Rentrak's Senior Media Analyst Paul Dergarabedian commented, "Like the Millennium Falcon shifting into hyper-drive, Disney's 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' demolishes more records as it hits the $1 billion mark in just 12 days, faster in than any other film in box office history and also became the fastest film to hit $500 million in North America in a record 10 days. China is well-represented with two titles in the second and third spots respectively with the debut of 'Devil and Angel (E Gun Tian Shi)' followed by 'Mojin: The Lost Legend' in its second weekend."
