J Skillz Records/Kalvary recording artist, multi-GRAMMY ® nominated and Multi-Platinum R&B producer, writer and singer Johnny Gill, unveils details of his highly-anticipated eighth studio album, GAME CHANGER II. The 11-track album is available for pre-order beginning today (click here) and will be available everywhere on September 6.
In addition, Gill has released his powerful second single "Perfect" which features New Edition band mate Ralph Tresvant"Perfect" is available here: Spotify / Apple
"I've always been aware of how powerful women are. From my Mom, to the women I have worked with during my career," says Gill. "Their power deserves our respect, which is why I always make it a priority to honor women through my music."
On the heels of his #1 hit "Soul of a Woman," Gill delivers an ode to the quintessential woman in the form of natural beauty, strength and intellect with "Perfect" and enlists Ralph Tresvant, who delivers an effortless hook. Together, they complete the sultry ballad which is currently climbing the charts and sets up a timely release of Game Changer II.
Gill delivers his eighth solo studio album entitled Game Changer II, which serves as the sequel to the highly successful 2014 Game Changer release. The first single from Game Changer II finds Johnny setting things off with a solid traditional R&B message song "Soul of a Woman." The poignant song opens a rare window into Johnny's personal life as it was primarily inspired by his mother, Annie Mae. "I held on to this song, produced by Pagani since the last album," Johnny shares, "listening to the demo for my own personal pleasure. It's not your everyday song," which is exactly why Gill enlisted comedic Emmy Award-winning actress Tiffany Haddish to co-star with him in the video for the single.
From there, Game Changer II explodes with a generous variety of unique instant classics including the Latin energy of "Fiesta" featuring GRAMMY ® Award-winning guitarist
Carlos Santana and GRAMMY ® nominated percussionist queen Sheila E. Additional tracks include the Reggae-tinged love song "Only One" as well as "Favorite Girl" – all produced by GRAMMY ® Award-winning producer/musician/songwriter Blac Elvis out of Atlanta. Another surefire standout is "That's My Baby," a sumptuous and harmonically sophisticated tribute to one of Johnny's greatest musical heroes, Luther Vandross, produced by Ralph StacyMost importantly, Johnny Gill is back and better than ever!

Beastie Boys Limited Anniversary Edition Colored Vinyl To Be Released On October 4th

'Paul's Boutique,' 'Ill Communication' + 'Root Down EP' and 'To The 5 Boroughs'

On October 4, 2019, a series of limited edition colored vinyl will be released to mark the anniversaries of Beastie Boys' Paul's Boutique (30th anniversary), Ill Communication (25th anniversary), including the Root Down EP, and To The 5 Boroughs (15th anniversary). All versions are pressed on 180gram vinyl and can be pre-ordered here.
Paul's Boutique 30th Anniversary (2LP Violet Colored Vinyl):To mark the 30th anniversary of Beastie Boys' 1989 landmark second album, Paul's Boutique will be released as a 2LP set pressed on standard black vinyl as well as limited edition violet colored vinyl.

Recorded in Los Angeles with a sample-based Dust Brothers production, Paul's Boutique marked a giant creative leap forward for Adrock, Mike D and MCA. Ranking high on critic's lists including Pitchfork's "Top 100 Albums of the 1980s," Time Magazine's "100 Greatest Albums of All TIME" and Rolling Stone's "500 Greatest Albums of All Time," Paul's Boutique went on to sell over 2 million albums.

Ill Communication 25th Anniversary (2LP Silver Metallic Colored Vinyl) + Root Down EP (Orange, Red, Blue, Green Colored Vinyl):Beastie Boys' multi-platinum selling album Ill Communication will be released as a limited edition, 2LP set pressed on silver-metallic colored vinyl. There will also be multiple limited edition vinyl pressings of Root Down EP, available as orange, red, blue and green, that will be randomly distributed and sold separately.

Released in 1994, Beastie Boys' fourth studio album Ill Communication debuted at No. 1 and was an unstoppable force, pervading every aspect of pop culture.

Its charge to the top of the charts was led by "Sabotage" and its legendary Spike Jonze/Nathanial Hornblower '70s TV police drama tribute, as Rolling Stone dubbed Ill Communication 1994's "soundtrack for summer." Crowds and critics alike were floored by highlights "Sure Shot," "Root Down" and "Get It Together," as Vibe—in the magazine's first cover story on a white artist–hailed Beastie Boys as "perhaps the most consistently innovative musicians to emerge out of hip hop." It was a claim that Ill Communication has justified for years to come, and 25 years later Ill Communication's impact has resonated with generation after generation.

Shortly after, Beastie Boy's released the Root Down EP featuring the original album version of "Root Down" off Ill Communication, plus several remix versions. Also included are seven live tracks from their 1995 European winter tour.

To The 5 Boroughs 15th Anniversary (2LP Blue Colored Vinyl):Beastie Boys' self-produced dedication to their home state of New York, To The 5 Boroughs, celebrates its 15thanniversary with a 2LP, limited edition blue vinyl pressing.

Released in 2004, the platinum selling To The 5 Boroughs hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200, Top Rap Albums, Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, Top Current Albums, Rap Album Sales and Top Album Sales charts. The album features a steady mix of deep pop culture references in tracks such as "Shazam!" and "Ch-Check It Out," as well as more serious social and political issues with "Right Right Now Now," "It Takes Time To Build" and "An Open Letter To NYC." Rolling Stone stated "To The 5 Boroughs is an exciting, astonishing balancing act: fast, funny and sobering," while Pitchfork proclaimed, "the album's easy air speaks to veteran, nothing-to-lose attitude of both the city and the group."

ERIN ENDERLIN ANNOUNCES THIRD RELEASE IN EP SERIES: CHAPTER THREE: WHATEVER GETS YOU THROUGH THE NIGHT

Singer-Songwriter Enderlin Continues Her Four-Part Musical Journey On August 23
Chapter Three: Whatever Gets You Through the Night available August 23
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Nashville troubadour Erin Enderlin will soon reveal the third chapter of her four-installment 2019 digital EP series with the eagerly-awaited release of Chapter Three: Whatever Gets You Through The Night on August 23. As did its predecessors, the new EP focuses on character-driven lyrical storytelling on matters of love, loss, struggle and hope.
This time around, Enderlin receives storytelling help from some friends, as she is joined on its three tracks by Dillon Carmichael (“Whatever Gets You Through The Night”), Vince Gill and Alison Kraus (“Sweet Emmylou”) and Ronnie Bowman on a gorgeous and faithful rendering of the Gene Watson’s “Use Me Again.”
Enderlin is already enjoying a successful 2019, with roughly a hundred shows on the touring calendar and her songs included on new releases by personal heroes Reba McEntire, Rhonda Vincent and Rodney Crowell. In June, she took home three Arkansas Country Music Awards including Female Vocalist of the Year and Songwriter of the Year. Shortly thereafter, the title track from Chapter Two: I Can Be Your Whiskey, was featured in Rolling Stone’s “10 Best Country Songs To Hear Now.”
Throughout her career as both a songwriter and an artist, Enderlin has remained steadfast in her commitment to making music steeped in the genuine traditions of country music and it's that conviction that is fueling a great deal of her current success.
“Erin’s authentic sound and heartfelt lyrics are reminiscent of the early days of The Judds,” Raised Rowdy recently proclaimed. “This is what country music should sound like, folks.”
Enderlin puts that authenticity on full display throughout Chapter Three: Whatever Gets You Through The Night. While the theme of Chapter Two: I Can Be Your Whiskey is the eternal pursuit of love, the thread that runs acrossChapter Three: Whatever Gets You Through The Night is of the bitter heartbreak that comes from losing it. The Arkansas native croons mournfully about the travails of despair and loneliness on the EP’s title track while “Sweet Emmylou,” is a plea from the song’s broken-hearted main character to Emmylou Harris for help getting them through their heartbreak. Enderlin chooses the perspective of the “other woman” in Watson’s “Use Me Again,” written by Curly Putnam, Dale Dodson and Billy Lawson, to round out this chapter’s reflections on the desolation of love lost.
The fourth and final chapter in Enderlin’s storytelling tour de force is slated for release later this year.
About Erin Enderlin
The last few years have been especially busy for singer-songwriter Erin Enderlin. While she first turned heads as a godsend to those aching for an artist with some golden-era country backbone, Enderlin’s acclaimed 2017 record Whiskeytown Crier cemented her as something even more: a literary songwriter and superb vocal stylist with a knack for sharply drawn––and often sad––characters. Named a member of the 2018 CMT Next Women of Country class and recipient of the Arkansas Country Music Awards Songwriter, Female Vocalist and Album of the Year trophies, she has surged to the forefront of new artists rooted in the genre’s rich history. Enderlin is also a go-to writer for stars looking for heavyweight country with classic panache––Alan Jackson’s “Monday Morning Church,” Lee Ann Womack’s “Last Call,” Luke Bryan’s “You Don’t Know Jack” and a host of other songs recorded by Randy Travis, Joey + Rory, Reba McEntire, Terri Clark, Whisperin’ Bill Anderson and more are all Enderlin-penned.

Raised on a farm in Indiana, Janie Fricke began singing in church, and later turned that talent into a career which began as one of the marketing industry's most successful jingle singers. She won CMA's coveted "Female Vocalist of the Year” in 1983 and '84 and has been nominated for three Grammy Awards. She has been credited with over 1,600 album projects and scored 36 hit singles.

In addition, Fricke put a bluegrass spin with some fresh interpretations to many of her beloved tunes with the release of Country Side of Bluegrass. MIDLAND LANDS TOP MEDIA LOOKS AHEAD OF AUGUST 23
ALBUM RELEASE

Grammy®-Nominated Trio To Take NBC’s Today Show Plaza on August 28

NEW YORK, NY (August 14, 2019) – Following recent performances of their current single “Mr. Lonely” on ABC’s “CMA Fest” and on NBC’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon”-- prompting Rolling Stoneto praise that they were “owning the late-night stage”- Texas-based trio MIDLAND will bring the heat to NBC’s “TODAY” show plaza on Wednesday, August 28 in celebration of their sophomore album LET IT ROLL, out August 23. The announcement of Midland’s upcoming performance as part of the Citi Concert Series comes on the same day as the twice Grammy®-nominated trio is profiled by Esquire. Midland shared their new music with the magazine’s Madison Vain who wrote, “Together, they penned tales of wayward cowboys, lovesick rock n' rollers, and charming drifters, and laid them over a landscape rich with Bakersfield twang, throwback acoustics, and modern pop sensibilities.”

Midland announced their arrival in 2017 with a strong shot of classic Country served with a Laurel Canyon chaser. People noticed, and the band was invited to tour with Dwight Yoakam, George Strait, Garth Brooks and Little Big Town. But it wasn’t just their music that caught people’s attention. In addition to standing out in the modern-day Country genre for their signature twang and three-part harmonies, the Academy of Country Music award-winning trio have also garnered much attention for their flair for fashion-- and Esquire took notice. The magazine says, “But it's not just their yesteryear-inspired tunes making waves. It's also their ten-gallon hats and their glinting gold chains; their gaucho ponchos and bolero ties. The Aloha shirts, silk button-downs, and Ranger-style belts—all of it—are a far cry from the baseball-cap-and-T-shirt aesthetic that’s dominated their genre in recent years.”

Midland took Esquire vintage shopping in NYC and the experience is highlighted in a video that was also released today:
