Two of the biggest bands in heavy metal – Megadeth and LAMB OF GOD – will be joining forces on a co-headline tour across North America this year, presented by SiriusXM. And to add to the firepower of this already formidable tour, Trivium and In Flames are joining, making this THE must-see heavy music package of the year. Tickets will go on general sale Friday, February 14 from livenation.com

Megadeth, fueled by Dave Mustaine’s triumphant return to the stage following his diagnosis and recovery of throat cancer, will embark on their first North American tour since 2017. Speaking on the epic announcement, Megadeth’s leader and frontman, Dave Mustaine says, "Hello me! I’m back again, better than ever and coming to a town near you with Lamb of God, Trivium and In Flames. If you want high octane metal madness this is the tour for you."

LAMB OF GOD released their first new music in five years last week with the single “Checkmate.” The track is the first to be released from the band’s self-titled eighth studio album, due out May 8, which is one of the most anticipated and important metal records of the year. Commenting on their upcoming co-headline run, Mark Morton, lead guitarist of LAMB OF GOD, adds, “The world has never needed heavy more than it does today and top to bottom, this tour delivers! LAMB OF GOD has toured with and been friends with all of these bands for years, but for all of us to be on the same bill is something extra special. Come early and stay late. This is THE metal tour of the year.”

Trivium’s Matt Heafy adds, “We are happy to be a part of the biggest real metal tour of the year. This tour is the main event and represents heavy metal and the culture that goes with it.“

With In Flames singer, Anders Fridén stating, “We were honored to be asked to join this package. We were actually supposed to take this summer off, but of course we couldn’t say no. After playing shows with all of these guys for years, 2020 is going to feel like a kick ass reunion. See you on the road, Jesterheads!”

Produced by Live Nation, this epic 55-city tour will stretch across summer and fall, kicking off June 12 in Bristow, VA, and hit every region of the U.S. before wrapping November 13 in Reno, NV. Multiple Canadian shows are scheduled as well. See full itinerary below.

It was over 30 years ago that Dave Mustaine founded Megadeth, in the process pioneering the sound that would become known the world over as thrash metal. And from the very beginning, the band proved to be the most lethal and audacious unit on the heavy music scene, pushing thrash to the limits of musical ferocity and instrumental virtuosity on early efforts like their 1985 debut, Killing Is My Business…And Business Is Good! and 1986’s seminal Peace Sells…But Who’s Buying?.

Megadeth have taken their place as one of metal’s most influential and respected acts—not to mention among its most successful. They have gone on to sell more than 38 million albums worldwide, earning numerous accolades including a 2017 GRAMMY® Award for “Best Metal Performance” for the title track “Dystopia,” 12 GRAMMY® nominations, and scoring five consecutive platinum albums. With sheer determination and a relentless recording and touring schedule, MEGADETH worked their way up from headlining clubs to headlining arenas, festival and stadiums, cementing a legacy that continues to grow and spread throughout the world. Megadeth are slated to release their 16th studio album later this year.
LAMB OF GOD propelled heavy metal into the new millennium two decades ago with the prophetically titled New American Gospel. They followed with 2003’s As the Palaces Burn, which made the Rolling Stone list of the Top 100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time. Ashes of the Wake, released in 2004, was the first LAMB OF GOD album to be certified gold by the RIAA, as was 2006’s Sacrament, which also made a Top 10 Billboard 200 chart debut. In 2009, LAMB OF GOD released Wrath, their first with Wilbur at producer, and earned the number one album spot on Billboard’s Hard Rock, Rock, and Tastemaker charts, with a number two position on the Billboard 200.

Those number one positions were repeated with 2012’s Resolution, which swung effortlessly between thrash, traditional metal, sludgy doom, with flashes of crust punk swagger and bravado. LAMB OF GOD’s last album, VII: Sturm und Drang (2015) made its debut on the Billboard 200 at number three and finished number 2 in the world charts, reaching Top 5 in five countries and six addition Top 15 positions.

In 2020, LAMB OF GOD is re-energized and unrelenting, ready to lay claim to the metal throne.

Tickets for this gargantuan tour package are bound to fly out when they go on sale on Friday, February 14. Grab yours before they’re all gone.

ABOUT LAMB OF GOD:
Richmond, VA natives LAMB OF GOD are one of heavy music's most successful and uncompromising bands.  When the band's first major release, New American Gospel, was released in 2000 it was immediately touted as a classic within the genre. AllMusic stated it best, "The essential signatures of post-Pantera metal are in abundance on Lamb of God's inaugural album. New American Gospel provides a mighty oak upon which gritty American metal's faith is maintained, effectively bridging the '90s' insistence upon drill-sergeant technicality and the old school's determined focus on riff construction."

Some predicted a sophomore slump - that no band could top a debut album so strong.  They were proven wrong, with the release of 2004's Ashes of the Wake, an album that not only exploded stateside (certified Gold by RIAA) but also saw the spread of LAMB OF GODto all corners of the world.  The band's first DVD, Killadelphia, followed shortly after and was certified Platinum.  Then, with Sacrament (Album, 2006, #8 debut on the US Billboard Hot 200), LAMB OF GOD were honored with a Grammy nomination for the track "Redneck", which would be the first of five Grammy nominations for the band to date. Next came Walk With Me In Hell (DVD, 2008) and then the band's fourth album Wrath in 2009, which debuted at #2 on the Billboard Hot 200 Chart, and then Resolution, which debuted at #3. Shortly after the release of Resolution, vocalist Randy Blythe was arrested in Prague, and spent 30 days in jail on a charge for which he was later acquitted (and lead to Blythe's bestselling memoir, Dark Days, as well as the film As The Palaces Burn).  After regrouping,LAMB OF GOD lost no ground with their latest full-length album, VII: Sturm Und Drang, the album was #3 in the US, #1 in Canada, #2 in Australia, #3 in Finland, #7 in UK, #12 in Germany and #13 in Japan, and #13 in Netherlands. "Overlord", the first single from VII: Sturm Und Drang, achieved a new milestone for the band when it reached the Top Thirty of US Active Rock Radio Chart (Mediabase).  In late 2016, LAMB OF GOD paid tribute to late, longtime fan and friend Wayne Ford with the release of The Duke EP, which raised funds and awareness for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The EP release coincided with a charity campaign offering personal items such as Blythe's Ashes Of The Wake Gold plaque, signed signature model guitars, handwritten lyrics and more.

Since inception and through it all, LAMB OF GOD's consistent and unwavering commitment to their music - and their fans - has kept them a critical and fan favorite worldwide, selling millions of albums and tickets around the world.

LAMB OF GOD is Randy Blythe (vocals), Mark Morton (guitar), Willie Adler (guitar), John Campbell (bass), and Chris Adler (drums).

“Although there’s plenty of LAMB OF GOD’s trademark guitar chug and Olympics-level drumming, the eerier moments (see the jailhouse tale “512”) and unexpected guests (including members of Deftones and the Dillinger Escape Plan) show a group that’s thirsty to evolve beyond its own established patterns.” – Kory Grow, Rolling Stone

“"VII: Sturm und Drang", for all of its polish and bows to melody, is one of the fiercest albums they've ever laid down… This album is a full-on purge and if you can relate, "VII: Sturm und Drang" will get you off in more ways than one.” – Ray Van Horn Jr., Blabbermouth.net

LAMB OF GOD's return with VII: Sturm und Drang [Epic Records] is a flawless fire and brimstone blast. This is heavy music forged in flames of raw emotion and experience in the most unbridled manner. The group… carve out a rapturously heavy and unsettlingly hypnotic space that's easy to fall into. This is the band's most simultaneously atomic and atmospheric body of work to date.” – Rick Florino, ArtistDirect.com

“From the brooding dynamics of Overlord and Embers to the more expected savagery of Erase This and Delusion Pandemic, LAMB OF GOD sound more focused than ever here, and thoroughly deserving of their status as one of metal’s biggest bands.” – Dom Lawson, The Guardian

“The band's newest work finds them continuing to find the fine balance between sinister thrash and metallic catchiness on standout tracks like "Overlord" and "Erase This”.” – Jason Roche, OC Weekly

“…another solid addition to the LAMB OF GOD catalogue.” - Bradley Zorgdrager, Exclaim! Magazine

Recently, LAMB OF GOD released their official music videos for “Overlord” and “512”, both directed by Jorge Torres-Torres. Watch both videos here: “512” | “Overlord”

VII: Sturm Und Drang is once again produced and mixed by Josh Wilbur with engineering by Wilbur, Nick Rowe, and Kyle McAulay, and was recorded at NRG Recording Studios in North Hollywood, CA and Suburban Soul Studios in Torrance, CA. LAMB OF GOD’s last album, the 2012 Grammy-nominated Resolution, debuted at #3 on the US Billboard Top 200, #1 on the US Top Hard Rock and Rock Album charts, #2 on the Canadian albums chart, and #3 on the Australian albums chart.

ABOUT LAMB OF GOD:
Richmond, VA natives LAMB OF GOD originally formed in 1994 as Burn The Priest while in college together at Virginia Commonwealth University, initially performing in meagre venues and hocking rough demos amongst the local scene. In 1998, the band changed their moniker to LAMB OF GOD, which would mark their impending ascension to top-tier status, as well as one of the only tangible career deviations that the band would ever undertake – having consistently released chart-topper after chart-topper while maintaining a true and constant line-up of members and increasingly growing fanbase; a rarity in modern music. The band’s first major release, 2000’s New American Gospel, was immediately touted as an instant metal classic. AllMusic stated it best, “The essential signatures of post-Pantera metal are in abundance on Lamb of God's inaugural album. New American Gospel provides a mighty oak upon which gritty American metal's faith is maintained, effectively bridging the '90s' insistence upon drill-sergeant technicality and the old school's determined focus on riff construction.”

In 2007, just a short time after putting out monumentally successful releases Ashes of the Wake (Album, 2004, #27 of 200 debut), Killadelphia (DVD, 2004, RIAA Platinum), and Sacrament (Album, 2006, #8 of 200 debut), LAMB OF GOD was honored with a Grammy nomination for the track “Redneck”. This would mark the first of four Grammy nominations for the band. After the release of Walk With Me In Hell (DVD, 2008), the second and third Grammy nominations came in 2010 and 2011 for tracks “Set to Fail” and “In Your Words”, both cut from Wrath (CD, 2009, #2 of 200 debut). The fourth nomination arrived for the band’s track “Ghost Walking”, cut from their 2012 album Resolution (CD, #3 of 200 debut). Now, on the cusp of releasing their seventh full-length album VII: Sturm Und Drang, the five-piece is poised to prove their lasting consistency by offering another blistering contribution of the highest quality heavy metal – a record that no one other than LAMB OF GOD could truly execute.

Having amassed the globe with countless world tours and millions of albums sold, all-the-while overcoming countless hurdles ranging from personal demons to vocalist Randy Blythe’s 2013 trial in Prague (which resulted in the acclaimed 2014 full-length feature documentary, As The Palaces Burn, and upcoming book, Dark Days: A Memoir, authored by the frontman and releasing in July), LAMB OF GOD stands the test of time as the biggest, most influential heavy metal band of the new millennium.

LAMB OF GOD is:
Randy Blythe - vocals
Mark Morton - guitar
Willie Adler - guitar
John Campbell - bass
Chris Adler – drums
