Missouri natives Snyder, Jenkins, PBR return to St. Louis
World’s best bull riders, bulls return to Scottrade Center in February

LOUIS – The Professional Bull Riders announced that the world’s best
bull riders and bulls will return to the Scottrade Center on Feb. 15-17
for the St. Louis Invitational presented by Cooper Tires.
Fans
will witness thrilling 8-second rides and jaw-dropping wrecks
throughout the adrenaline-soaked performance as the PBR’s insanely brave
cowboys risk it all against monstrous animal athletes that can weigh as
much as 2,000 pounds.
Bull
riding begins at 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 15, and Saturday, Feb. 16, and
at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 17. Tickets begin at $20 and will go on sale
on Monday, Dec. 10, at the Ford Box Office at Scottrade Center,
Ticketmaster outlets, www.Ticketmaster.com, and by telephone at (800) 745-3000.
Leading
the way into the Show-Me State will be Missouri natives L.J. Jenkins
and Luke Snyder. Jenkins, who was born in Springfield, Mo., finished the
2012 season ranked third in the world, while Snyder was ranked 11th.
The
PBR will celebrate 20 years of competition with the 2013 season. More
than 100 million viewers watch primetime PBR programming annually on
networks around the world and nearly two million fans attend PBR events
each year. PBR has awarded over $120 million dollars in prize money over
20 years of competition, including a $1 million dollar bonus to the PBR
World Champion each year.
Each
of the Top 35 riders in the world will ride on Friday, Saturday, and
Sunday. Following Round 3 on Sunday, the riders with the 10 highest
cumulative scores will advance to the Built Ford Tough Championship
Round where they will compete with one more bull. The overall event
winner will be the rider with the highest combined score from all four
rounds.
St.
Louis will be the seventh stop on the 2013 BFTS schedule, which will
open at world-famous Madison Square Garden in New York on Jan. 4-6. The
season will conclude Oct. 23-27 in Las Vegas with the PBR Built Ford
Tough World Finals, where the PBR World Champion will be crowned and
awarded a $1 million bonus. The richest bull riding event in the world, the World Finals has a total purse of more than $2 million.
The
BFTS is televised every week on CBS, CBS Sports Network and networks
around the world. BFTS telecasts are produced for the PBR under a
multi-year agreement with David Neal Productions, a Los Angeles-based
production company led by 34-time Emmy® Award winner and Peabody Award
winner David Neal, who serves as executive producer.
