GRAMMY Award winning Vincent premieres an all new song co-written by Grand Ole Opry star Jeannie Seely

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Rhonda Vincent, affectionately known as the Queen of Bluegrass, premiered her brand new single "Like I Could" onstage at the Grand Ole Opry on Wednesday, June 19. Co-written by Grand Ole Opry country music star Jeannie Seely, along with Erin Enderlin and Bobby Tomberlin, Vincent's bluegrass interpretation of the country song is a beautifully composed, string-driven melody, which highlights her soaring vocal abilities. The song also made it's online premiere at the Bluegrass Situation. "As soon as Jeannie Seely started singing ‘Like I Could’ to me, I instantly loved it. It felt like it was written just for me and my vocal style. As we were recording the tracks, it just felt right. You know when you can feel that something is just right for you; like trying on that perfect dress, or pair of shoes. This song was just the right fit." There wasn’t a song search, or a target recording date for the song. Frankly, the entire process was a continuous chain reaction of spontaneous events. Vincent discovered the song while riding in a limousine with Jeannie Seely, who was sharing her fear of co-writing by appointment, and how she finally faced her fear with the writing of the song. At the encouragement of fellow Opry member Bill Anderson, Seely wrote the song with Erin Enderlin and Bobby Tomberlin. Seely sang her new song as the limo rolled along, and Rhonda instantly loved it and told Jeannie she wanted to record it. Jeannie, in total amazement, later texted Rhonda to ask if she really wanted to record it, or was it merely an impulse reaction. Rhonda really loved it and could not wait to record it. “I feel that many people will relate to this song and its tremendous heartbreak and sadness," said Vincent. "My hope is that there are people who hear this song, namely those in the midst of the devastation of a breakup, who will reconnect and renew their love with each other. It has a very desperate message, asking, ‘What happened, I thought you could see us together forever?’ Maybe this is the perfect song and question they need to hear to bring them back together.” About Rhonda Vincent: Rhonda Vincent was born in Greentop, Missouri, where she grew up performing in her family band, The Sally Mountain Show, featuring country and bluegrass music. NASHVILLE, TN. - (June 21, 2019) – Country music royalty and soon to be fifty-two year member of the Grand Ole Opry, Jeannie Seely, was honored and recognized for her contributions to the entertainment industry by the Donelson-Hermitage Chamber of Commerce Women in Business. Acknowledged and congratulated by Country Music icon and her friend, Willie Nelson, The Standing Ovation Awardwas presented to Ms. Seely by Gus Arrendale at the inaugural Influencing Women Awards Gala, It’s a Ball Y’all.

Jeannie Seely has created influence and significance in the entertainment industry and has shown the advocacy of other women in her field by mentoring and supporting them in their professional success. She generously shares her time, advocating for her community and various organizations. This year's recipient embodies the spirit of the award, which will now be named after her.

“As the committee was determining the categories for our awards, it was unanimously agreed that this particular award should only be presented to one person, Jeannie Seely,” stated Executive Director - Donelson-Hermitage Chamber of Commerce; Terri Williams Nutter. “She exemplifies all the traits, and embodies the spirit of the award, which will now be named after her.”

Jeannie Seely has blazed a trail for others to follow throughout her musical career. From her first singing appearances on a local Pennsylvania radio station at the young age of eleven to her over fifty years as a member of the Grand Ole Opry, Jeannie has consistently paved the way for female artists. She was the first female to host a Grand Ole Opry half-hour segment, as well as the first to wear a mini-skirt on the Opry stage. Nicknamed "Miss Country Soul", Jeannie possesses a beautiful voice and infamous sense of humor.

"Jeannie embodies everything it means to be a powerful woman in the music industry. She has remained classy -poised-and relevant to decades and continues to inspire generations of females to this industry including myself," said Carly Pearce. “Her talent and class have allowed Jeannie to sustain her career over six decades. A Grammy award winning artist, Jeannie continues to write and record. Her latest album, which includes collaborations with Bill Anderson, Vince Gill, Lorrie Morgan, Willie Nelson and more, is tentatively set to release this fall. She regularly hosts and performs on the Grand Ole Opry and is an on air personality and host on Sirius XM’s “Willie’s Roadhouse.”

Not only is Jeannie an admired artist, she is also a community advocate. She has served on the Board of Directors for both the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists and the Donelson-Hermitage Chamber of Commerce and as a longtime spokesperson for the Humane Society.  She is also actively involved in the Opry Trust Fund which provides financial assistance to those in need in the country music industry. She is a resident of Donelson and active community member.

The Donelson-Hermitage Chamber of Commerce Women in Business Committee held the  inaugural Influencing Women Awards Gala, It’s a Ball Y’all, presented by Springer Mountain Farms in Studio A at the Grand Ole Opry. Opry Legend Jeannie Seely makes trek for homecoming concert in Pennsylvania     NASHVILLE, Tenn. September 4, 2015 – The last time that country music legend Jeannie Seely visited the Crawford County Fair was on August 28, 1992 when she received several special honors in recognition of her 25th anniversary as a member of the world-famous Grand Ole Opry. When she returned to Crawford County last week it was to play a show that celebrates the Opry’s 90th birthday. Her stage set up included a replica of the famous wooden circle in the center of the stage, as well as the iconic Opry microphone stand. She led the audience in singing “Happy Birthday” to the Opry, along with the traditional Opry classic “Will the Circle Be Unbroken.”   [ VIDEO ] It’s fitting that Seely be the one to celebrate the Opry’s birthday with Crawford County folks since she has a history with the fair that goes all the way back to her childhood. “I’ll always remember my excitement as a kid surrounding the fair,” Seely notes. “Growing up we raised strawberries on our little farm outside of Townville, and a lot of the kids in the area picked strawberries to earn money to go to the fair…so the excitement had quite a while to build!” “Of course so many families had made or raised things they were entering in the competitions, and that was something else to look forward to,” she adds. “That’s also where I learned that motion sickness did not just happen in the backseat of the car...it could occur on amusement rides too!” Seely chuckles when she recalls, “I also learned that you CAN eat too much corn on the cob and too much cotton candy! But most of all for me, any kind of musical entertainment at the fair was a thrill. It’s kind of amazing now that I get to be that entertainment!” Crawford County folks were thrilled to welcome home their resident Opry legend. Seely’s show drew the biggest crowd at the Fair. Crawford County Fair Board Director Diana Perry stated, “We are very pleased that Jeannie Seely was so willing to work with us at the Crawford County Fair. Her hometown crowd filled the grandstand and were so pleased she could find time in her tight schedule to make it back home to perform for them.” One fairgoer wrote on Seely’s Facebook page, “I really enjoyed your fantastic show at the Crawford County Fair in Meadville, Pennsylvania. I love your singing and listen to it all the time. It was so great to meet you before the show. I felt honored to shake your hand and chat with you for a minute before your great performance. Thank you for coming home to perform!” The excitement about the show was mutual as Seely said “I just can’t thank everyone enough. I was so honored when I was invited to perform at the Crawford County Fair this year and had been looking forward to going home! However, nothing could have prepared me for the wonderful welcome I received! So many came out in rather inclement weather to see me and even stood in line after the show for a meet and greet, including a 92 year old man who has not seen me since I was a small child! Everyone told me how proud they were of me, but there is no way they could be as proud as I am to be their kin, classmate, and neighbor! I realize now more than ever how fortunate we all were to grow up in that area…and in that era! Jeannie Seely is in the sixth decade of her entertainment career that began when she was 11 years old singing on a WMGW morning radio show. She has had success as an actress, author, songwriter, and singer, but mostly she is known as being an amazing entertainer. She was first to wear a mini-skirt on the Grand Ole Opry stage and has always been known as an individualist. She’s been credited with changing the image of female country performers, and her infectious humor has always been one of her trademarks. She has been a member of the Grand Old Opry since 1967 and is thrilled to be hosting and performing at the Opry on any given weekend that she is in town.
