The new music video for the title track lead single debuts today on Vevo + syndicators. Directed by James King and filmed in Nashville, the story features Trent and an ex-love as she leaves the relationship to pursue her dreams of becoming a professional ballet dancer. The concept was inspired by Trent’s real-life circumstance, reflecting on the desire to support his partner while also feeling helpless in the situation. Watch the scenes unfold here https://TrentHarmon.lnk.to/YGEAvideoPR.

“I wrote this song in under an hour with Justin (Ebach) and Jordan (Minton),” expressed Trent. “My girlfriend just told me over the phone that she was moving to Thailand with two days notice to fulfill her dream of teaching overseas. I was so happy for her but at the same time was so heartbroken that she was literally going to be across the world from me for an indefinite amount of time.”

While the couple is physically apart, they each find solace in supporting each other’s journey. The reigning American Idol champ will share music from his first full-length release on his headline dates throughout the summer in addition to select shows on tour with Country superstars Rascal Flatts. “It is surreal that this moment is almost here,” said Trent. “My album is two years in the making, and it was worth every minute. I’m grateful to have taken the time to write songs, which was never something I had never done before. The fact that I have been able to make this album so personal is very special to me.’

As the reigning American Idol, Trent also spoke about his experience on the show and offered advice on how to navigate the pressures of competition.

“The hardest part of the show is not knowing what comes next,” expressed Trent. “You just go out there and perform the best you can, but it is hard to prepare when you don’t know what lies ahead. It is so exciting but also nerve wracking.”

Nashville, TN (June 20, 2016) – Since taking the title of American Idol during the final season, TRENT HARMON hit the ground running and will showcase his efforts Friday, June 24 on FOX & Friends. The Country crooner will perform his new single “There’s A Girl” on the outdoor stage for the All-American Summer Concert Series in New York City, headlining a FREE concert for eager fans. The set will include more of the fresh sounds he’s teased online through Facebook live.

Trent co-wrote “There’s A Girl" with Jimmy Robbins (Tim McGraw, Florida Georgia Line, Blake Shelton) and Laura Veltz (Reba McEntire, Eli Young Band, Cassadee Pope). The lyrics elaborate on all that a guy will do for love: “Why would we ask when we know we can't dance / Show our hands and change our plans / Lose our minds, break our hearts / And learn to play guitar / Why does any man do anything in the whole damn world / ‘Cause there's a girl.”
