Toby Keith commands Verizon Wireless Amphitheater

By Scott Kiefer
Country music superstar Toby Keith brought his "Locked and Loaded" tour to Verizon Wireless Amphitheater St. Louis last night where he left the audience wanting more, as he usually does.
His set, filled with hit after hit, also included a surprise version of LaBelle's "Lady Marmalade," which showcased his band, Easy Money. Always known for garnering one of the best touring bands on the road today, the ensemble last night seemed even better, if that could be.
The highlight of Keith's show is always "Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue," and " American Soldier," and this show was no different. However, the entire set was filled with favorites, like "How Do You Like Me Now," and "Who's Your Daddy."
Keith's set included pyro, video and all the special effects his tours have been famous for in the past years, to the delight of his audience, from beginning to end.
Fast-rising star Eric Church made his second appearance at VWA this year, opening for Keith. Earlier, in the spring, Church opened for Jason Aldean, garnering many fans who were happy to see him return now.
Church proved that he can command an audience and get them riled up for the headliner, which no doubt, he is destined to do in a short time to come.
Crowd favorites from Church included his recent hit "Home Boy," and "Smoke A Little Smoke."

The Band Perry Goes Gold

THE BAND PERRY DEBUT ALBUM IS GOLD – 500,000 COPIES SOLD
New Single, “You Lie,” is TBP’s Fastest-Climbing To Date
New Video To Debut In Late February

Nashville, Tennessee (February 15, 2011) – The Band Perry’s debut album, The Band Perry, on Republic Nashville has achieved Gold certification from the RIAA for sales exceeding 500,000. Released in October 2010, the album and continues to hold steady at #7 on the Billboard Country Albums Chart and #37 on the overall Billboard Top 200.
“Having a Gold record is a tremendous accomplishment and to achieve that status in just under four months is even more amazing,” said Nashville RepublicPresident, Jimmy Harnen. “This award is yet another wonderful accolade in a spectacular year for The Band Perry.”
The trio’s break-through continues as their third single, “You Lie,” is now their fastest chart-climber to date. Already Top 25 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs Chart, the new video is expected to premiere at the end of February (details to be announced soon). Fans can expect a new range of emotions from the family band – “You Lie” is a Country anthem of a woman scorned, and in this case, the cheater in question isn’t just answering to Kimberly but to brothers Reid and Neil as well.

Previously, The Band Perry charted a Top 20 single with “Hip To My Heart,” which was accompanied by an energetic video that introduced the band to Country fans. They followed up with the reserved and reflective video for their #1 hit, “If I Die Young,” which touched fans deeply and has been viewed 17 million times on You Tube.

ABOUT THE BAND PERRY: Kimberly, Reid and Neil Perry are a trio of siblings raised on Country, Rock and Soul - influences that they blend together as seamlessly as the rare magic of their family three-part harmonies. In April 2010, The Band Perry’s first single, "Hip To My Heart" brokeinto the Top 20 at Country Radio and was followed by "If I Die Young," which became a #1 hit and is now a Platinum-certified single.

The Band Perry's self-titled album, THE BAND PERRY, was released in October 2010 anddebuted at #2 (Country) and #4 (Billboard Top 200). As fans have embraced the family band, so too have their industry peers - TBP garnered a Grammy nomination for Best Country Song, four ACM nominations for Top Vocal Group, Top New Vocal Duo or Group, Single Record of the Year and Song of the Year for "If I Die Young;" a CMA nomination for Vocal Group of the Year; three American Country Award nominations for New/Breakthrough Artist of the Year, Duo/Group of the Year, Video by New/Breakthrough Artist as well as an invitation by the American Music Awards to attend as presenters. They have toured recently with the legendary Alan Jackson and will join TimMcGraw’s Emotional Traffic tour (April – Aug) and Keith Urban in September.
The Band Perry will appear with McGraw on May 21 at Verizon Wireless Ampthitheatre at St. Loiuis. For show and ticket information, log on to www.livenation.com.
