Trace Adkins Confirms - PROUD TO BE HERE Is Set for August 2 Release on Show Dog - Universal Music

Upcoming Album Includes Latest Hit "Just Fishin'"; Bonus Tracks on Deluxe Edition Features Blake Shelton Appearance

NASHVILLE, Tenn., June 13, 2011--Trace Adkins has confirmed that PROUD TO BE HERE isn't just a humble motto of gratitude, it is the title of his forthcoming album, which will be released August 2, 2011 by Show Dog - Universal Music. The announcement was made in front of thousands of fans on Saturday night during Adkins' 13th consecutive CMA Music Festival performance at LP Field in Nashville, TN. The album Deluxe Edition will be available for presale on iTunes on July 12, 2011. Fans can participate in pre-sale orders and exclusive offers now via www.TraceAdkins.com.
"Proud To Be Here was chosen as the album title some weeks ago because it's how I've felt ever since my first album release and during every milestone since. The title song could have been based on my life and it's about narrow escapes and the grace that guides you through. Obviously, now after the fire, Proud To Be Here takes on an even greater significance. Once again, I've been blessed and everyone is safe. I don't even want to think what could've been had it started at 3am instead of 3pm..." said Trace.
Recorded in the Spring of 2011 and dubbed PROUD TO BE HERE last May, the album was produced by Kenny Beard and Mark Wright. The album contains 10 tracks with an additional 4 tracks appearing on the Deluxe Edition. The Deluxe Edition includes Trace and Blake Shelton (courtesy of Warner Bros. Records) on a hilarious response song called "If I Was a Woman," co-written by Trace Adkins, Sherrie Austin, Jeff Bates and Kenny Beard.
Trace's own co-writing is more prominent on PROUD TO BE HERE than on previous releases – a fact he attributes to the creative environment he has established on his farm outside of Nashville. The farm didn't only inspire new songs, it also recently served as the location for the "Just Fishin'" music video, starring youngest daughter, Trinity Adkins.
Lead single, "Just Fishin'" (Casey Beathard, Monty Criswell, Ed Hill) was produced by Michael Knox and is a father's tender tribute to his daughter. Adkins' signature subject range is present once again on PROUD TO BE HERE, whether he's cursing his brother Clay for moving in on his lady on "Damn You Bubba," or celebrating the simple pleasures in life with "Days Like This." Meanwhile, the album's title track, "Proud To Be Here," (Chris Wallin, Aaron Barker, Ira Dean) reads like a page out of Trace's 2007 autobiography and will strike a chord with everyone who can look back gratefully on the grace that guided them through narrow escapes.
Narrow escapes have famously been Trace's luck in life – his most recent being the house fire that claimed his Tennessee home on June 4. After reassuring fans that he and his family were safe, the Country star redirected offers of support he received to those hit by recent floods and tornadoes in the South, asking instead that support be sent to the American Red Cross*.

The evening kicked off with an elaborate pre-taped segment starring Taylor Swift and Shania Twain as the iconic partners in crime, "Thelma and Louise."  The parody also featured "Glee's" Chord Overstreet, Donald Trump, Ron White, Kenny Rogers and host Kid Rock.  Wynonna Judd made a surprise appearance at the top of the show with Kid Rock before Toby Keith and the Incognito Banditos debuted the world premiere of the new song, "Made in America."
The party rolled on with two first-time performers on the CMT MUSIC AWARDS stage:  The Band Perry, who performed their current hit "You Lie," and Luke Bryan, who was surrounded by dancers for a pyro-filled performance of "Country Girl (Shake It For Me)."  Eight-time CMT MUSIC AWARDS winners Rascal Flatts were joined onstage by Out For Souls, a Nashville based community choir, for an inspiring rendition of their hit, "I Won't Let Go."  Big and Rich, whose CMT performance was the duo's first televised performance in over three years, was joined by surprise guest Gretchen Wilson for their new song "Fake ID," which is featured in the upcoming film, "Footloose."  Host Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow sang and danced to their newest song, "Collide," and Zac Brown Band channeled Jimmy Buffett with their perfect summer song, "Knee Deep."  
Sugarland's emotional performance of "Stand Up," featured the Gilbert family from Joplin, MO, who lost their home in the recent tornadoes and served as a call to action to encourage viewers to give to the American Red Cross (www.redcross.org) in support of continued disaster relief.  Keith Urban rocked his single, "Long Hot Summer," while Lady Antebellum performed their newest hit, "Just a Kiss" and then segued into the Prince classic, "Kiss."  Jason Aldean was then joined onstage by special guest Ludacris, who performed Jason's hit, "Dirt Road Anthem," which included lyrics especially written for this performance, and which will also be available for download on iTunes at midnight.   Finally, Aldean added a bonus track, closing the show with the ultimate country party song, "My Kinda Party."

Top 10 Moments From Willie Nelson’s Country Throwdown Tour

Willie Nelson diehards and outlaw-country revivalists can raise a cold one in unison this summer as Nelson’s Country Throwdown tour rumbles across the land. Featuring Jamey Johnson, Randy Houser, Lee Brice, Craig Campbell, Brantley Gilbert, Drake White and Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real along with a stable of young singer-songwriters, the tour offers a full day of music on three stages for about the same price as a single show.

While wallowing in barbeque and suds and taking care to smile as I walked near the nice bikers’ Harleys, here’s a few of the highlights that I took away from the June 3 stop at The Woods Ampitheater at Fontanel, just outside Nashville. To quote Nelson’s “Me and Paul,” after taking several readings, I’m surprised to find my mind’s still (fairly) sound.
God Bless Texas: Willie’s shows historically start off with “Whiskey River” and a huge Texas flag unfurling behind the band. It’s about the same thing as coming out and saying, “Hello, I’m Johnny Cash.” And if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
Riding the Steel: Jamey Johnson’s electric country sound is unique and begs to be heard with scotch and a cigar in hand. Many of the songs are drenched in steel guitar, while the lead electric player stays close by and answers each call with a soulful reply.
Craig Campbell Brings Lower-Broadway on Tour: The “Family Man” singer honed his skills in Nashville’s busy downtown honky-tonks, and as such does some spot-on country covers. But karaoke, it ain’t. Fans love the skillful live renditions.
The Fountain of Youth: If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to hear Willie as a younger singer, his son Lukas may satisfy your curiosity. He regularly takes the stage with Johnson, his dad and his own band, Promise of the Real, and the distinctive Nelson sound is there. Check out “Sad Songs and Waltzes Aren’t Selling This Year.”
Speaking in Tongues: Johnson’s singing voice sounds like a mumbling grizzly bear at first, but after two or three songs the growls start to sound like heartbroken laments. By the end of the night you and your friends will be involuntarily revealing emotional scars using only a series of grunts.
Brantley Gilbert Connects the Dots: The Georgia-born Gilbert’s style of country is aggressive, heavy on distortion and owes as much to modern rock in the late ’90s as it does to corn bread and biscuits. He gives a mid-day outlet for all the hotheads in the crowd.
Willie Doesn’t Take Breaks: Nelson knows what the crowd wants, and that’s “On the Road Again,” “Good Hearted Women” and “Crazy.” He won’t bore his audience with nonsense about how they look so pretty tonight or by tuning up Trigger. Plus, dude’s got a bedtime.
Randy Houser Has a Secret: He actually plays guitar! The burly “Boots On” singer takes lead from time to time, and was especially impressive while doubling Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Simple Man” solo with his enlisted guitar-slinger.
Extracurricular Activities: The Bluebird Songwriters Tent provides an introduction to fresh talent during the day, and then the young writers each get to perform a song on the main stage while it’s reset between featured artists. Beyond taking some of the boredom out of set changes, it seems like a smart way to cultivate new singers.
Unbroken Circle: The show culminates with a full on sing-along of “Will the Circle Be Unbroken” and “I’ll Fly Away” with Johnson, Houser and whoever else makes it back up to the stage. Even for the spiritually KO’d, you’re sure to come away with that happy feeling that you just were part of something special.

Willie Nelson’s case settles

(CNN) — Willie Nelson settled his latest pot bust with a plea deal that reduced the marijuana possession charge to possession of drug paraphernalia and imposed a $500 fine, his lawyer said Tuesday.  The charge will drop from Nelson’s criminal record if he stays out of trouble for 30 days, according to attorney Joe Turner.
The west Texas prosecutor handling the case had previously suggested Nelson could pay just a $100 fine if he’d serenade the court with his 1975 hit “Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain.”  Judge Becky Dean-Walker, however, vetoed that offer when it surfaced in March.  “My court is not a jester court,” Judge Dean-Walker told CNN. “I understand that people are star-struck, I’m not one of them.”
Nelson, a treasured icon in the Lone Star state, was charged with marijuana possession after U.S. Border Patrol agents searched his tour bus on a Hudspeth County, Texas, highway near the U.S.-Mexico border, about 85 miles southeast of El Paso last November.  “You can bet your ass I’m not going to be mean to Willie Nelson,” Hudspeth County Attorney C.R. “Kit” Bramblett told CNN in March.  The prosecutor joked that while Nelson was initially charged with possession of 6 ounces of pot, which would put the case out of his jurisdiction, he and the sheriff smoked or threw out enough to bring it into his jurisdiction.
Nelson was “very happy” to have the case settled without having to appear in court, his lawyer said.  “He worries about it,” Turner said Tuesday. “It’s not just a speed bump to him. It hasn’t been a holiday for him.”   The sentenced will be deferred, which means it will fall off his criminal record after 30 days of good behavior, he said.  “The truth is there are a lot of people who had access to the tour bus, and it’s not an open-and-shut case,” Turner said. “I’d like to think it was because he had a good lawyer.”
Turner, who also represented Nelson in a 1994 marijuana possession case, laughed as he called the singer “incorrigible.”  Pot smoking on Nelson’s bus is no secret, Bramblett said. “They got a song out that says ‘I’ll Never Smoke Weed With Willie Again.’ “  Toby Keith’s lyrics tell a story of learning “a hard lesson in a small Texas town” while smoking marijuana on Nelson’s old bus, the “Honey Suckle Rose.”
Asked where Nelson was when he learned the case was settled, his lawyer said “He’s on the road again.”

Trace Adkins Urges Fans to Help Storm Victims, Not Him

Following the news of the devastating electrical fire that destroyed his Brentwood, Tenn., home on Saturday, Trace Adkins has received an overwhelming outpouring of support from concerned friends and fans. He is asking them to re-direct their efforts and generosity to the American Red Cross through CMT One Country to assist those who have lost everything due to the recent storms that pummeled the South and Southeast, instead of sending him anything.

"I have been blessed. My kids are OK, my wife is OK. I have my guitar and my songs. Everything else can be replaced," Trace said in a statement released on Tuesday. "Unfortunately, there are families out there who need help if they're to rebuild after these recent storms. The American Red Cross was one of the first on the scene to help my family and, through their work, others will receive the assistance they need to get back on their feet."

Neither Trace nor his wife, Rhonda, were at home at the time of the fire, but the quick-thinking babysitter called 9-11 and rushed the children out of the house, putting their safety plan in action. Firefighters were called to the scene at 3:35 PM CT on Saturday. The fire originating from the garage quickly spread to the attic, completely engulfing the 5,000-square-foot house in flames, destroying practically everything inside the house and garage, including Trace's Harley Davidson motorcycle and a Cadillac Escalade.

The superstar was en route to Alaska when the fire broke out, so he didn't get the news until he had landed. He returned home immediately. He was scheduled to perform in Fairbanks,
Alaska on Wednesday (June 8) and Anchorage, Alaska on Thursday (June 9). He has decided to keep those commitments and will rejoin his family, who are safely ensconced at their farm south of Nashville, this weekend. He is also scheduled to perform during CMA Music Festival Saturday at Nashville's LP Field.

As a side note, the family's farm serves as the location of his new video, 'Just Fishin',' which also stars his youngest daughter, Trinity.

Trace Adkins home destroyed in fire Saturday

Country star Trace Adkins suffered a total loss to his home after a fire broke out in his garage on Saturday at his home in Brentwood, a Nashville suburb.

Adkins was on a flight to Alaska for a show, and his wife, Rhonda was on her way back from dropping him off at the airport when the fire broke out. 

Two of the couple's daughters and a nanny were inside the house at the time, but escaped without harm.

A neighbor rescued the family dog.

Adkins cancelled his immediate performances and flew back home immediately.

The family lost nearly all of their personal possessions, including most of Trace's awards and memorabilia from throughout his career.

"The 45th Annual CMA Awards" to be Broadcast Live November 9 on the ABC Television Network

The Country Music Association and ABC Television Network have announced that "The 45th Annual CMA Awards" will air Wednesday, Nov. 9 (8:00-11:00 PM/EST) on ABC live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn.

"The CMA Awards recognizes the best in the format – that's what makes this 'Country Music's Biggest Night'," said Steve Moore , CMA Chief Executive Officer. "The CMA Awards is one of the most highly anticipated events for our industry each year. It's a night to honor our finest performers, songwriters, record producers, musicians, and music video directors."
The 2010 CMA Awards was the No. 1 entertainment show for the week among the key advertising Adults 18-49 sales demographic. The special beat its nearest competition by 5.7 million viewers and by 74 percent in Adults 18-49, according to Nielsen.
Held during November Sweeps (Nov. 10), "The 44th Annual CMA Awards" on ABC, dominated the night winning all six of its half-hours. With a primetime sweep, ABC finished No. 1 on Wednesday in Viewers across all key demos including Adult, Men, and Women (18-34/18-49/25-54), as well as finishing as the top broadcaster with Teens (12-17) and Kids (2-11). In Total Viewers (17.2 million) and Adults 18-49 (4.7/13) it was ABC's strongest Wednesday in 12 months with an estimated 33.8 million viewers watching at least some portion of the three-hour gala.  
The CMA Awards nominees and winners are determined by the 6,000 industry professional members of CMA, which was the first trade organization formed to promote an individual genre of music in 1958.
Winners of "The 45th Annual CMA Awards" will be determined in a final round of voting by eligible voting members of the Country Music Association. CMA Awards balloting is officiated by the international accounting firm of Deloitte & Touche LLP.
The eligibility period for the 2011 CMA Awards is July 1, 2010 to June 30, 2011. All voting for "The 45th Annual CMA Awards" will be conducted online. The first ballot and instructions will be e-mailed June 27 to CMA members in good standing who are eligible to vote. Voting for the first ballot closes at 5:00 PM/CT, July 13.
The second ballot will be e-mailed to CMA members Aug. 9. Voting for the second ballot closes at 5:00 PM/CT, Aug. 23. The final nominees in each of the 12 categories will be announced in early September.
The third and final ballot will be e-mailed to CMA members Oct. 14. Voting for the CMA Awards final ballot ends at 5:00 PM/CT, Nov. 1.
