Experience the magic and music on December 20, 2016, with the next installment of the film that is based on the inspiring true story of living legend Dolly Parton's remarkable upbringing in rural Tennessee. The family-oriented, faith-based movie stars Jennifer Nettles (Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter and actress), Ricky Schroder (Golden Globe® Award-winner for The Champ, NYPD Blue), Alyvia Alyn Lind (Blended), Kelli Berglund (Lab Rats), Mary Lane Haskell (Coat of Many Colors), Cameron Jones (Shortland Street), Stella Parton (Green Corn), Hannah Nordberg (American Pastoral), Farrah MacKenzie, Parker Sack, Forrest Deal, Dylan Michael Rowen, Blane Crockarell and Gerald McRaney (Major Dad). DOLLY PARTON SIGNS DEVELOPMENT DEAL WITH NBC

Network to Develop Slate of Two-Hour Movies With Legendary Country Icon as Producer

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - - NBC has signed a development deal with Dolly Parton, one of the most honored female country musicians of all time and an American icon.

"I am so excited to be involved with my friend Bob Greenblatt, who produced the Broadway version of '9 to 5: The Musical' with me, and my longtime friend and former agent Sam Haskell. We want to create projects for NBC that are both fun and inspirational with a family audience in mind," said Dolly Parton.

In conjunction with production partner Sam Haskell of Magnolia Hill Entertainment and Warner Bros. Television, NBC will develop a slate of two-hour TV movies based on the songs, stories, and inspiring life of Dolly Parton. This extraordinarily prolific country music artist and movie star will produce these projects that are meant to appeal to an inclusive family audience.

"I don't know anyone in the world who doesn't love Dolly Parton, and the idea of developing television movies inspired by her incredible life and the stories she has sung about for decades is exciting to all of us at NBC," said Robert Greenblatt, Chairman, NBC Entertainment." I hope we will create some uplifting movies that the entire family can enjoy together, a genre of programming that still seems largely untapped on television."

Added Jennifer Salke, President, NBC Entertainment: "We all feel so lucky to be in business with Dolly. We're so excited about working with her to infuse these movies with her incredible work ethic and that genuine hopefulness and positive outlook that has been her trademark for years. And you can bet there will be a lot of her music in them too."

Over the past 40 years, Parton has 41 albums that have reached the top 10 in the country charts - the most for any artist - as well as 25 albums have either been certified gold, platinum or multi-platinum. In addition, 110 singles have reached the country charts. She has won 10 Grammy Awards, 10 Country Music Assn. Awards and 7 Academy of Country Music Awards. In fact, Parton has been nominated for 46 Grammys as both she and Beyonce are the most Grammy-nominated women of all time.

She was twice nominated for an Oscar for her original songs "9 to 5" and "Travelin' Thru," for the film "Transamerica." As an actress, Parton was nominated for three Golden Globes (two for "9 to 5," one for "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas") and won two People's Choice Awards.

Global superstar KATY PERRY will headline the PEPSI SUPER BOWL XLIX HALFTIME SHOW on NBC in University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona on Sunday, February 1, 2015, it was confirmed tonight in an unprecedented multi-media, global announcement.
Katy acknowledged the performance on Twitter while watching the Dallas Cowboys – New York Giants game in Australia where she is currently on her Prismatic World Tour.  Bob Costas announced the performance to the television audience at halftime of the Cowboys-Giants game on Sunday Night Football, primetime TV's #1 show. This triggered the launch of an original digital video featuring Katy produced by Pepsi.  Later in the night, Pepsi's acclaimed commercial "There Since The First #Halftime" re-released to Katy's award-winning song "Firework" debuted during the telecast.
The Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show is the most-watched musical event of the year. More than 115 million viewers in the U.S. watched last year's show.  The Super Bowl and halftime show will be broadcast worldwide.

"Roar," the lead single from PRISM became Katy's 10th No. 1 Top 40 track after debuting at No. 1 on iTunes in 68 countries with 557,024 downloads in its first week of release, the biggest digital song sales week of 2013. Katy set the record at Top 40 for most total weeks (46) at No. 1 in the Billboard airplay chart's archives with "Dark Horse," and Mediabase has just recognized the song as #1 Most Played, in addition to awarding Katy the title of #1 Artist across three radio formats - Top 40, Hot AC and AC. She is the first artist to surpass the 75 million digital award threshold, counting digital downloads and on-demand streams – 20 million ahead of any other artist. She is currently touring the world on the Prismatic World Tour, which continues to be a hugely successful global spectacle, with 17 sold out arenas in the UK, 66 sold out arenas in North America and 25 sold out arenas in Australia/New Zealand during this year. The tour continues in 2015 throughout Europe, Asia and South America where Katy will headline Rock In Rio in Brazil on September 25.

PepsiCo continues to leverage its diverse multi-brand portfolio – including Pepsi, Frito-Lay, Gatorade, Quaker and Tropicana - with the NFL to connect with fans and enhance their NFL experience. Pepsi returns for a third year as the title sponsor of the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show, bringing the brand's Live for Now mind-set and one-of-a-kind consumer engagement platforms to provide fans a halftime experience worthy of pop-culture's biggest stage. This year, Pepsi continues its steadfast focus on the fan with its "Hyped For Halftime" campaign, which will culminate at the Super Bowl.

Christopher Walken To Play Captain Hook In NBC's Live Production Of 'Peter Pan'

Despite Walken's long history of notable dramatic roles, NBC president Robert Greenblatt said Sunday that "he might really just be a song-and-dance man at heart," citing several musical performances in Walken's long career.

"I can guarantee he's going to bring his own spin to Captain Hook," Greenblatt said at the Television Critics Association press tour in Los Angeles on Sunday. "This might be the first tap-dancing Captain Hook you've ever seen."
"Peter Pan" was commissioned in the wake of NBC's huge success with "The Sound of Music Live" starring Carrie Underwood, which got huge numbers and generated a lot of Twitter traffic last December. Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, the masterminds of "The Sound of Music Live," will also produce "Peter Pan," which has not cast its lead yet. Greenblatt joked earlier in the year that he wanted Miley Cyrus for the role. Wait, was he joking?
