Alice Cooper Runs For U.S. President "A Troubled Man For Troubled Times"

ALICE COOPER ANNOUNCES HIS PLATFORM ON CNN - THE WHOLE WORLD'S GOING CRAZY! LOOKING FOR A BETTER CANDIDATE? A BETTER PLATFORM? LOOK NO FURTHER - GET ALICE COOPER 'ELECTED'

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 22, 2016 -- ALICE COOPER ANNOUNCES HIS PLATFORM ON CNN - WATCH
Alice Cooper is tired of the rhetoric - the mudslinging – the media frenzy.  Keeping his snake in his cage and the guillotine in storage, he is putting people before career.  Alice Cooper wants to be "Elected."
His classic 1972 hit is once again an anthem for modern times and when it all boils down to it – a long flowing mane of (real) hair beats Bernie/The Donald/Hillary styles hands down.   And he's released a new single of "Elected" for this campaign, available here at iTunes, Spotify and other online sites.
But it's not all about debonair good looks and long flowing locks -- Alice Cooper has a platform that every voter can get behind. He is asking his fellow Americans, and all those around the world who are disillusioned with their leaders, to join "The Wild Party."
Alice Cooper has spent countless nights on the road; many troubled hours worrying about the course of our great nations. Not afraid of controversy or springing into action, Alice Cooper plans to channel every ounce of energy (including his Alice Cooper and Hollywood Vampire campaign appearances/concerts (click on the links for his schedule), his syndicated radio show "Nights With Alice Cooper," and his daily round of golf, of course) towards solving the world's problems. He is tackling the everyday concerns discussed among his fellow woman and man - the ordinary, decent hard working (and rocking) people he meets and entertains every day while performing nearly 100 concerts a year around the world.
So, if you're looking for a candidate with a platform that matters, vote Alice Cooper, the man with the plan to tackle the hot button, contentious and provocative issues on the minds of the real America and Britain:
  1. Getting Brian Johnson back in AC/DC
  2. A snake in every pot
  3. No more pencils, no more books
  4. Adding Lemmy to Mt Rushmore
  5. Rename Big Ben "Big Lemmy"
  6. Groucho Marx on the $50 bill
  7. Peter Sellers on the £20 note
  8. Cupholders required for every airplane seat
  9. Ban on talking during movies in movie theatres
  10. Ban on taking selfies, except on a designated National Selfie Day
These "troubled times" call for a "troubled mind" indeed.  These "troubled times" call for Alice Cooper.
Said Alice, "Why NOT me? I have t shirts to sell." Yes, there's campaign merchandise available here!

More about Alice Cooper, the man, the myth, the legend:
Alice Cooper pioneered a grandly theatrical brand of hard rock drawing equally from horror movies, vaudeville, and garage rock. With his influence on rock & roll long since acknowledged, his place in rock history and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame secure, and his multiple gold & platinum albums, sold-out tours plus countless honors and career achievement awards, there is little that Alice Cooper hasn't achieved in his remarkable career.
Cooper has rattled the cages and undermined the authority of generations of guardians of the status quo, continuing to surprise fans and exude danger at every turn, like a great horror movie, even in an era where 24 hour cable news can present real life shocking images.

Hollywood Vampires Announce Rare Live Performances

ROXY SHOWS AND ROCK IN RIO

DUFF MCKAGAN AND MATT SORUM WILL JOIN TOURING BAND

PARTNERSHIP WITH STARKEY HEARING FOUNDATION

In 1972, on the Sunset Strip at a club called the Rainbow Bar & Grill, the Hollywood Vampires were born in the upstairs bar.  It was a gathering place for rock stars living in or passing through L.A.  "To join the club, one simply had to out drink all of the members," says Alice Cooper, a founding member of the Vampires.  "I would walk in on a typical night," Alice says, "and John Lennon, Harry Nilsson, Keith Moon—who would usually be in a costume like a maid or a chauffeur—Bernie Taupin, Jim Morrison and Mickey Dolenz would be there. The next week might be Bernie Taupin, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison and Mickey Dolenz." Now, returning to where it once began, the Hollywood Vampires (Alice Cooper, Johnny Depp, and Joe Perry) have announced today two shows at the notorious Sunset Strip music venue, The Roxy.  This will mark the Hollywood Vampires' only U.S. appearances on September 16 and 17, and will surely be the most sought after ticket in town. Joining the Hollywood Vampires live will be Matt Sorum on drums, Duff McKagan on bass, Tommy Henriksen on guitar, and Bruce Witkin on piano and guitar. Tickets are on sale on August 14 for the September 16 show at http://ticketf.ly/1EdJvSI and September 17 show at http://ticketf.ly/1W5TvIT
Additionally on September 24, in what will be their only international appearance, the band will head to Brazil for "Rock in Rio." Before that show, the band will partner with Starkey Hearing Foundation, an organization that has provided more than 1.8 million free hearing aids to people in need in more than 100 countries, to offer and fit hearing aids to more than 150 people in need.  After the hearing aid fittings, the Hollywood Vampires and Starkey Hearing Foundation will bring a number of individuals to the show so they can hear music for the first time in their lives.
"Hearing connects us to life, our families and to the world around us," said Bill Austin, founder of Starkey Hearing Foundation. "It's a precious gift, and we are excited to work with the Hollywood Vampires to introduce so many to the world of sound and help them hear music for the first time."
Three years ago, Alice and good friend Johnny Depp got together and decided the spirit of the Hollywood Vampires should live again (minus the drinking).  An environment for great artists to hang, laugh and play together. The Hollywood Vampires live again with the release of the Hollywood Vampires new album.  Alice and Johnny were joined by Joe Perry, who is an old friend of both of them, and with producer Bob Ezrin, the recording began: a tribute to the original Hollywood Vampires.  The new album is set to be released on September 11 and all artist proceeds will be donated to MusiCares.
About Starkey Hearing Foundation
Starkey Hearing Foundation uses hearing as a vehicle to reflect caring and change lives around the world. Disabling hearing loss affects more than 360 million people, including 32 million children, worldwide, yet many do not have access to the hearing devices that can help them. As a member of Clinton Global Initiative, Starkey Hearing Foundation has pledged to provide more than one million hearing aids to people in need this decade and currently gives more than 175,000 hearing aids annually. In addition to giving the gift of hearing through worldwide hearing missions, Starkey Hearing Foundation promotes hearing health awareness and education through the Listen Carefully campaign and provides hearing instruments to low-income Americans through the Hear Now program. Started as the philanthropic effort of Starkey Hearing Technologies, Starkey Hearing Foundation was founded by William F. Austin in 1984. For more information on Starkey Hearing Foundation follow them on Facebook and Twitter, or visit www.starkeyhearingfoundation.org.

Legendary Hollywood Vampires Rise Again

New album out September 11

LOS ANGELES,  -- In 1972, on the Sunset Strip at a club called the Rainbow Bar & Grill, the Hollywood Vampires were born in the upstairs bar.  It was a gathering place for the rock stars living in or passing through L.A. The next week might be Bernie Taupin, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison and Mickey Dolenz."
Alice and Johnny were joined by Joe Perry, who is an old friend of both of them, and the recording began: a tribute to the original Hollywood Vampires.
For the next two years, Alice, Joe and Johnny, joined by producer Bob Ezrin and an amazing group of modern day vampires, including Perry Farrell, Dave Grohl, Sir Paul McCartney, Joe Walsh, Slash, Robbie Krieger, Zak Starkey, Brian Johnson and Kip Winger, recorded tracks by their dead friends and heroes.  Also included are two original songs that tell the story of the Vampires, one of which, "Raise The Dead," has an intro by Sir Christopher Lee, recorded just prior to his death.
The album package, an antique book, was created by noted men's fashion designer (and rock fan) John Varvatos in his signature vintage style.  Alice and Varvatos, both Detroit natives, have been partners in fashion for several years with Alice lending his classic rock style as a brand ambassador.
A sneak peek at the liner notes, penned by original Hollywood Vampire Bernie Taupin, "I'm not here to defend their vices. Over-indulgence of any sort does not ultimately constitute for a healthy mind and body. And while on the periphery of those involved, wives may have come and gone, career choices may have been deemed dubious, and heartbreak in some cases stalked a dark corridor, but in the lair of the Hollywood Vampires only joy and laughter reigned."
"I'm not completely sure what constituted bad behavior back then, but in this lair it existed in a bubble, a hermetically sealed dome of fun. It may not have been the round table at the Algonquin, but these were witty, intelligent guys who often got raucous and loud, but rest assured there were no bystanders or animals hurt in the making of the Hollywood Vampires."
All artist proceeds will be donated to MusiCares.

THE CRINGE KICK OFF SUMMER TOUR
SUPPORTING MÖTLEY CRÜE ON "THE FINAL TOUR"!

NEW STUDIO ALBUM TO BE RELEASED LATER THIS SUMMER!
Los Angeles, CA -  - New York City rockers The Cringe will kick off their summer tour this Tuesday, July 28th supporting Mötley Crüe on "The Final Tour," alongside very special guest Alice Cooper. The Cringe, reprising their support slot from the fall/winter leg of the Mötley Crüe tour, will join the epic summer outing for 27 dates. Recently, the band wrapped up work on their new studio album helmed by producer Don Gilmore (Linkin Park, Trapt, Bullet For My Valentine, Hollywood Undead), the highly anticipated follow up to Hiding In Plain Sight. For up-to-date tour and album information, please visit the band's official website: www.thecringe.com.

Over the last decade, the Lower Manhattan-based band has made a name for itself by opening incredibly explosive live shows for bands like The New York Dolls, Steel Panther, Trapt, Alter Bridge, and Fuel. Check out video of The Cringe performing the song "In God We Trust" from their album Tipping Point during a show at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, BC on the 2014 fall/winter leg of Mötley Crüe's "Final Tour".

The Cringe - fronted by singer and songwriter Cusimano, whose members include lead guitarist James Rotondi (Air, Mr. Bungle), bassist Jonny Blaze (Crash Moderns, Alice Smith) and drummer Shawn Pelton (Sheryl Crow, SNL Band, Bruce Springsteen) - have been lauded both for their incendiary live performances and top-flight musicianship, reveling in rough-hewn textures, bold instrumental turns, and aggressive grooves. Enthused All Music Guide, "Cusimano's infectious and insightful songwriting is the foundation for the band's dynamic mix of artful, harmonic power pop and raw, aggressive punk garage-band energy."

Joan Jett and Little Kids Rock Say "I Love Rock N' Roll" for Music Education

Sixth Annual Little Kid Rock Benefit Raises Approximately $1.5 Million

NEW YORK,  -- Thursday night, non-profit organization, Little Kids Rock, hosted its sixth annual benefit at Hammerstein Ballroom at The Manhattan Center, which generated approximately $1.5 million in donations to help support students and music teachers in public schools with donated instruments, curricular resources and training. The benefit also honored Joan Jett as "Rocker of the Year" for the impact that her career, influence, and music has had on the charity's 'Modern Band' music program, which helps facilitate the teaching of popular musical styles that kids know and love, like rock, hip hop, country, blues and funk.
"For twelve years, Little Kids Rock has supported over 320,000 teachers and students realize the true impact of music – inside and outside the classroom," said David Wish, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Little Kids Rock. "Thanks to the generosity of our partners and supporters, we're able to continue to bring this gift to thousands of kids each year, long after the benefit has ended."
To begin, guests enjoyed a performance by Sharkapella, an after school a cappella vocal group made of current and former students ages 13-16. Maureen Van Zandt then formally welcomed the audience to the evening's festivities. Van Zandt is an honorary board member of Little Kids Rock alongside her husband, Steven Van Zandt, who also served as the producer of this year's musical production and oversees his own Rock and Roll Forever Foundation.
Following her introduction, The Sopranos' Vincent Pastore and radio host, Rich Russo, took to the stage to serve as hosts for the night, bringing David Wish front and center to honor Guitar Center's Mike Pratt for his and Guitar Center's support and partnership with the charity. Guitar Center also served as the title sponsor.
Wish went on to speak to the crowd about the charity's mission and, most importantly, the students and teachers it supports – teachers like John Flora, who joined a number of student performers on stage to captivate the crowd with hits like "Counting Stars."
"Not only do our students receive the gift of music education for free, but they also know they're welcome in a classroom where everyone speaks the only universal language the world has ever known- music," said Mr. Flora during his address to the audience.
Don Reo, who co-wrote the book Big Man with Clarence Clemons, then came to the stage to present the "Big Man of the Year" award to the late performer's nephew, Jake Clemons. The students joined him in two entertaining performances, "You're a Friend of Mine" and "Valentine Song."
Ten-year-old Ashley Nunez, a student from PS 98 Shorac Kappock elementary school in Manhattan who performed an original song featuring Jake Clemons, summed up the night best, saying "Little Kids Rock gave me the chance to learn to play music, and now they are giving me the chance to play a song that we wrote in school in front of all of these people. This has been such an awesome experience, and a night I'll never forget."
The night then turned its attention to Little Kids Rock "Rocker of the Year" Joan Jett, her legacy and the role she's played in advancing music education. Members of rock royalty paid homage, including Alice Cooper, Billie Joe Armstrong, Cheap Trick, Tommy James, Darlene Love, Gary U.S. Bonds, Kathleen Hanna with Ad-Rock, Mike Ness, Jesse Malin, Brody Dalle, Jake Clemons and Little Kids Rock students from local schools. Guests enjoyed a variety of covers and original music, such as:
  • Cheap Trick, "I Hate Myself For Loving You"
  • Gary US Bonds and Jake Clemons, "Eye to Eye"
  • Brody Dalle, "Victim of Circumstance"
  • Jesse Malin, "Bad Reputation"
  • Darlene Love, "Little Liar"
  • Mike Ness, "Love Is Pain"
  • Tommy James and Joan Jett, "Crimson and Clover"
  • Kathleen Hannah with Ad-Rock, "Fake Friends"
  • Billie Joe Armstrong and Joan Jett, "Don't Abuse Me"
  • Alice Cooper and Joan Jett, "Be My Lover"
The night ended, fittingly, with an epic finale of Joan's classic "I Love Rock N Roll."
