-- Madonna is having a huge party and everyone's invited. The Madonna 2012 World Tour begins May 29th 2012 in Tel Aviv, Israel it was officially announced by Live Nation Entertainment, the tour's international promoter. The shows will include arenas, stadiums and special outdoor sights including the Plains of Abraham in Quebec and a return visit to South America as well as Australia where she has not performed in 20 years. The tour will stop in 26 European cities including London, Paris, Milan and Berlin.
The first of 26 North American shows is scheduled for August 28th in Philadelphia and includes a September 6th show in NY's Yankee Stadium and an October 10th performance at LA's Staples Center. Tickets are scheduled to go on sale beginning February 10th in Tel Aviv and the United Kingdom, with North American tickets going on sale beginning February 13th. Tickets for North America are available at Ticketmaster.com and LiveNation.com. A complete itinerary of Madonna 2012 follows this release.
Madonna's previous tour, the phenomenally successful "Sticky & Sweet" Tour reaffirmed her status as one of the most successful touring artists of all time. The historic tour included such incredible touring feats as a 70,000 seat sell-out in Werchter, Belgium, an 85,000 sell-out in Helsinki (the largest show ever in the Nordic countries by a solo artist), a 40,000 ticket sell-out in Oslo, Norway, and 72,000 tickets sold out in one day in Tallinn Estonia. Other record breaking ticket sales around the globe include 650,000 tickets sold in her series of South American dates, 72,000 tickets at Zurich's Dubendorf Airfield - the largest audience ever assembled for a show in Switzerland, 75,000 tickets in London and four sell outs in New York's Madison Square Garden (60,364 tickets). 
The announcement of Madonna's 2012 World Tour follows an extraordinary week which included a monumental extravaganza of a performance at the Bridgestone Super Bowl Halftime which was seen in over 200 countries by over a billion people. Last week also saw the release of Madonna's new single, "Give Me All Your Luvin" from her highly anticipated new album MDNA on Live Nation Entertainment/Interscope Records - scheduled to be released on March 26th. Pre orders have already catapulted MDNA to No. 1 on iTunes in 51 countries including the US, UK, Germany, France, Spain, Canada, Italy, Sweden and the Netherlands. The single's  video directed by Megaforce which also stars Nicki Minaj and MIA previewed on American Idol. Additionally, the Madonna directed Golden Globe Award winning film "W.E." opened in NY and LA with other markets to follow later in the month.

 ELECTRIC FLOWER ANNOUNCE RELEASE OF EP II

  

DUE OUT MARCH 27, 2012 ON NARNACK RECORDS

 Los Angeles, CA - Electric Flower, the visceral realist duo consisting of guitarist/singer Imaad Wasif and drummer Josh Garza, will release their sophomore EP, entitled EP II, on March 27th via Narnack Records. The offering showcases the band expanding their sound beyond the rawness of their first EP to explore the dimensions of depth and width.

In Electric Flower, rock is not dead but realized. The chemistry between Wasif and Garza is undeniable. These are two true modern rockers that can and will break sound barriers. They create the kind of loudness that makes you glad, with songs that have an immediate and tangible impact on the contemporary pop musical landscape. Artifice is devalued; pure emotion is king. 

"Eclipsed" is a standout single, part loose metaphor, part nod to Dylan's 'Don't Think Twice' and Big Star's 'September Gurls,' yet carving a space of its own. "Cocoon" is a markedly weirder track; the repetition of the mantra-like lyric "To see your love come shining" gives way by sudden schism into an unexpected extraterrestrial soundscape, veering between CAN-esque Mesmer beats and a guitar angularity akin to This Heat, all the while carrying the current of a song unlike either. 

EP II is proof that music today can be cinematic and conceptual without the complications of over-instrumentation as demonstrated within the modern overarching epic.  Conversely, it moves against the wake of new-fangled blues stomp rock and the limits of its obligatory two-piece bands.  Side two of the EP is dedicated to a cover of Scott Walker's dark symphonic ode to S&M, "The Electrician," done to such effect that it cuts to the core of the original, its primitive brightness reaching far out into other corners. 

If the world ever catches up to them, we can then be sure that times really have changed, that the end is nigh, that "the circle" is unbroken. Electric Flower are on a journey through a modern kaleidoscope of rock 'n' roll, transcending mainstream influence and incorporating strong minimalist elements into their modern psychedelic music.  In Garza's pummeling beats and Wasif's vocal and guitar exorcisms, we are not listening to just two men, but to an orchestra of the damned.  Electric Flower wakes the ghosts of rock's most daring days, while never following them.

Imaad Wasif has released three solo albums, including 2010's highly acclaimed The Voidist, and has established himself as one of the L.A. underground's most electrifying guitar players. Josh Garza, a Texas native and the drummer of Secret Machines, is widely recognized for his fearless sound, channeling the spirit of Bonham and the space between the beats. During the 15 years that Cody Canada was front man for Cross Canadian Ragweed, he successfully tapped into his childhood influences on each of their nine albums. In the wake of Cross Canadian Ragweed’s decision to part ways, Cody resurfaced with an armament of musicians and a mission in mind. With his long time Ragweed band mate, Jeremy Plato (bass) the two made a seamless transition into the world of The Departed, as in ‘Cody Canada and The Departed”. “We kicked around several ideas for names,“ Canada said. “We’re all from different bands and we wanted something to sound like we came from different places. The Departed was right on the money.”  Along with Canada and Plato, The Departed rounds out with Seth James on guitar, Steve Littleton on B3 organ and keys and Dave Bowen on drums.

Shooter Jennings has worn many hats throughout his career: the self-described "son of a rebel saint," the hell-raising vigilante minister at a revival of true country music, the radical prophet using rock and roll as his medium, the guiding light for an ever-growing army of young musicians who are, like Shooter himself, outsiders in today's music business. After leading several popular ‘80s cult bands in and around his hometown of Lawrence, Kansas, Chuck Mead landed on Nashville’s Lower Broadway where he co-founded the famed ‘90s Alternative Country quintet BR549. The band’s seven albums, three Grammy nominations and the Country Music Association Award for Best Overseas Touring Act would build an indelible bridge between authentic American Roots music and millions of fans worldwide. With BR on hiatus, Chuck formed The Hillbilly All-Stars featuring members of The Mavericks, co-produced popular tribute albums to Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings, guest-lectured at Vanderbilt University, and became a staff writer at one of Nashville’s top song publishers. In 2009, he released his acclaimed solo debut album, Journeyman’s Wager, and toured clubs, concert halls and international Rock, Country and Rockabilly festivals with his band The Grassy Knoll Boys.

Having been in constant creative demand for over 17 straight years, pop-punk uber-band Bowling for Soup clearly has no problem kicking out fresh songs, ridiculous videos, and album after album of music that sets the bar for their genre. Even after nearly two decades together, some things are the same. They still call Denton, TX home, they still are putting out an avalanche of new music every year, and they’re still the guys you’d cut class with to get a beer and a Hot Pocket. For a band that has had only one personnel change in 17 years, which is a remarkable feat by any standards, it’s clear that the team stays tight and that ain’t gonna change. As much as things are the same, however, recent times have brought massive changes for Bowling for Soup, and some things are very, very different and completely awesome.

Payne, who co-founded Little Feat with the late, great Lowell George 35 years ago, has been Little Feat’s keyboardist – and its pilot – throughout the band’s existence, writing and singing such beloved classics as "Oh Atlanta," "Day or Night," "Time Loves a Hero“ and ”Gringo,“ while ”steering a ship that was rudderless," as he puts it. Since the group's inception in late 2007, the Portland Cello Project, has wowed audiences all over the country with extravagant performances, mixing genres and blurring musical lines and perceptions wherever they go. No two shows are alike, with a repertoire now numbering over 800 pieces of music you wouldn't normally hear coming out of a cello. They've performed everywhere, from touring with heavy metal guitarist Buckethead, to sports bars in Texas, to punk clubs in Boston, & covered everything from Beethoven to Arvo Pärt to instrumental covers of Kanye West and Pantera.

Eventually landing in Los Angeles, Wells finally learned through recording and performing, how to have the creative control she craved. Slowly building her own studio, she taught herself how to record and produce. This is the studio in which she would create, record, mix, and produce 'The Symphonies: Dreams Memories & Parties' her latest release. To get the sound of a full orchestra, Emily didn't take the easy way out and simply loop the layers of violins; instead, she played up to 21 separate tracks of violin on each symphony, often using an octave pedal to create the tones of an underwater cello or viola. In addition to the strings, there is a plethora of other sounds, electronic and organic alike.

Moon Taxi is one of those rare bands that unites musical ingenuity with thoughtful lyrics and still somehow manages to wildly entertain and thrill a crowd.
