USO Tour Veteran and Superstar Toby Keith to Return to the Middle East on Ninth USO Tour
Award-winning singer/songwriter and entertainer Toby Keith will soon deploy to the Middle East on what will be his ninth USO/Armed Forces Entertainment tour. Keith began volunteering with the USO in 2002 and has lifted the spirits of more than 159,000 troops and their families. As part of his upcoming 12-day, 3-country USO tour, the country music star will perform a series of concerts, sign autographs, pose for photos and lift the spirits of service men and women.
A huge supporter of the U.S. Armed Forces, Keith was presented the 2009 Military Offices Association of America (MOAA) Distinguished Service Award in recognition for his ongoing support of troops and their families. He also served as the inspiration behind USO2GO, a USO program designed to deliver much needed electronics, entertainment and personal care items to troops in remote locations. Keith wrapped up 2010 with a Grammy nomination for his emotional tribute “Cryin’ For Me (Wayman’s Song),” and is keeping the momentum going in 2011 with a nomination for Academy of Country Music (ACM) Entertainer of the Year and recently announced plans to return to Europe on his Locked and Loaded World Tour.
