“Live From Home with Darius Rucker” New York City Benefit Performance Nearing Sold-Out
Nashville, Tenn. (Monday, April 18, 2011) – Capitol Records Nashville’s Darius Rucker is no stranger to success, but this week he has reached a milestone that he never dreamt would be possible: his fifth chart-topping single.  “This,” the second single from his 2010 release Charleston, SC 1966, is currently #1 on both Billboard and MediaBase charts.

“When we set out to record this album, we tried to choose songs that would mean something to the fans,” says Rucker.  “The single, “This,” was a song I never thought would be a single, but that just shows you the power of the fans because they were the ones requesting it, downloading it, and playing it for their friends.  It’s their support that has made my career in country music possible.”

Rucker will celebrate his latest hit with a series of performances next week in New York City including TODAY Show, Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, The Wendy Williams Show, and a benefit concert “Live From Home with Darius Rucker” at Housing Works’ Bookstore Café located at 126 Crosby Street.  A few tickets still remain available for purchase for “Live From Home” with every dollar supporting Housing Works’ mission to end homelessness and AIDS.  For more information and ticketing information, please visit DariusRucker.com.
