New shows at Old Rock House

Sleeper Agent
Saturday, September 17
Doors 7pm Show 8pm
$8 Advance $10 Day of Show
All Ages

There are many markers of success in the first-year career of Sleeper Agent, the overachieving Little Garage-Pop Act That Could from Bowling Green, Kentucky. The key to Sleeper Agent’s steady ascent, recently punctuated by their rollicking shows at SXSW, is disarmingly simple: the band members know how to laugh at themselves, and their songs are joyously melodic. After the six piece played their first show together in 2010, they decided to put together an eight-song demo. That recording caught the attention of friends Matt & Brad Shultz of Cage the Elephant, who they later toured with. For now, the members of Sleeper Agent have been expertly plowing their way through the masses the only way they know how: one town at a time.

PROJECT/OBJECT
Wednesday, October 19
Doors 7pm Show 8pm
$15 Advance $18 Day of Show
All Ages

The members of PROJECT/OBJECT feel that Frank Zappa is one of the 20th Century’s greatest and most important composers, and they are on a mission to bring his music to the masses by faithfully recreating the live Zappa experience. In every new market they visit, PROJECT/OBJECT converts the curious into dedicated fans. They want to remind old Zappa fans of the way it used to be and let younger fans, that never experienced a Zappa show, see and hear the way it was.

Orgone
Monday, October 31
Doors 7pm Show 8pm
$12 Flat
All Ages

Los Angeles based band Orgone is many souls with a cosmic connection, a natural creative force and musicians who have played together for years. They are self schooled and continue to shape their musical voice as a solid unit of guys who hang, spin records and jam out their shared inspirations. With a rooted sense of funk, soul, afrobeat, deep rhythms and an intimate understanding of dj culture as well as each others’ individual talents, Orgone seamlessly slides through multiple styles and dynamic performances. The group continuously injects whatever they play with a heavy brand of raw funk power.
