Railroad Earth - The Great Divide - (Audio Only)
For Immediate Release—

New Railroad Earth Single “The Great Divide” Out Today
North America winter tour announced for early 2020; full album due next year produced by Anders Osborne
October 29, 2019 - Stillwater, NJ - Today, perineal roots-rock favorites Railroad Earth released “The Great Divide,” the first single from their new album, All For The Song, due out in 2020. Famously known for their genre-bending implementation of bluegrass instruments in non-traditional styles and arrangements, Railroad Earth—Todd Sheaffer (guitar), Tim Carbone (violin), John Skehan (mandolin), Carey Harmon (drums), and Andrew Altman (bass)—have always subscribed to the get-in-where-you-fit-in mentality. “We walk on either side of a line,” Skehan says. “The bluegrass influence is primarily in instrumentation—having a banjo, fiddle, mandolin, upright bass, and guitar – but it’s still a rock band.”

In “The Great Divide,” the band plays it close to home, never straying too far from their string band influences, and never needing to. The song reads somewhere between an old-timey gospel number and a modern meditation on death and what comes next. The opening line, “there’s tellin’ of a better home a-waitin’, waitin’ on the other side,” sets the tone for the rest of the song, describing a better life or after-life “across these troubled waters; across the great divide.” It’s a touching tribute to Railroad Earth founder and multi-instrumentalist Andy Goessling, who passed away in October of 2018, and a fitting first single from All For The Song, the band’s first full-length album without Goessling. “The Great Divide” is now available via Youtube and will be available tomorrow for purchase and streaming.

From January to March 2020, Railroad Earth are heading to a hefty number of our nation’s finest and most time-honored live music venues, including two nights at San Francisco’s famed Fillmore, The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY, First Ave in Minneapolis, and a two-night run at D.C. favorite, 9:30 Club. In these rooms, All For The Song’s arrangements will take on entirely new forms and facades night to night. “We don’t typically play stuff before we record it. It gets recorded, then we play it live,” Altman says. “That’s when we really find out what the song’s personality is and what really works.” A full list of tour dates can be found below, and tickets are available now via the band’s fanclub. Click here to access. General on-sale begins at 10 A.M. local time on Friday, Nov. 1. Stay tuned to the band’s socials and website for additional 2020 tour dates.

'BEHIND MIRANDA LAMBERT'S WILDCARD' SHORT FILM COMING EXCLUSIVELY TO APPLE MUSIC

Watch A Teaser HERE

'Behind Miranda Lambert's Wildcard', an original short film chronicling the making of the country superstar's forthcoming 7th album, comes exclusively to Apple Music on Monday, November 4th. Consider it an invitation into her brave new world: an adventurous, creative playground which finds her ruminating on her Texas roots while exploring new horizons. Lambert now splits her time between Nashville and New York, and says the latter's confident, spontaneous energy has seeped into her art.

In the film, Miranda discusses approaching the making of Wildcard like her first album, the importance of taking time off to make room for creativity, channeling confidence, chasing a more spontaneous live sound, and the trickiness of blending country and rock, telling Apple Music: "Country it's what I do, it's who I am - but I love rock and roll."

'Behind Miranda Lambert's Wildcard' features appearances and commentary from the album's producer Jay Joyce as well as co-writers Natalie Hemby, Ashley Monroe, Luke Dick and The Love Junkies, which are comprised of Liz Rose, Lori McKenna and Hillary Lindsey.

Wildcard, out on November 1st, is already the most pre-added country album by a female artist on Apple Music of all time.

ABOUT JOSEPH

Choosing their name in deference to their grandfather Jo, and the tiny Oregon town of Joseph where he lived, Natalie Schepman and her two twin sisters Allison and Meegan Closner, grew up in a musical household (their dad was a jazz singer and drummer, their mom a theater teacher), but didn’t sing together until just a few years ago. Joseph officially formed in 2014 when Natalie, an aspiring performer looking for a creative jolt, asked her sisters to form a band together.

They quickly discovered their gift for songwriting and vocal alchemy and began cultivating a devoted fan base playing secret house party gigs before signing with ATO Records. Since then, Joseph has been named a 2016 Spotify Spotlight artist, toured with James Bay and Amos Lee, performed on Ellen, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Today Show, CBS This Morning Saturday, "Later" with Jools Holland and prestigious festival stages like Coachella, Bonnaroo, Austin City Limits and Outside Lands.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The undisputed “King of Country Music,” George Strait again used his platform for good, recognizing National First Responders Day yesterday, Oct. 28, by supporting The 100 Club of San Antonio’s efforts to assist families of fallen first responders in connection with his latest single “The Weight of the Badge.”

Written together by Strait, his son Bubba and longtime collaborator Dean Dillon, “The Weight of the Badge” off Strait’s most recent album,
Honky Tonk Time Machine, speaks to the sacrifices made by our nation’s first responders and marks Strait’s record-extending 100th entry on the Billboard Country Airplay chart, where he also holds the record for most Top 10s with 61 songs.

Strait’s ninth annual Vaqueros del Mar golf tournament and benefit concert, hosted together with longtime friend and businessman Tom Cusick from Oct. 20-23 at the Tapatio Springs Hill Country Resort in Boerne, Texas, also raised a record-setting $2.2 million and counting for the
Feherty’s Troops First Foundation which directly benefits wounded military service men and women. In addition to Strait, the event also featured performances by artists including Ray Benson & Asleep at the Wheel, Jamey Johnson, Randy Houser, Wade Bowen, Randy Rogers and Sailor Jerry.

Strait was recognized last Friday, Oct. 25, at the Medal of Honor Convention’s Patriot Award Gala with the Bob Hope Award for Excellence in Entertainment, which honors entertainers who demonstrate an exceptional commitment to the U.S. military through film, literature or music.

He also recently announced his return to the heartland in 2020 via performances at INTRUST Bank Arena on Friday, January 24 for Visit Wichita Presents Strait to Oz and in Kansas City for Strait to the Heartland at Sprint Center on Saturday, January 25 and Sunday, January 26, 2020. Out Today - Music Industry Legend Jon Zazula's, "Heavy Tales: The Metal. The Music. The Madness. As Lived by Jon Zazula"

Told by Megaforce Records Co-Founder Jon Zazula
Brought to Life by Harold Claros-Maldonado
Foreword by Testament Vocalist Chuck Billy

Heavy Tales: The Metal. The Music. The Madness. As Lived by Jon Zazula Available in Hardcover and Paperback
Here

Heavy Tales: The Metal. The Music. The Madness. As Lived by Jon Zazula, the detailed, never before told story of how Jonny Z founded legendary New Jersey-based label Megaforce Records with his wife, Marsha, is officially available today.

"What a long strange trip it's been, and now the book is finally out!" Zazula says. "I hope everyone enjoys reading these stories that contributed to this piece of heavy metal history."

Born in 1952, Jon Zazula, known the world over as Jonny Z, began his extraordinary journey as a renegade youth who went from living on the streets of the Bronx, to later working on Wall Street, and eventually (and unexpectedly) transitioning into the music business and discovering Metallica and others. Jonny Z tells all about his incredible life in the brand new book that he describes as, "not a typical rock n' roll book, but rather, a blue collar success story."

Heavy Tales details the stories of how Jonny Z worked miracles by managing and releasing albums by MetallicaAnthraxTestamentMercyful FateRavenOverkillExciterStormtroopers of DeathMethod of DestructionAce FrehleyKing's XMinistryMindfunkNudeswirlWarren HaynesDisco Biscuits and others.

In the winter of 1982, Jonny Z received an unexpected demo tape from underground, unsigned band Metallica. Eager and determined to have the music heard by the entire world, Jonny and Marsha, founded Megaforce Records in 1983, and soon after, released Metallica's debut album, Kill 'Em All. Through this release, Megaforce cemented its position as the de-facto music label in America for heavy metal - but that's just the start. The bands they would go on to work with released some of the most prolific and important albums in heavy metal history, giving it its Golden Era.

The stories told in Heavy Tales were captured and compiled by Harold Claros-Maldonado, a lifelong fan of heavy metal who originally contacted the Zazulas to write a report on early Metallica. After several discussions, Zazula felt Claros-Maldonado would be the ideal partner to help him tell his story in a book.

With a foreword written by Testament vocalist Chuck Billy, plus over 100 rare photographs unearthed from the MegaVault and photographer friends worldwide, Heavy Tales is the definitive American story of a family man with a dream, determined to prove to the world that heavy metal belonged on the stage, in your car, on the radio and in your living room.

Hardcover and paperback copies of Heavy Tales are now available via www.jonzazula.com, as well as digital retailers such as Amazon and Barnes & Noble. The ebook version of Heavy Tales will be released on Black Friday, November 29.

"Heavy Tales is a hard-rocking New Jersey epic - complete with supporting appearances by the likes of Metallica and Anthrax, now-legendary metal bands that the Zazulas gave vital support to in the early 1980s...In addition to being an essential document of a New Jersey chapter in music history, the book is also a testament to the power of the decades-spanning partnership between Jon and Marsha Zazula, a tandem that helped change the sound of the world. After years of not getting recognized, Jon said, Marsha is now getting her due. - Asbury Park Press

Heavy Tales: The Metal. The Music. The Madness. As Lived by Jon Zazula will become a treasured piece of history for music lovers...Readers are taken on the journey of the metal scene in a way that gives an intimate glance into the behind the scenes world that is usually kept a closely guarded secret. Jonny Z has a candor and sense of humor that keeps you sucked in and reading along with anticipation as his, and his wife Marsha's, lives unfold." - The Rustbelt Chronicles

"...Zazula's written story comes across like you're having a one on one conversation with the man himself. There's humor, emotion and an undeniable love for the music he's so intricately been a part of...and the generous section of photos alone makes this a must have." Metal Temple

The St. Louis Wheel Turns Red Tonight
for Drug Prevention Awareness
Red Ribbon Week
7 p.m. Wednesday, October 30

Wednesday night at 7 p.m. the DEA will host a small ceremony at The St. Louis Wheel outside The Soda Fountain to show appreciation for those involved with Red Ribbon Week events. Entertainment will be provided by the Spirits of New Northside Drum Line. This event is the culmination of a month’s long effort to educate the community about the dangers of drug misuse and abuse. We hope the media will use this visual opportunity of The St. Louis Wheel at Union Station lit red for photo coverage, during evening newscasts, for bump shots and weathercasts to help create awareness and call attention to these important efforts.

FROM THE DEA: (St. Louis, MO) - The Drug Enforcement Administration hopes cities all across the country will “Go Red” throughout the remainder of the month of October in honor of Red Ribbon Week, the nation’s oldest and largest drug prevention awareness program.

At a Red Ribbon Flag Raising ceremony at the St. Louis Division Office earlier this month Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration, William J. Callahan, III, encouraged community and business leaders in St. Louis to “Go Red” in support of Red Ribbon Week by lighting up buildings, landmarks, business and bridges throughout the metropolitan area. We are excited to announce that The St. Louis Wheel at Union Station has accepted that challenge and will be lit red on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 in honor of the DEA’s Red Ribbon Week campaign.

“We have had tremendous support from St. Louis area community and business leaders who believe coming together to work with law enforcement will make this region an even more enjoyable, safe place to live and visit,” said Special Agent in Charge Callahan, “to have the brand-new, 200 foot St. Louis Wheel at Union Station lit up in honor of the Drug Enforcement Administration’s community outreach efforts is truly an honor.”

Drug overdoses continue to be a leading cause of death across this country. In 2018, an estimated 68,500 people died as the result of a fatal overdose. More than a thousand of those deaths were right here in Missouri. In an effort to reduce the supply of lethal drugs we must reduce the demand using all the tools available including unrelenting enforcement, prevention efforts and treatment opportunities.

Red Ribbon Week takes place every year between October 23-31. Throughout the week Special Agents, Task Force Officers and Outreach Specialists from the DEA share the story of Special Agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena with students, staff and community leaders. SA Camarena was brutally tortured and killed in 1985 during an investigation of a dangerous, Mexican cartel. We continue to honor SA Camarena’s sacrifice year after year by shining a light on the dangers and violence associated with drug misuse and abuse.

Wednesday night at 7 pm the DEA will host a small ceremony at The St. Louis Wheel at Union Station lit red throughout the day during bump shots and weathercasts to help create awareness and call attention to these important efforts.

Niagara Falls, the Empire State building, and the Capital Wheel in the Washington DC harbor are among other landmarks who have gone red for Red Ribbon Week. For more information or to access the Red Ribbon toolkit visit www.dea.gov/redribbon and follow us on Twitter @DEASTLOUISDiv
