranch features a 25,000-square-foot breeding barn with a veterinary lab and 10 pastures, each with a customized, walk-in shelter and free-flowing water dispensers.   The farm sits on 300-plus acres of land, allowing the Clydesdales plenty of room to exercise and roam.
Dedicated staff is on site around the clock to ensure the baby Clydesdales are welcomed into the world in comfort and safety.  Those Clydesdales born with the proper markings for a Budweiser Clydesdale – a bay coat, a blaze of white on the face, four white stocking feet, and a black mane and tail – have a future spot on one of the traveling hitches.

Legendary Singer-Songwriter Smokey Robinson Signs With Verve Music Group To Release First-Of-Its-Kind Duets Album In Fall Of 2013

ROBINSON SIGNED TO LABEL BY GRAMMY®-WINNING SONGWRITER DAVID FOSTER

AMERICAN IDOL HIGHLIGHTS ROBINSON'S NEW RECORD ON 3/27 BROADCAST

LOS ANGELES, March 28,  Legendary Motown icon and Grammy® award-winning songwriter, Smokey Robinson, has signed a record deal with Verve Music Group.  Robinson was signed to the label by its Chairman, David Foster, to release his 29th career LP, a special duets album, due out this coming fall.  The album will also be guided by highly regarded A&R executive, Jay Landers.  In addition, Robinson made a surprise appearance on last night's American Idol where he served as a mentor to the show's contestants.  During the broadcast, Idol host Ryan Seacrest brought attention to Robinson's forthcoming album and spotlighted the artist's new project.
"I'm really excited about signing with Verve Music Group to release this upcoming album," said Smokey Robinson.  "Not only do I have a musical history with the guys involved, but a longstanding friendship as well.  I'm looking forward to bringing our talents to the table as we collaborate on this project."
"From the early 60's to this very day, you can turn on a radio anywhere in the world and hear his music," said David Foster, Verve Music Group Chairman.  "Smokey Robinson's contributions to the world of music as a performer, producer and songwriter are nothing short of a 'miracle'.  I'm so pleased to welcome Smokey to the Verve Music Group family.  We're looking forward to a great collaboration worthy of the legacy of this great label."
The album, which is due out in the fourth quarter of 2013, features Robinson performing his greatest hits alongside a celebrated roster of contemporary and classic artists whose influence will span the depth of Robinson's stellar 50 plus year career.  Unlike any other duet-themed project produced to date, this unique album will include hits all written by Robinson, such as all-time favorites: "My Girl," "Cruisin," and "The Tears of a Clown," to name a few.
ABOUT SMOKEY ROBINSON
Once pronounced by Bob Dylan as America's "greatest living poet," acclaimed singer-songwriter Smokey Robinson's career spans over four decades of hits. He has received numerous awards including two Grammy's, the Grammy Living Legend Award, NARAS Lifetime Achievement Award, Honorary Doctorate (Howard University), Kennedy Center Honors and the National Medal of Arts Award from the President of the United States. He has also been inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters' Hall of Fame.
Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Robinson founded The Miracles while still in high school. The group was Berry Gordy's first vocal group, and it was at Robinson's suggestion that Gordy started the Motown Records dynasty. Their single of Robinson's "Shop Around" became Motown's first #1 hit on the R&B singles chart. In the years following, Robinson continued to pen hits for the group, including "You've Really Got a Hold on Me," "Ooh Baby Baby," "The Tracks of My Tears," "Going to a Go-Go," "More Love," "The Tears of a Clown" (co-written with Stevie Wonder), and "I Second That Emotion."
The Miracles dominated the R&B scene throughout the 1960's and early 70's and Robinson became Vice President of Motown Records serving as in-house producer, talent scout and songwriter.
In addition to writing hits for The Miracles, Robinson wrote and produced hits for other Motown greats including The Temptations, Mary Wells, Brenda Holloway, Marvin Gaye and others. "The Way You Do the Things You Do," "My Girl," "Get Ready," "You Beat Me to the Punch," "Don't Mess with Bill," "Ain't That Peculiar," and "My Guy" are just a few of his songwriting triumphs during those years.
John Lennon of The Beatles made countless remarks regarding Robinson's influence on his music. The Beatles had recorded Robinson and The Miracles' "You've Really Got A Hold On Me" in 1963 and in 1982 another popular British group, The Rolling Stones, covered the Robinson and the Miracles' hit, "Going To A Go-Go."
He later turned to a solo career where he continued his tradition of hit making with "Just to See Her," "Quiet Storm," "Cruisin'," and "Being with You," among others.
He remained Vice President of Motown records until the sale of the company, shaping the label's success with friend and mentor Berry Gordy. Following his tenure at Motown, Robinson has released several successful solo albums and continues his impressive touring career to date.
During the course of his 50 plus year career in music, Robinson has accumulated more than 4,000 songs to his credit and continues to thrill sold-out audiences around the world with his high tenor voice, impeccable timing, and profound sense of lyric. Never resting on his laurels, Smokey Robinson remains a beloved icon in our musical heritage.

Old Rock House announces two new shows

Here are two shows for June... they will both go on-sale Fri. 3/29 @ 5pm.

The Boxer Rebellion
w/ Fossil Collective
Friday, June 14th
Doors 7pm  Show 8pm
$14 Advance $16 Day of Show
All Ages

For a decade, alt-rock phenom The Boxer Rebellion have been turning heads globally as a band known and admired for not sticking to the rule book.  “This band can alter your life,” said the UK’s NME Magazine, referring to the incredibly epic and ambitious, yet intimate and melodic nature of the band’s musical output. Following a tumultuous time being signed to Universal Records, the band set out on their own following the release of their debut album ‘Exits’ and made history in 2009, on the release of their sophomore album ‘Union’ by becoming the first unsigned band to ever break the Billboard Top 100 albums chart on a digital-only release.  That same album was crowned iTunes’ Alternative Album of the Year, and was followed by a feature film appearance alongside Drew Barrymore, and SNL’s Justin Long, Charlie Day, and Jason Sudeikis in the film ‘Going the Distance’ – widely regarded as the most prominent featured performance of a band in motion picture history.

Mount Moriah
Monday, June 17th
Doors 7pm  Show 8pm
$10 Flat  All Ages

Fiercely contemporary yet rich with classic influences, Mount Moriah's Miracle Temple sports bigger arrangements, louder guitars, bolder vocals, and more soulful rhythms than their acclaimed self-titled debut. Through their artful personal storytelling, the band develops a piercing portrait of a "New South" where progressive traditions are still fitfully breaking free from conservative ones. Mount Moriah's cathartic vision for their home and themselves is writ large in their lovingly critical negotiation with romantic, political, and gender identities; geographical perspective; confrontation and forgiveness. The drive for change, resolute but tinged with regret, is arrestingly captured in the cover image of a burning barn.

SEVENDUST

NINTH STUDIO ALBUM, “BLACK OUT THE SUN,” OUT TODAY;

TOURING CONTINUES WITH LACUNA COIL AND COAL CHAMBER

March 26, 2013 -- As the fans proudly and bombastically chant at the opening of every show, “SEVENDUST has arrived!”  That mantra has even more meaning as it heralds the release of the band’s new album, BLACK OUT THE SUN, now available everywhere.

The Atlanta band (@Sevendust)--Lajon Witherspoon (vocals), Morgan Rose (drums/vocals), Clint Lowery (guitar/vocals), Vince Hornsby (bass/vocals) and John Connolly (guitar/vocals)—released their highly anticipated ninth studio album, BLACK OUT THE SUN, today on their 7Bros. Records in conjunction with ADA Label Services.  The first single, “Decay,” is currently bulleted on the BDS Active Rock Chart at #13 and the Mediabase Active Rock chart at #12.  It has also spent the past four weeks in the #1 spot on SiriusXM’s “Big Uns” countdown on the Octane active rock channel.

Also released today was the video for “Decay,” which makes its debut on FUSE’s website (http://on.fuse.tv/11DDWOY) and it’s also airing on Xbox LIVE.

SEVENDUST continues to prove why they’re the hardest touring band in Rock today as they criss-cross the U.S. on their headlining tour with Lacuna Coil and Candlelight Red through March 27 in El Cajon, CA.  From there, they’ll team up with Coal Chamber for a co-headlining tour starting March 28 in Tempe, AZ at The Marquee and concluding April 28 in Dallas, TX at The Palladium Ballroom.  Starting April 30, the band will play headlining shows joined by such bands as Pop Evil and In This Moment.  Stops at festival shows, including Rock On The Range in Columbus, OH on Sunday, May 19, will be made throughout the on-going headlining tour.

As Drumhead magazine praised:  ““Somehow Sevendust grows stronger with each successive album...BLACK OUT THE SUN sees Sevendust at their most uncompromising, unwavering and undeniable.”  While Outburn magazine agreed:  ““...brooding verses that build up to cavernous choruses and raging, blues based fretwork that reveals the band’s Southern roots...BLACK OUT THE SUN stands as their most polished effort yet.”  And ArtistDIRECT.com concludes:  “Sevendust have made a landmark record in a career of landmark records, but they've still got even more to give.”

Check out SEVENDUST at any of the following stops.  Fans should check their local ticket outlets for purchase info.

OLEANDER
RETURNS WITH FOURTH ALBUM, ‘SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL,’
APRIL 16 ON RE_IGNITE RECORDS VIA KOBALT LABEL SERVICES;

TOUR STARTS APRIL 20, INCLUDING ROCK ON THE RANGE MAY 17

March 26, 2013 -- Even with an 8-year break between projects, OLEANDER never broke up, says bassist Doug Eldridge.   “We said, 'Let's sit back for a while and enjoy life.'"  That they did, and now they’re returning with their fourth album, SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL, due April 16 on RE_IGNITE Records via Kobalt Label Services.  The title track, which is the album’s first single, is now available at digital retail outlets (http://smarturl.it/oleandersb).  Fans can pre-order the album at iTunes starting today as well (http://smarturl.it/oleanderalbum).   “Something Beautiful” will be released to radio on April 8.   A video for the single, which was recently shot in Los Angeles and directed by Daniel Karp, premieres today on Vevo:  http://smarturl.it/oleandersbvid.

There’s a theme and a lyrical connective tissue to SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL.  The result is an album that bridges the gap between modern and alternative rock.   "We are all in the same boat, trying to get from point A to point B, whether we are in traffic or trying to figure out how to pay bills,” says singer Tom Flowers.  “We're fighting for our lives. That's true for a lot of us and for people."  Flowers explains that songs like “Something Beautiful” and "Daylight" "are reflective of our lives today, even on a moment-to-moment basis.  If fans are interested in knowing what we go through, don't look further than the marriage between the music and the lyrics.  We spent a lot of time making sure they balance and complement each other."
The track "Fight!" is currently being featured as the title track of the “WWE '12” video game and is available on iTunes with a version that includes vocals by UFC fighter Urijah Faber.  "I went to Pasadena (CA) to the studio,” explains Eldridge, “recorded my bass parts and we were still hyper analyzing what we had, how to approach from melodic and lyrical perspective.  On the plane ride home, I sat next to Urijah Faber.  It was appropriate.  We started talking about music and I was telling him that we're working on a song and hashing it out."  The music conversation developed into a music business chat.  They kept in contact and, ultimately, Faber hit the studio to appear on the song.
OLEANDER—Tom Flowers (lead vocals), Doug Eldridge (bass), Ric Ivanisevich (guitar), Steve Brown (drums), Rich Mouser (guitar)—first came to prominence in the late ‘90s and early '00s, releasing FEBRUARY SON (1999) and UNWIND (2001), before moving over to Sanctuary for JOYRIDE (2003).  All in all, they’ve sold over 563,500 albums and 157,000 digital songs, including the Top 20 hits “Why I’m Here” and “Are You There?”

Even after their last show in Sacramento in 2005, everyone in the band always felt they would do something together again and they stayed in touch.  Eldridge remembers, "Around 2009 and 2010, Tom had been in another band, doing his thing.  It had been a long time, but we thought, 'Let's play some music. Let's see if it's fun again.'"

As Flowers continues, "We're coming back to this crazy industry, presenting a new record and it's so unattractive to us to consider trying to compete with younger guys, better looking guys, harder rocking guys.  We're just a group of friends that happen to enjoy making music together and have a platform for releasing it.  It's not about the ego."
