French deathcore heavyweights BETRAYING THE MARTYRS recently teased the upcoming release of their fourth full-length studio album, Rapture, preparing fans for what they describe as their "ultimate" album. Today, the band has revealed more new album details, plus a new music video for the single "Parasite". The video can be viewed now via the Sumerian Records YouTube channel in anticipation of the album's release via the label on September 13, 2019.

"Parasite" is a barrage of punishing riffs and crushing grooves, and a true depiction of what's to come on their next full-length release. Check out the stunning video, directed by Igor Omodei, here: https://youtu.be/Y3a5D1nItkE

Vocalist Aaron Matts comments on the single and video: "The song is a subject that I've wanted to touch on for quite some time now. It speaks of an internal battle of the minds between myself and that evil self that I'm sure we all have and know all too well. The story speaks of the innocent untainted self that ultimately trumps and returns to defeat this metaphorical parasite of depression and anxiety. The song is more of a celebration of overcoming a dark period in my life, but can be seen from more than one perspective. We're in love with the music video - Igor did a fantastic job as he always does, and we absolutely cannot wait for people to see what we've been working so hard on!"

"Parasite" follows the single "Eternal Machine", which is currently approaching 200k views on YouTube. Both tracks will appear on Rapture. Check out "Eternal Machine" here: https://youtu.be/u7J4cXFpCZ0

Pre-orders for Rapture are available now here: http://smarturl.it/BTMRapture
Merch bundles are available here: www.btmrapture.com

Rapture promises to deliver many more neck-breaking metal tracks packed with huge hooks and melodies. The sextet set out to create their most impressive release yet and have exceeded all expectations with Rapture. Tracks like "Incarcerated" depict how deep the band is willing to go down the personal rabbit hole lyrically, while songs like "Rapture" and "Imagine" showcase the true span of the band's musical spectrum - proving that any metal fan can find something to love on Rapture.

Aaron comments on Rapture"Rapture for us is a product of each one of our experiences up until this moment; each moment lived on the road, and every drop of inspiration picked up along the way. Written musically in the only way we know how, we took each one of our musical tastes and formed it into the ultimate album for ourselves, hoping that it will translate and fall onto the ears of the listeners the same way it falls onto ours. Rapture is a musical journey through each one of our minds, lyrics that come from both the darkest and lightest corners of our souls. We put everything into this one, leaving behind any preconceptions, and what came out the other side is something that we're all so proud of, and we hope that the listener will feel it within themselves also."

SHARES HYPNOTIC TITLE TRACK TO REFLECTIVE THIRD ALBUM
& ANNOUNCES TOUR DATES

DOG IN A MANGER OUT AUGUST 9 VIA TONE TREE

ENJOY / SHARE "DOG IN A MANGER" AT PARADE

New York, NY (June 26, 2019) – Smooth Hound Smith – husband-and-wife duo Zack Smith and Caitlin Doyle-Smith – will release Dog In A Manger on August 9 via Tone Tree. The reflective third album came about after the sudden passing of Zack’s father from a rapid illness. The results channel deep emotion into arrangements that somehow feel at once timeless and immediate.

The lyrics never recount the events underlying the project, yet through understatement and insightful irony they tap into the urgency that often flows below the surface of everyday living. Parade premiered the hypnotic title track ahead of its release this Friday via all digital platforms calling it, "hauntingly beautiful." Enjoy and share "Dog In A MangerHERE.

“‘Dog’ is probably my favorite piece of music overall on this new record,” says Zack. “The title comes from a Greek fable and is now used as an idiom to speak of one who, out of spite, prevents others from succeeding or finding happiness.

“It’s an attempt to unpack a lot of my personal baggage in regards to entering a new period in my life: the idea of getting married and staying committed for a lifetime, and the personal changes and sacrifices I’m required to make."

The songs on Dog in a Manger's tracklist salute the far corners of the Americana world, touching upon everything from greasy, big-city blues to acoustic folk. There are slide guitar solos, coed harmonies, a Fleetwood Mac cover and a cameo by the North Mississippi Allstars' Luther Dickinson tossed into the mix, too.

The album is the third effort from the duo, and while their previous releases evince their unique vocal blend and ability to coax compelling music from minimal instrumentation, Dog In A Manger brings it all to a higher level of expression.

Smooth Hound Smith recently announced a massive tour in support of Dog In A Manger. Following a run of July performances, the band starts in the south on August 23, heading north up to Maine before turning across the country, ending in Phoenix on November 9. It was simply great.”

(Tickets On-Sale 6/28 at 10am)

Throughout history, unity starts on the dancefloor. From ancient tribal cultures to neon night clubs, beats bring bodies together. Once grinding and grooving in unison, the movement generates friction, sparks, and light. That might just be the purest form of energy on the planet. The Motet harness such energy on their ninth full-length, Death or Devotion. In fact, the Denver septet—Dave Watts [drums], Joey Porter [keys], Garrett Sayers [bass], Ryan Jalbert [guitar], Lyle Divinsky [vocals], Drew Sayers [sax], and Parris Fleming [trumpet]—encode a message in their energetic mélange of boisterous badass funk, swaggering soul, and thought-provoking pop. In the process, they challenge convention and arrive with a dynamic, diverse, and definitive statement. “The essence is always going to be the groove, but we wanted to expand the idea of what a funk album could be,” says Lyle. “Of course, you want a driving backbeat. However, with the division that’s going on in this country and the world, I think it’s every artist’s responsibility to create a conversation. That conversation doesn’t have to be political either. It can be about love or an introspective journey. I think the commentary should be on what it’s like to be alive today. By drawing on funk, we create a fun, palatable musical vehicle for the message to go down. Our goal is for you to recognize we’re all dancing on the same dance floor—even though our steps may look a little different.”

Letter From The Michael Jackson Estate On The 10th Anniversary Of His Passing

LOS ANGELESJune 25, 2019  -- Ten years ago today, the world lost a gifted artist and extraordinary humanitarian. The entire global community joined in grieving during a powerful and emotional memorial service witnessed by more people than had ever viewed a live event before. Messages of condolences from Nelson Mandela and others were read as was a poem written for the occasion by the esteemed Maya AngelouBerry Gordy Jr., founder of Motown, eulogized his protégé by saying, "…the King of Pop is not big enough for him. I think he is simply the greatest entertainer that ever lived." United in grief, the world wept not only at the loss of an artistic genius but at the void left by the loss of a father, son and brother.A decade later, Michael Jackson is still with us, his influence embedded in dance, fashion, art and music of the moment. He is more important than ever. But the true measure of Michael was his giving to others which came in many forms. He comforted the unfortunate at hospitals, in long term care facilities and at halfway houses. He equipped Neverland Ranch with medical facilities to accommodate patients seeking refuge from their lonely hospital rooms, and thousands came. He visited troops on bases around the world serving their country. Guinness World Records acknowledged his efforts with an award for Most Charities Supported by a Pop Star.

n a world where numbers are the measure of a man, Michael Jackson is a resounding success, whether by his 16 #1 singles and 8 #1 albums in the US or the fact that his album Thriller is owned by more people on the planet than any album ever made and Thriller the short film is the only music video to have been inducted into the National Film Registry. And when mastery of a craft is the measure, Michael Jackson's divine abilities remain the yardstick by which others are measured and against which today's masters still measure themselves.
But we best remember Michael by paying tribute to his legacy of philanthropic work and ask music fans everywhere to make a difference in their community - whether it's planting a tree, volunteering at a shelter, cleaning up a public space or helping someone who is lost find their way. "I believe each person can make a difference in the life of someone in need," he said. This is how we honor Michael.
