Ariana Grande Named "Best New Artist" At 2013 American Music Awards

Myriad Of TV Performances Including Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting, And Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve

NEW YORK, -- On Sunday, ARIANA GRANDE received the honor of "Best New Artist" at the 2013 American Music Awards.

This makes for the platinum-selling singer very first win at the annual ceremony. Moreover, she dazzled the audience with a show-stopping performance, driven by her immense vocal prowess and effusive charm. After an acapella rendition of her double-platinum smash "The Way", doo wop crooners joined her on stage for an enchanting "Tattooed Heart". Her voice immediately transfixed the entire audience in the Nokia Theatre and around the world. The superstar diva the 21st century has been waiting for has landed at the top.
About winning the award, she humbly said on stage, "Oh My God, I'm so nervous. Thank you so much. This is for my fans. I have the most loving, supporting fans in the world and I love them so much. Thank you to the AMAs for nominating me."
Meanwhile, Monte Lipman , Founder and Chairman of REPUBLIC RECORDS responsible for signing Ariana said, "When I first met Ariana, I was blown away by her extraordinary talent, passion for music, and burning competitive spirit.  It really comes as no surprise that she would be recognized as 'Best New Artist' for 2013. We are all so proud of her and this historic achievement."
GRANDE is closing out a banner 2013 in style. She just commenced her weekly series of holiday singles, "Christmas Kisses", by dropping her cover of Wham!'s "Last Christmas" to iTunes and all digital outlets this past week. "Christmas Kisses" continues with two gift-wrapped originals next. On November 26, fans will be treated to "Love Is Everything", while "Snow in California" arrives December 3. Then, a sexy take on the classic "Santa Baby" with her Sam & Cat co-star Liz Gillies rounds out the "Christmas Kisses" series December 10. This provides an appropriate bookend to a landmark year for the artist.
Bringing holiday cheer to the masses, "Last Christmas" will make its live television debut when GRANDE performs it at the legendary 87th annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on November 28. That night, she'll be joined by none other than THE ROOTS for a special Thanksgiving performance on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. Then, she's set to really light up the Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting with "Love Is Everything" and "Last Christmas" on December 4. Finally on December 31, she's set to ring in the New Year by performing on Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve .
2013 has truly belonged to GRANDE.
GRANDE's album Yours Truly arrived at #1 on the Billboard Top 200. It was the first time since January 2010 that a debut record from a female artist topped the chart. Not only did it bow at #1 on the Top 200, in addition, it was the #1 album on iTunes Overall Albums Chart and #1 on the Digital Albums Chart. Already, GRANDE has become a bona fide pop phenomenon. Executive VP of Republic Records Charlie Walk who led the incredible campaign proclaims, "She's simply magnetic. You hear her voice, and you fall in love with her. That's the hallmark of a superstar."

Luke Bryan launched his recent album "Crash My Party" with a No. 1 debut on both the Billboard 200 and County sales chart with 527,783 units in its first week of release, making it the largest sales debut for a Country male artist since 2004 and the fourth highest album to debut across all genres this year.  Additionally, Luke is one of only two country artists that have sold more than a half-million copies of an album in a single week since 2008. This is Bryan's second consecutive Top 200 #1 album.  Crash My Party has now sold over one million copies and has been certified Platinum by the RIAA.  His first headline tour, the "Dirt Road Diaries Tour" sold-out all dates this year and he recently announced a new tour will begin in January, the "That's My Kind of Night" tour.  Luke received his first American Music Award last year and this is his first time he will perform on the show.
Lady Gaga came to prominence following the release of her debut studio album The Fame (2008), which sold over 15 million copies worldwide.  Her contributions to the music industry have garnered her numerous achievements including five Grammy Awards amongst fifteen nominations, thirteen MTV Video Music Awards amongst twenty-six nominations, and the estimated sale of 24 million albums and 90 million singles worldwide. She has travelled the world on numerous tours including 2008's The Fame Ball, 2009-2011's The Monster Ball and 2012-2013's Born This Way Ball. An HBO television special titled Lady Gaga Presents the Monster Ball Tour: At Madison Square Garden earned an Emmy Award amongst its five nominations.  Her third studio album, Born This Way, broke the iTunes record for the fastest rise to the # 1 on release day. In 2013, Time Magazine named her the second most influential person of the decade. With over 2.5 billion combined views of all her videos online, Lady Gaga is one of the biggest living forces in social media with over 60 million likes on Facebook and over 40 million followers on Twitter. She is also a global activist and philanthropist, having been an outspoken supporter of many important issues including LGBT rights, HIV/AIDS awareness, body image issues, and youth empowerment. In 2011, she launched her own Born This Way Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to empowering youth and creating a kinder and braver world. In 2011 she also built & launched a social network just for her fans, LittleMonsters.com. Lady Gaga is the only artist in the digital era to top the 5 million sales mark with her first two hits. Lady Gaga's fourth studio album, ARTPOP, will be released on November 11, 2013 in conjunction with an app developed by TechHAUS, the technological branch of HAUS OF GAGA. On this day HAUS OF GAGA venges with forte to bring the music industry into a new age; an age where art drives pop, and the artist once again is in control of the "icon." ARTPOP could mean anything. But for Lady Gaga, this is a celebration of obsession.
Top Dawg Entertainment recording artist Kendrick Lamar burst into the mainstream on October 22, 2012 with the release of his major label debut, good kid, m.A.A.d city.  After having established himself as a force in the music industry with his Top Dawg Entertainment camp for nearly a decade, Lamar and company continue to leave their mark on hip-hop culture.  The platinum selling good kid, m.A.A.d city, has spawned three number one singles with "Swimming Pools (Drank)," "Poetic Justice," and "Bitch, Don't Kill My Vibe," with "Swimming Pools (Drank)" achieving platinum status and having sold 4.5 million singles overall.  Currently, Lamar is on tour with Kanye West on his nationwide Yeezus Tour.
Since its #2 Billboard Top 200 debut, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' debut album, 'The Heist' has reached Platinum sales. Along with two #1 hits under their belts, the premier hip-hop duo has appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone and performed on Saturday Night Live. The Seattle, WA based artists have also garnered attention in the NY Times, NPR, USA Today, TIME, graced the cover of Billboard, and more, with live performances on nearly every late night TV show. This fall, they will embark on a sold-out arena tour, fresh off of recently winning 3 MTV VMA's, for Best Hip-Hop Video, Best Cinematography, and Best Video with a Social Message.
Viewers will also get a second-screen experience jam-packed with "snack-able" videos, photos, GIFs, memes, "Insta-Fashion Pops", "Thank You Cam" shout outs, and much more across every major social platform.
