Now time to announce a bunch of shows!
Shawn Mullins
The Listening Room Series
Wednesday, February 22nd
Doors 7pm Show 8pm
$30 Reserved $20 General Admission
All Ages
Since we last heard from Shawn Mullins on 2008’s honeydew, the Atlanta-based singer/songwriter and bandleader has undergone a series of transformative experiences, leading to a second coming for the veteran artist. Evidence of Mullins’ newfound level of musical and lyrical ambition courses comes through with Light You Up (Vanguard Records, Oct. 12). This captivating new song cycle will likely be viewed as a flat-out revelation even by Mullins’ most fervent fans. His experiences included an indoctrination into the collaborative creative process by numerous bouts of intensive co-writing, in one instance putting him atop of the country charts via a key contribution to the Zac Brown Band’s “Toes,” marking his third #1 single, following 1999’s “Lullaby” and the 2006 Triple A/Americana chart-topper “Beautiful Wreck.” Further co-writing yielded nine of the 11 songs on the new album, which Mullins believes represents the strongest, most expressive writing of his distinguished career. All of this creative activity was topped off by the birth of Shawn’s first child, Murphy, in August of 2009.
Ruthie Foster & Paul Thorn
Soul Salvation Tour
Thursday, March 29th
Doors 7pm Show 8pm
$20 Advance $23 Day of Show
All Ages
Ruthie Foster and Paul Thorn have taken their careers to new heights with their most recent releases: Ruthie’s new, deeply intimate recording ‘Let It Burn’ and Paul’s June 2010 release, ‘Pimps & Preachers.’ But it is their live shows that have really established Ruthie and Paul as two of America’s freshest and finest performers. Perhaps it’s the shared experience of the lively church music of their youth that has made them such compelling entertainers. Ruthie sang in church as a child and Paul was raised the son of a Pentacostal preacher. Whatever the reason, their songs of humanity and redemption have earned them enthusiastic fans and high praise from press, promoters and fans alike.
Tyrone Wells
The Listening Room Series
w/ Joe Brooks
Wednesday, May 16th
Doors 7pm Show 8pm

“Where We Meet” has captured both the charm of Tyrone Wells wistful serenades and the weight and yearning of an artist who continues to grow. Spending the greater part of 2011 bouncing between Los Angeles and Nashville, Tyrone Wells was able to take the time to write tirelessly until he knew that he finally had the album he wanted. From sweeping productions to paired down, sparse tunes, “Where We Meet” carefully navigates a sonic landscape that is powerfully rich yet intimate and honest.
