Beyoncé Inks With Pepsi
-- Pop icon Beyoncé has signed a deal
with Pepsi for a $50 million dollar marketing partnership and creative
partnership that will see the beverage maker getting into the Beyoncé
business.
According to the New York Times, the multi-year deal will
see the standard print and commercial advertising linking Beyoncé to
Pepsi brands, but will also include a multi-million dollar fund to
underwrite Beyoncé's creative projects.
The upcoming ad campaign will include a new television
ad, appearances on new, limited edition Pepsi cans and a huge
promotional effort for the singer's forthcoming and yet-unnamed 2013
album. All of this will take place sometime after Beyoncé's appearance
in the Super Bowl on Feb. 3rd, a performance that Pepsi, unsurprisingly,
will sponsor.
“Pepsi embraces creativity and understands that
artists evolve,” Beyoncé said in a statement. “As a businesswoman, this
allows me to work with a lifestyle brand with no compromise and without
sacrificing my creativity.”
This isn't the first time Beyoncé and
Pepsi have partnered and the singer has appeared in five different
television spots for the soft drink since 2002. -
